FFS Cup

The FFS Cups – Finals

The final Gameweek of the season sees the conclusion of our two Premier League cup competitions. Here we reveal who has made it through the finals as well as the managers competing in the third place play-off matches.

K3lviN took giant killing to new levels to book his seat in our open to all cup final, after seeing off 134 ranked Live Hall of Fame top ten manager My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg). This 80,381 ranked manager’s sensational score of 199 proved too much for Peter’s 180 return in Gameweek 37.

He will meet another Goliath in the final after 740 ranked Sleepysi defeated Choppers13 in his semi-final.

Of the pair K3lviN has the experience of pressure, having finished 2012/13 second in the overall rankings. Sleepysi’s top 10,000 ranking in 2013/14 also means he is no stranger to impressive end of season runs.

In terms of key differentials, Sleepysi has Spurs’ Christian Eriksen, who should start away to Hull City on Sunday after was rested against Leicester City last night. He will also be hoping for an Arsenal clean sheet, at home to Everton, with Petr Cech expected to be fielded by Sleepysi alongside Nacho Monreal, who is owned by both.

For K3lviN he has Southampton’s Nathan Redmond, Leroy Sane of Manchester City and Spurs full-back Ben Davies as his main differentials.

Chelsea’s teamsheet could prove decisive, with Sleepysi stocked up with Eden Hazard, Marcos Alonso and Pedro, while his opponent has Cesar Azpilicueta as well as the Blues’ Belgian schemer.

With two free transfers to play it remains to be seen whether they will make dramatic changes. Philippe Coutinho may be one key target ahead of Liverpool’s home clash with Middlesbrough. The Brazilian could also offer a strong differential armband option.

With a £200 Amazon voucher to the winner and £100 to the runner-up, risks may need to be taken.

There’s a £50 voucher up for grabs for the winner of Choppers13 and My Pretty Pony’s third place play off.

In the Members Cup aspern goes through the final by the closest of margins, with his 2890 rank proving the difference after both he and his 4120 placed semi-final opponent Dynamic scored 175.

He will meet 8122 ranked Malaikat Jahad, who had a far easier semi-final, seeing off Barwood 196-171.

Of the Members Cup’s two finalists, Malaikat is the more seasoned veteran, with two top 10,000 finishes in his previous nine seasons. In contrast, aspern is in his third campaign and has yet to finish in the top 100,000.

Both only have one transfer to play and aspern may be tempted to use it to ditch Southampton’s misfiring striker Manolo Gabbiadini, who netted zero points in double Gameweek 37 after a no-show and missed penalty. Aspern’s key differentials include Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Eriksen, Bournemouth’s in-form midfielder Josh King and Leicester City’s Marc Albrighton.

For Malaikat he will be hoping his differentials Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham duo Heung-Min Son, and Dele Alli will be more than a match.

As with our open to all contest, the winner of this final will scoop a £200 Amazon voucher, with £100 going to the runner up.

A £50 voucher is available to the winner of Barwood and Dynamic’s play off.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

    1) Company (wat) or 2) Llorente for -4 (BUR) and play all out attack.

Hey all, I have been an avid read without contributing much on here this season. So thanks for all the great advice, it has got me into the top 500 & top of my cash league by 50 points. The worry is that I don’t have Kane and rival will (C) him and with a few other bits of bad luck I think it is possible to lose the lead.

Also worried that Baily, Kompany, Hazard, Anichebe and Gabi won’t feature leaving me with only 9 starters

    Cech
    Baily, Davies, Alonso, Kompany
    Hazard, Ali, Sanchez, King, Ozil
    Jesus

(DDG, Stephens, Gabi, Anichebe) 1 FT, 0.5m ITB

    A) Gabi to Llorente / Vokes
    B) Hazard to Coutihno / KDB
    C) Gabi & Harzard to Kane & Albrighton -4 (or other 5.5m nailed on mid for the bench)
    D) Other

Just to confuse things I am only 10 points behind for May manager of the month (worth £300) but I think I need to play safe and be certain of the overall win and top 500!

You have to play safe, so C

only way he can catch you is by you not owing Kane

Yeah C seems logical for the situation. Certainlly wouldn't do it if i had nothing to play for but no point taking silly risks now i guess

If you're concerned about your ML, C looks okay
      Stanislas also a good option

Yeah i would love Stanislas but for me he is 75% starter. Really need a 100% option like Albrighton

      C

I am 13 points ahead in cash league and rival has Kane. It will cost me 8 points and I will need to lose Alexis for Kane. But I'm doing it, cos if I dont and he (c's) Kane, I will lose the pot.

Fair enough, i assume he doesn't have Alexis either, otherwise you are equally vulnerable to him.

Yeah i think it has got to be about protecting the lead and hoping the rival doesn't get lucky with his final GW punt

    Final call out

Hazard and Gab coming out. 17m in bank. I have no Pool or City cover. What to do.

Rest of front 7 will be

    Sanchez Ozil King Eriksen
    Kane

    (Victor rotting on bench)

    Thanks!

    A. Sane and Jesus
    B. Kevin and Origi
    C. Phil and Vokes
    D. Keep Hazard, just Vokes or Origi

leaning towards A, but please advise

can't afford first combo, Danny 9.6, what a joke that is!

second is an option, thanks, will consider that

I am more worried about city than pool. Less likely to not come in top four and Watford no manager and no fit defence

I think you need to look at it in a slightly different way - whether we score loads or not you've got to fancy Coutinho to be involved in anything that does happen. He's on corners, free-kicks, is the chief creative force and carries a goal threat himself.

Cause City's health insurance defence is not good. Watford will just be all out attack on the final day. Nothing to lose, may as well score some goals. Scored 3 at the Bridge (b team yes but will still boost confidence)

Kompany got an injury of some kind in the last game and managed to shake it off and play for 70 odd mins. I'm worried he'll either not play 90, or won't start and come in if Stones gets injured

Playing 90 minutes is not the sole reason for me. However, he does often get subbed off before 90 so that was odd (probably just wanting the win, though).

Obviously Hazard will start the cup final, so I'm just wondering if Conte might give Willian and/or Pedro a run-out before the final. At least one of those two won't start, so it's almost last-chance saloon.

Having said that, I reckon Hazard will at least take part.

Definitely a possibility but some seem quite certain.

My theory about the last game is that he doesn't drink and therefore was not as worse for wear as some of the others.

Serious question, what would people think about changing transfer deadline to 30 minutes before so you could see team sheets?

This is case in some other games and indeed was in the short lived ultimate fantasy game they ran.

Imagine how much stress and frustration would be removed from the game. Not to mention with the fast price rises this year making that decision more significant of early transfer or wait until the team sheet.

    Thoughts? Genuinely interested.

I support your decision. Some of the games I play in have a policy of closing deadline just before the game starts. I think that would be a good move as it prevents us the burden of speculation.

I am protecting a 16 point lead, but am a little worried.

Main differences are (opponent players first)

Costa vs King (he will play 3-4-3 and probably bench King; I am playing 3-5-2)
    Son vs Sanchez
    Pedro vs Hazard
    Cahill vs Azpi

Should I use my FT to block one of his differentials (something I never do); or go Alli to Coutinho for example?

    Team as follows:

    Caballero
    Davies Azpi Monreal
    Sanchez Hazard Alli Sane King
    Kane Jesus

    (Pickford, Stephens, Yoshida Gabbi)

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks fellas. Yes, my main worry is my two Chelsea played the full 90 mins against Watford, meaning there is a risk they might not start. But no point in trading either of them out in case Conte goes with his strongest 11 (I think he will).

So I think I will go Alli to Coutinho or Fabregas.
