The ScoutCast – Episode 226 – Beached

Excess baggage checked in, deckchairs reserved and sun block applied – the Scoutcast team are all ready to hit the beach.

Smack in the middle of Gameweek 37, with points flowing from all angles, not even Hal Robson Kanu’s late goal can upset the pre-vacation mood.

Stringing five men across the midfield, Luke and Az join Jonty, Andy and myself for a bumper end of season episode as we tackle another volley of questions from you, the community.

We conduct a post-mortem on the flurry of chips, weigh up the Gameweek 38 punts, put together our final day Wildcard XI and take a look back on our own personal highs and lows of a topsy-turvy season.

After 128 minutes of that lot and sunstroke already setting in, we even forget to chat captains and transfers come the end, only to make amends later.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Somehow 36 points ahead, but he still has his TC chip. Sunday afternoon is not going to be a relaxing one...

If my rival doesn't have Hazard, would you ditch him for Coutinho?
And what do people think about Pedro? Likely to play?

    Caballero / Pickford
    Alonso / Vertonghen / Monreal / Stephens / Holgate
    Sanchez / Hazard / Eriksen / Pedro / King
    Kane / Jesus / Anichebe

Is it possible to monitor his transfer??

No - you have that one spot on. I think everyone needs to start using the word 'unsurely' a lot because it's more accurate. It's GW38 so anything goes, really.

So many rotation risks (marked with *) as I try to hold in the top 10k for the first time, current rank of 7528.
Already followed the crowd with Hazard to Coutinho but think I need a -4 to get 11 starters.
    Cech
    Alonso* Holding* Darmian*
    Sanchez Coutinho Sterling* King
    Costa* Kane Jesus
    Bench: Willy Yoshida Stephens* Capoue
I know a hit for defender is frownded upon but Darmian or Stephens to Matip?

The gun-start multiple 10 team line-up announcements on Sunday will send this site into overdrive and oblivion if Hazard, Alonso, Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Kos, Azpil, Sane, Costa, Kun etc don't start 😉

Hope Mark puts on another server

    1. Pep says
      • 8 Years
      6 years, 11 months ago

Kane and Azpi will 100% start.

      Sané and Aguerro should start

Kosc all depends on how he feels, maybe it's more important to give him sufficient rest for the final. We'll see what Wenger says in a few mins

Conte likely to start a strong team in preparation for the final and the homecoming of the team to lift the cup

Alli should start and it's unclear if there was a specific reason for Eriksen's non start, Poch may reveal some details in his presser

      1. Make Arrows Green Again
        • 7 Years

Why do you think 100% on Azpi, Pep? My reasoning is that he's one of the the ones under threat having started the last game. Cheers.

        1. Pep says
          • 8 Years
          6 years, 11 months ago

Because he's started EVERY game to date. Why didn't he get a rest in the last when Conte made 9 changes. He will want to play.

Fair enough it isn't 100% but I'm just shedding my opinion. 90% of the site saying Coutinho is essential, why dont you get on their back.

It's just absurd to be saying 100%. You are otherwise too good a poster to be talking nonsense like that. Especially about Azpi, when there is clearly a rationale for him NOT starting. I'm not predicting one way or the other, but 100% is just silly,

Look here, im assuming hazard wont start and changing for de bruyne. Im then going to play Gabbiadini,

Now the question im asking myself is how worth it is it to do a -4 this week? Assuming Gabbiadini plays, thatwould mean to actually get a return id need the player coming in to get a goal and some bonus or 2 goals or an assist etc, chance of nothing I would think are higher.

So in closing, I normally take a hit in the hope it will pay off immediately or if not over time.

So is it really worth it to take a hit on the last game?

    1. jason_ni
      • 8 Years

No point in taking hit in final GW - unless player is injured and you have no bench

    2. Pep says
      • 8 Years
      6 years, 11 months ago

Not really imo. I'd leave Hazard, he'll step up and put on a show tomorrow. Gabbi to Vokes would be my FT

    3. 1Banksy
      • 8 Years
      6 years, 11 months ago

I too am assuming he won't start. With Gabbi it's tough but I'm considering a hit for another player I don't think will start. I am tempted by Matip as I feel Liverpool is virtually guaranteed a sheet which is comparable with a striker getting a goal.

      1. ISI
        • 8 Years
        6 years, 11 months ago

I hear you, but lets say matip keeps a clean sheet and gabbi starts, that would mean the net effect is 0 because of the -4. Wouldn't it be more worth it to keep gabbi, hope he starts and who knows maybe he gets something?

    4. 1Banksy
      • 8 Years
      6 years, 11 months ago

My defenders are Alonso, Holding, Darmian, Yoshida and Stephens. I'm thinking Darmian to Matip for -4. Worried I don't have 3 starters amongst them and I may need some sub defenders points for Sterling, Costa or other rotation.

Should i drop any of these for Coutinho?
    A)Alli
    B)Hazard
C)King )+ Cahill) -> will play Stepehns instead

All 4 have there plus points - just with Chelsea, maybe some gametime risk, but at same time could put on a show and demolish Sunderland at home.

Quick question for all those getting rid

Not saying he will, but... Surely having played every single game of the season bar 3 is a reason in itself? (Bitter Eriksen owner.)

      1. bigbudgie
        • 9 Years
        6 years, 11 months ago

But it's the last game of the season. All there is after this is.....holiday
Alli's a key part of that Spurs machine. He deserves to see it out no?

    3. Hotdogs for Tea
      • 8 Years
      6 years, 11 months ago

      - Spurs giving a few fringe players a run out
      - away from home so no 'celebration'
      - Eriksen to start
      - if Alli was starting on Sunday I would have thought he would have been subbed before Dembele and Son, instead of playing 90 minutes

      1. bigbudgie
        • 9 Years
        6 years, 11 months ago

Not trolling but by that logic why wasn't Kane subbed as well?

Ok. Or Dembele. Or Wanyama. Or Toby. My point was that not being subbed doesn't mean he's any more or less likely to play on Sunday. He's played 90 like 11 out of the last 12 GWs.

            1. Hotdogs for Tea
              • 8 Years
              6 years, 11 months ago

              Dembele was subbed ?

3 front line defenders injured so not much option off the bench for Vert to be subbed, not exactly the norm to sub a centre back anyway ?

Wanyama- can't sub everyone and no one really in the bench to do his role ?

That's the whole point, Spurs are spreading the games around during these dead rubbers and midfield is where they have lots of fit players, Alli and Son were the obvious changes to Jansen and Eriksen but the Alli > Eriksen bit didn't happen ... looks like a straight swap this weekend to me

I'm in a similar position regarding to closing the gap to 1k, although I'm going for a different approach.
Since it seems a fair share of people gonna punt, I'll disregard maverick options and differentials and use my 2 transfers on those I think are the best players - and captain the safe/best option.

    Good morning guys.

    Coutinho, Sanchez, Sane, Eriksen, King
    Jesus, Kane (Gabiadini benched)

    2m in the bank (0ft)

How could I improve this front 7?
Is king to Willian worth -4?

    Thanks

    Hello guys;

I really need input on this.. I am 11 points above the second place, my team below:

    Chech - (Caballero)
    Jagielka - Mawson - Yoshida - (Cameron) - (Walker)
    Hazard - Ozil - Sane - Alli - (N'Diaye)
    Jesus - Kane - (Barnes)

    The second place team below:

    Jakupovic - Valdes
    Shawcross - Mcauley - Ward - Holebas - Barragan
    Hazard - King - Sterling - Alli - Firmino
    Kane - Benteke - Vardy

What should i do? Any recommendations? Should i replace Hazard with Couthino?,
what about replacing Hazard and Barnes with Couthino and Origi for a -4 hit?
    Should i do nothing?

Highly improbable as way too many teams overall and new teams added each gameweek.

He is most due a rest/rotation out of:

Aguero, Jesus, KdB, Silva, Sane & Sterling?

Yes, he would be my punt for sure. And Tekkers vs Utd under 12's

Of course he could. United fielding youngsters and Zaha should be looking to have a good game at his old club

So difficult.. Other option is to just play all 4 and bench Gabbi/whoever Gabbi's replacement would have been..

      if we go by elimination

not Jesus, city could score like 2 then go to the beach

not Kane because almost everyone has him, so if you are leading then Kane, if you are chasing the then no

the only viable option is Sanchez, might grab a hatty trying to catch kane

Which of these look better for 38?

    1. Coutinho in for Hazard.
    2. Llorente (Or possibly Origi if Firmino is out) for Gabby.
