The Numbers Game – Swansea City

Swansea City are the next side to be assessed as part of our in-depth team-by-team analysis series for members.

We start by checking in on the team statistics in an attempt to spot trends or improvements over the past 12 months before we shift to analyse player data, as we attempt to narrow the field ahead of the new campaign.

Having been ensconced in the security of mid-table in 2015/16 – claiming 47 points to finish in twelfth position – the Swans were left floundering last season. With just three wins in the opening 19 Gameweeks of 2016/17, the Welsh outfit looked doomed at the midway point until the arrival of Paul Clement.

Appointed as successor to Francesco Guidolin, the new manager chalked up four victories in his first six fixtures to steer his side out of the drop zone. Swansea ultimately clinched fifteenth spot on 41 points – seven clear of relegation, scoring 45 goals.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Tripper by a mile (despite Soton fixtures).
If spurs doesn't sign a RB, Tripper is one of the most undervalued players in the game imo.
He has better delivery than Walker (priced at 6.5m) and Spurs will probably play 3-4-3 with Son out (essentially making him a winger).
Wembley factor or not, get him in 😉

From a horse no less. My cousin, a dog trainer, does not hesitate when I asked her this question, a labradoodle -- great size, trainable, great disposition, good size, very trainable, and even hypoallergenic.

Me and the GF got a Miniature Schnauzer at Easter, a great dog, energetic, loves being around people, amuses herself at times, intelligent etc. House training took no time. We're lucky that we have my Mum living locally who looks after her whilst we are both at work, that's the main thing to consider when thinking about getting a dog.

No current Premier League side has recruited more players than Watford over the past 5 seasons.

    Top 3:
    Watford - 105
    Palace - 77
    Huddersfield - 75

      As mentioned on previous page;
Having Kane as a captain option is fairly valuable to me. Not a ton of 100% nailed strikers for good teams, with penalty + some FKs duties, that does not get subbed early.

      Decent option, but:

      - He's getting old
      - Might not have pens
      - Probably first choice but could get rotated occationally/subbed early (Afobe and Wilson will probably see some pitch time).
      - Awkward price

Got him in my team at the moment (along with Jesus and Lukaku), but got to say this 8m makes midfield but weaker than most teams round here.
Do you think that fit Stanislas could cover some of Defoe's points and let me spend 2m somewhere else ?

Don't really get this thinking. Work out which attacker you bench in the 1st 5 GWs including transfers and you'll work out where the wasted money is.

                    It's all fixture based.

I don't really think it's a waste of money having all this flexibility and security early in the season.

I don't have to rush transfers and I can easily downgrade some bench players to bring it the big hitters once they start popping up.

It's an advanced strategy I don't expect many to use it but it's worked for me ever start of the season. And the fourth week wildcard before the break is always an option.

Maybe it's wasted money I don't see it that way no players I want that I don't have becuase of my rotation Bench.

Very different. I kind of like the Herrera punt. Go Zaha over Ramsey - you don't need double Arsenal. Looks like a lot of money on your bench. I guess you'll be rotating Daniels, Herrera and Rooney?

      Dont like:

Cedric (no pre-season, could be benched GW1)
Lindelof (Mou stated he will be eased in, Jones to pair Bailly in the beginning)
Hererra (Very low ceiling, gets a lot of YC)
Fab (Rotation risk, will be benched away at spurs if last year is any indication)
Rooney (awful fixtures, might not be on set pieces, dont know for certain how advanced he will play).

        • 7 Years

Cheers for the advice about Lindelof.

I Made a mistake with Cedric he's not in it.

I guess I could get Per as he starts forna while until Lindelof is eased in.

The other 3 mids will be rotated. I'm fairly sure Fabregas
Will play more going by his amazing stats and Conte saying he changed his mind about selling Fabregas
        As he's proved
        his worth .

I'd personally downgrade Alonso but you're fine

    Choose:

    A) Dawson
    B) Daniels
    C) Ake

Dawson is tempting with those fixtures plus goal threat and I don't like the look of Bournemouth's fixtures.

Not saying we should read too much into pre season but I do wonder if the other day Aguero's 2 efforts had gone in instead of hitting the post how it would have affected his ownership level....

I totally get that. It's just that personally, I don't really see a 5.0/5.5 doing that much better than a 4.5. I think JWP has the potential, but I don't think punts are to start with, but to bring in at the right time.

I don't see the point difference between Yoshida and Bertrand being too great, and Francis is a bit of a rotation risk with Ake in and the rightback spot being up in the air.

Decent option and great fixtures. Be interesting to hear from Saints fans. I would say he has a very good chance to start but there's quite a few midfield options for Southampton around that price..

Hello everyone, I would appreciate an RMT of this (probably 20th) draft squad.

      Foster (Myhill)
Hegazi - Kolasinac - Yoshida (Hunemeier - Rangel)
Alli - De Bruyne - Pogba - Willian (Carroll)
      Kane(V) - Lukaku(C) - Solanke

      £0 ITB

      Thanks!

If you're set on Hart then go with him and Elliot as your number 2. Or maybe a double up on Fabianski & Nordfeldt for a "set & forget" option.

And that Batistuta goal past Seaman is still the hardest shot I've ever seen - and I was in at Anfield for Riise's free kick vs Utd!
