Dugout Discussion – Stoke vs Arsenal

The day’s events draw to a close at the bet365 stadium as Stoke City host Arsenal and, from a Fantasy perspective, the interest rests almost entirely with the Gunners.

Alexandre Lacazette will bid to follow up his debut strike to reward his 18.5% ownership, while the 372,000+ who have moved for Granit Xhaka this week will be hoping for instant dividends. The Swiss midfielder has been the most popular signing following his brace of assists in Gameweek 1, with 71,000+ arriving at him as a replacement for the injured Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace.

Aaron Ramsey has proved another popular solution for that particular problem, with 34,000+ making the direct swap to the Welshman from the Eagles winger. Like Lacazette, he will look to add to his Gameweek 1 goal as he returns to the scene of his horrific double leg break back in February 2010.

Interest in Mark Hughes’ men is largely limited to Joe Allen in midfield. A key budget target for a spell last season, he is owned by 4.1% heading into this encounter, as the Potters look to kick-start their campaign following last weekend’s tepid 1-0 defeat at Everton.

    Guessing some others are clamouring for Pogba or Mkhi right now.

    Temptation to take out KDB or Mane is strong, can't see how else to afford it, don't want the price to run away from me...

    Would also allow the funds to do Jesus to Kane for next week...

      I am a Mane owner myself and today he proved his 0.5 worth over Salah, so for me he has to stay.

      KDB has played half the minutes of Mane (and most other mids), give him a chance and see how he performs this GW, yes Pogba and Mkhi may rise but bearing in mind we all see ourselves WCing in the coming weeks do we really need to chase the price rises?

      They have a lot of fixtures the next few weeks, so expect rotation.

      There are a few cheaper options emerging, and could downgrading could lead to improving elsewhere, especially from what we've seen today!

      Not an owner but Firmino hasn't looked that good FPL wise in my opinion. Played two solid games but not that close to assist/goals except for the penalty. Although penalties may be reason enough to keep him, but we're not really sure who's taking the next one..

    Based on Ramsey's involvement so far, it's looking like KDB + Iwobi > Mkhi + Ramsey for me

    Just got to assess whether Ramsey is actually going to score goals frequently of not.

      Agree. Valencia's attacking instincts are currently limited and Jones at 5.0m is the cheapest option into MU's defence.

        There's no reasoning in that argument whatsoever. People save wildcards for doubles that generally end up being worth very little. It does not take 19 games to assess a wildcard, something that is practically impossible anyway

          Yes obviously I am a terrible person based of a little banter on a football website. I still think its way too early to WC after one GW though no matter what your team looks like, because the same people won't necessarily score again just because they did in the first GW. I'm all for early WC though, but I think week 3-5 is optimal. Good luck with rest of season.
