Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Saturday

Gameweek 26 arrives with a reduced programme of fixtures and a late start but, following the FA Cup hiatus, we will gladly take what we are given.

Fantasy managers will be focused mainly on two venues, as Romelu Lukaku and Diego Costa carry the armband expectations of many.

Everton face basement dwellers Sunderland at Goodison Park having spanked Bournemouth in their previous home outing. Lukaku destroyed the Cherries defence and will be looking to make a similar impact on a Black Cats rearguard which already suffered at his hands back in Gameweek 4 – the Belgian scored a hat-trick in that encounter.

David Moyes’ side are without Jason Denayer through illness, though Jordan Pickford returns in goal. He could be busy.

Meanwhile, at Stamford Bridge, Costa and Eden Hazard provide strong captain alternatives ahead of a clash with Swansea City.

Costa has yet to claim a double-digit score on home turf this season but faces his favourite opponent in the Swans having scored seven goals in four previous meetings. Hazard has provided five double-figure hauls at home, as he looks to follow on from his wonder goal display against Arsenal when last at the Bridge.

Elsewhere, West Brom’s array of Fantasy assets clash with Bournemouth at The Hawthorns, with the 19.5% owned Matt Phillips missing out through injury.

Finally, Crystal Palace look for a vital three points at home to Middlesbrough, while Burnley drop in on the much improved Hull City, as Tom Heaton and Edlin Jakupovic go head-to-head in a battle of two top Fantasy stoppers.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Nope, I have him. I had Dann too and got rid just before he got his haul for Rose who got crocked so I'm really pleased. Sorry if it pisses people off.

    I deserve this!

Did a bit of bench w*nk*ry... Phillips doesn't play, Barnes comes in. I own Baines, Brunt, Hazard... Main ML rival owns Coleman, PVA, McAuley, Pedro and captained Kane...

Never ever will I be a bench w*nk*r again!

    LOL @ me!

    A) Holebas + Eriksen > Coleman + Firmino

Will give 9 players for GW28 (if Phillips is back...) and 2FTs to start bring back in DGWers.

    B) Holebas + Eriksen > Coleman + Sterling

Get Sterling for probable DGW, use FT to bring in Liverpool mid, only have 1 FT in GW28.

38 (-4) from 8, with Alli, Eriksen and Mane to go. Not ideal.

The -4 was to get in Barnes for a non-starter, sent off for -2. So much for low risk hit near two GWs with blanks....

It could. Transfer cost me -6 though, pretty irritating, if by some miracle Brunt is awarded that assist, I might end up with a small green arrow this week.

Some good news, Barnes -1 actually.

      (Phillips owner, Barnes first sub.)

That's weird, he is listed on FFFix as -2, but you're right. I was wondering if there was any points difference between a straight red and two yellows. I'd have thought a straight red would be a bigger minus score than two yellows.

        1. The Tinkerman
          • 8 Years

FPL removes -1 for the booking and replaces it with -2 for the red. FFFix does -2 for the red and -1 for the yellow, hence the error.

I debated for a fair while between playing Nyom or Smith. One had clean sheet potential, the other assist potential. I asked here a few times, looked at bookie odds and played Nyom.

Result: Both score 1 point each.

Lol, really. Him and Phillips have been the worst. Smith is a guaranteed returner of 1 point or 0 points.

Rondon one of best players on the pitch today.

Didn't get a goal which doesn't translate to anything in FPL, but if you have other priorities I'd be keeping Rendon!
