Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Wednesday

After the first four fixtures of Gameweek 31 treated us to just seven goals last night, hopes are a little higher for the remaining six matches.

Many Fantasy managers will be keeping a keen eye on the Emirates as Alexis Sanchez looks to punish West Ham once again.

The Chilean is the third most-captained player this time around, having served up 23 points against the Hammers back in Gameweek 14.

Dele Alli – the most popular midfielder in FPL – and Spurs team-mate Christian Eriksen also have the opportunity to deliver a big profit as they travel to a Swansea City outfit that boasts the worst home defensive record in the top-flight.

Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough are also in action this evening, affording us an early scouting opportunity as both gear up for a double Gameweek 34.

Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha roll up to St Mary’s looking to build on their goal and assist apiece away to Chelsea, with Sam Allardyce’s men seeking a fifth straight victory.

‘Boro face a tough task away to Hull, though. The Tigers are a tough nut to crack at home under Marco Silva, with six wins and a draw in seven in front of their own supporters across all competitions. Notably, the Teessiders appear to have opted for a front two for tonight’s clash.

Chelsea and Man City square up at the Bridge in one of two 8pm encounters.

Diego Costa is the second most-captained player for the Gameweek – over 10% are backing the Spain international despite a run of two goals in seven. Meanwhile, for the visitors, Sergio Aguero has persuaded 8% to take an armband punt on the back of three strikes in four.

Liverpool seek to gain revenge on their 4-3 capitulation at the Vitality Stadium earlier in the season as Bournemouth make their way to Anfield. With Sadio Mane sidelined, Philippe Coutinho – the top transfer target for Gameweek 31 – and Roberto Firmino carry the main threat to a defence that’s been breached 31 times already on their travels.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Morning guys,
Got my WC to play, as well a TC, BB and AOA. Is the below plan the best course of action, based on my current team?

TC in GW 34, WC in GW 36, BB in GW 37 and AOA GW 38

My team until I WC in 36:

    Jaku Heaton
    Walker Alonso Pieters Valencia Amat
    Siggy Alli Sanchez Allen King
    Kaku Vardy Gabbi

plan is to get Sane in for Siggy, get a saints defender (yoshida?) and somehow get rid of allen..

      Same plan.
Might do TC in 35. Depends on Arsenal's DGW.

    Sanchez Alli Mane Siggy
    Lukaku Llorente* Costa

    Pickford King Funes-Mori** Hojbjerg

    1 FT 1.6 ITB.

Need some serious help with what to do.. chasing my league by 130 points but leader has used EVERY chip and I still have WC, BB & TC.

    Thank you in advance !

Team looks good but with 130 points to catch you need good differentials and a blinding TC and BB.

Without knowing this guys team it is hard to help, but I'd suggest Mane to Eriksen or Sane with the FT.Would be good to get Ibra in too but don't think it's worth a -4

Glad I wildcarded. Got 64 points which isn't bad. I would have got about 36 points with my previous team, and I'm nicely set up for the next few now.

A couple of last minute decisions like Lukaku over Vardy and Gibson over MaGuire ended up hurting but on the whole I'm happy with the outcome!

    Morning y'all,

any thoughts to help me make my next transfer decision appreciated.

    Valdes
    Valencia-Gibson-Alonso
    Siggy-Sanchez-Son-Redmond
    Carroll-Ibra-Kaku

    Heaton-Yoshida-Holebas-Carroll

    WC intact. 1ft 1.7 itb

I'm thinking 1 (or 2) of these transfers. I will do all these transfer over the next few weeks depends which order.

Siggy > Ali. Double up on spurs until Kane back. Then get rid of Son.
    Holebas > Davies
    both -4
    Heaton > Pickford. (release .9m)

Will keep A Carrol and upgrade/downgrade at some point.

    thanks

That team looks good. I'd leave Siggurdson one more week with West Ham to come up.

    Foster (Grant)
    Alonso Baines Holebas Yoshida (Love)
    Sanchez Coutinho Alli Siggurdson (King)
    Lukaku Vardy llorente

    0.7 ITB

I'm looking at a -4 by switching Baines to Ben Davies and either Lukaku or Vardy to Ibra. Can'd decide which though!

Anything else to consider? Willing to risk Llorente for West Ham. May look to bring in Sane but will probably leave that until after the Manchester derby.

Back when DGW talk started 5-6 GWs ago I was all set on TC in 34/35, WC in 35/36, BB in 37 and AOA in 38.

But now with Sanchez (Southampton & Spurs/United) and Ibra (Burnley & City) and Boro not inspiring as much confidence and all the talk of increased rotation in 37, I'm strongly considering BB in 34, WC in 35/36, TC in 37 and AOA in 38.

    Anyone else in my boat?

Would you take a hit anywhere with this lot?

    WC/ BB in tact.
Think i need to act sooner rather than later though.
It's been a rough few 3~4 weeks now.

    Heaton.
    Alonso, Robertson, Walker, Brunt.
    Sanchez, Cout, Alli, Siggy.
    Lukaku, Costa.

    Pickford, Llorente, Funes Mori**, Whelan.

Hi all, looking for some ideas if anyone has any?!

    Jaku (Grant)
Alonso - Valencia - Brunt (Yoshida, Robertson)
    Sanchez - Hazard - Alli - Sigurdsson (T.Carroll)
    Ibrahimovic - Carroll - Lukaku

    1x ft
    0.5itb

Everyone seems to be selling Sanchez, Siggy, Lukaku, but they could easily do well this week..

Start getting ready for week 34? Something like Grant > Valdes would give a better keeper option this week too with Jaku/Grant both bad fixtures.

    Jakupovic Pickford
    Clyne Valencia Pieters Alonso Baines
    Eriksen Sanchez King Sigurdsson Carroll
    Costa Lukaku Llorente
    1.6 ITB, 1FT

Should I wildcard or wait for GW36? I feel like I need to take a hit or two. Clyne, Alonso, Costa, goalies, Llorente... None of them looks good.

Bench boost this lot??? Don't have WC, and looking to TC in GW37 so it is tempting:

    Heaton(mid) Jaku(mci)
    Cahill(bou) Valencia(sun) Brunt(SOU) Davies(WAT) Chambers(BUR)(if fit)
    Sanchez (cry) Alli(WAT) Sane(HUL) Firmino(stk) T.Carroll(whu)
    Ibra(sun) Lukaku(LEI) Carroll(SWA)

Most people would go against bench boosting but that's because they still have their WC.
