Scout Notes – FA Cup – Monday

Arsenal dodge a bullet to complete the FA Cup quarter-final line-up and confirm a Gameweek 28 blank for themselves and Leicester City.

Sutton United 0 Arsenal 2

Goals from Lucas Perez and Theo Walcott (courtesy of assists from Granit Xhaka and Alex Iwobi) ended both Sutton’s FA Cup dream and perhaps sealed the fate of Alexis Sanchez as a short-term Fantasy asset.

Arsene Wenger made seven changes from the side humbled in Munich, with Walcott up front, Rob Holding in for the injured Laurent Koscielny and Sanchez on the bench. Hector Bellerin and the much-maligned Mesut Ozil were not involved.

The only sour note on the night was a possible injury to midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who received treatment on the pitch in the first half and was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at half-time.

Whatever the ins and outs of the team, the bottom line is that the Gunners will now miss both Gameweek 26 – due to Southampton’s involvement in the EFL Cup final – and the Gameweek 28 visit of Leicester.

That is highly likely to prompt continued sales in key Arsenal assets, with Sanchez the major casualty.

Fantasy Premier League’s leading points scorer, the Chilean is already the third most transferred-out player with over 76,000 sales – with 6000 of those arriving in the last 24 hours. Olivier Giroud is also placed in the top ten, with Koscielny just outside it.

The Gunners’ immediate schedule doesn’t help their cause either, with Liverpool away and a home clash against Manchester City to come over their next three matches.

Double Gameweeks will boost their stock again further down the line, with a strong run of four fixtures following the Gameweek 30 visit of Pep Guardiola’s side but, for now, many will now be implementing exit plans.

Arsenal XI: Ospina, Gabriel, Mstafi, Holding, Monreal, Elneny (Oxlade-Chamberlain 45), Xhaka, Lucas, Reine-Adelaide (Maitland-Niles 74), Iwobi (Sanchez 74), Walcott.
Subs not used: Martinez, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Gibbs.

Kingsley to Robertson or Maguire is only thing possibly to give you another defender week 28 and perhaps to play week 26 instead of Pieter's v Spurs

If you can't field 11 this GW, and if you won't be able to field 11 in GW 28 than a hit for Robertson could be good, it means he only need to get 4 points in those two games to pay back the hit.

    Would you:

    A. Do Zlatan to Costa (blank Bou blank vs SWA wh blank) in next 3. With this option I would have 9 playing in gw 28 without a hit (3-5-1 formation)

    B. Keep Zlatan and use transfer to do Holebas to a defender playing in gw 28 which would give me 10 playing in gw 28 without a hit (4-5-1 formation)

    Thanks

    Kane or Costa?

If you have to choose between them and owning Hazard, Pedro, Alli or Eriksen doesn't make a difference.

It doesn't matter now. He's got a hatty and 2 home fixtures to keep the scoring boots on. I like how people are still not tempted by him. 🙂

    Foster (Jaku)
    Coleman Brunt F.Mori Alonso (Lenihan)
    Alli Snoddy Phillips (Siggy Sanchez)
    Lukaku Kane Defoe

I seem to have two problems which work against each other, and that is not Ibra for GW27 and only 8 for GW28 with only 2 FTs before then. Next gameweek, should I:
    (A) Get Ibra at all costs and take hits to field more players for GW28.
    (B) Use 2FTs to get 10 for GW28 and ignore Ibra.
    (C) Use 2FTs and a -4 to get 11 for GW28 and ignore Ibra.

    Phillips -> Cout

    Yay or nay?

Makes for a better looking team for gw26 but I don't feel great about bringing in players in such weak form.

Who would you start? not sure either are particularly nailed on, Davies more maybe.

    A Davies (SUN home)
    B Stanislas (WBA away)
    or
    C Niasse --> Kane (-4)

C means I start Kane instead of Davies or Stan but he blanks on 28, worth a -4?

    Thanks

Would you pick Allen over Pieters for the game vs spurs?

    Heaton (Jaku)
    Walker Coleman Alonso (Pieters, Amat)
    Siggy Eriksen Mane Phillips (Allen)
    Kaku Defoe (Ibra)

Probably they are both going to score 1pt, but if Stoke score there is a nice chance Allen will be involved

          Simple:
He has gotten 2 bonus in 2 of the last 3. He therefore has 67% chance of getting 2 bonus in his next game 😛

    Current team:

    Foster Mannone
Coleman Brunt Chambers Van Aanholt Love
    Hazarh Eriksen Alli Phillips Carroll
    Costa Kane Lukaku

    0FT 1.7 ITB

Looking to do PVA, Love & Alli > Mawson, Maguire & Mane over next two GW's for a -4 to field 8 in GW 28.

Would it be worth doing -4 for PVA(MID) > Maguire(BUR) this week or play PVA?

Will get Mawson in next week for Love and then Mane for Alli.

    Thanks

Which def would you get rid of and for whom:

    Foster
    Brunt, Baines, Alonso
    Phillips, Antonio, Sigurdsson, Mane
    Lukaku, Ibrahimovic*, Kane

subs: Heaton --- Jones*, Holgate*, Clayton --- 1 FT, 3.7 ITB

    A) Jones -> Robertson/Clyne
    B) Holgate -> Coleman/Robertson/Clyne

Why do people think Ibra is suddenly going to go crazy against Bour at home?
He has only scored more than 1 goal at home in the league once all season and that was in gw2!
Sanchez is far more likely to explode v Liverpool imo.

Well if Lukaku can score 4 that surely Ibra could score 2, also United are due a penalty

Based on the next 3 GW; B
A not sure Lallana is the Pool asset to go for and you use up your FT
B is better than C, Sanchez unlikely to outscore Alli in 1 game.

Just realized I'm 100 points off the 100k OR. Being an optimist, I am trying to figure out ways to make up those points and need your suggestions!

    Current team for GW 26:

    Heaton (Foster)
    McAuley Fonte Coleman Baines (Love)
    Siggy Snoddy Alli Eriksen (Fletcher)
    Costa Lukaku(C) (Ibra)

    Here's the plan so far:
    - Captain Ibra in GW27
    - Replace Eriksen with Liv mid before GW 28
    - Get Sanchez ONLY after the international break

If you were in my position, how would you go about making up that huge gap - what changes you would make/what differentials you would pick?

    Thanks!
