The Gameweek 3 Team News

Alexis Sanchez is back for Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool, with Laurent Koscielny also available again following suspension.

Manuel Lanzini is in contention to return for West Ham’s trip to Newcastle, but Xherdan Shaqiri is a doubt for Stoke City’s trip to West Brom due to a hamstring injury.

Here’s our summary of the team news so far ahead of Gameweek 3.

Arsene Wenger revealed Alexis Sanchez is available for Sunday’s trip to Liverpool, while Laurent Koscielny is back from suspension. However, Calum Chambers (groin) is a new injury doubt for Anfield.

Liverpool are again without Philippe Coutinho, while Jurgen Klopp will also need to check on Trent Alexander-Arnold, who suffered a dead leg in the midweek Champions League victory over Hoffenheim. The two-goal hero in that match – Emre Can – is also a doubt after suffering a knock, with Klopp optimistic of his chances of facing the Gunners.

Leon Britton is available for Swansea City’s trip to Crystal Palace after returning to training on Thursday following a back problem. Tomorrow’s match comes to soon for Fernando Llorente, who should return after the international break. Defender Kyle Bartley has been ruled out for between six to eight weeks with a knee ligament injury.

For the Eagles, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been ruled out due to a groin problem, while Wilfried Zaha is still unavailable.

Eddie Howe has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Bournemouth’s home meeting with Manchester City, although Simon Francis and Junior Stanislas remain sidelined. Jermain Defoe played 90 minutes in midweek and is in contention to make his first Premier League start for the Cherries.

David Wagner has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the home meeting against Southampton. Latest signings Abdelhamid Sabiri and Florent Hadergjonaj are unlikely to be considered for starts.

Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino will decide today whether new signing Wesley Hoedt will feature for the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium. Mario Lemina is a slight doubt due to a shin injury.

Slaven Bilic will have Manuel Lanzini and Cheikhou Kouyate available for the trip to Newcastle United. Marko Arnautovic is suspended, while Winston Reid (calf) is also out. Andy Carroll has returned to training following a hip injury, but may have to wait until after the international break for a first-team return.

Watford trio Daryl Janmaat, Younes Kaboul and Roberto Pereyra remain out for the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion to Vicarage Road, while Jose Holebas misses out due to suspension. Craig Cathcart is nearing full fitness, and could feature for the Hornets.

Chris Hughton will again be without the injured Izzy Brown (hamstring) for the trip to Watford, but Glenn Murray is expected to shake off a minor ankle problem. Club-record signing Jose Izquierdo will be included in the match-day squad.

Wes Morgan, Jamie Vardy, Danny Drinkwater and Nampalys Mendy have all trained fully ahead of the trip to Manchester United, while Harry Maguire (knock) and Kelechi Iheanacho (toe) are being monitored. The pair should be available though, with Robert Huth and Vicente Iborra likely to be the only absentees.

Jonny Evans (hamstring) is expected to miss West Bromwich Albion’s home encounter against Stoke City, while James Morrison will be assessed after returning from injury in midweek. Claudio Yacob (hamstring) is a slight doubt, but Gareth McAuley (thigh) remains sidelined. Head coach Tony Pulis will assess the fitness of new signing Oliver Burke today to see whether the midfielder can play a part on Sunday.

For the Potters, Xherdan Shaqiri is Mark Hughes’ only injury concern. The Swiss international was forced off with a hamstring problem against Arsenal last weekend, with the Stoke boss admitting they won’t take any risks with the playmaker.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

I feel like Marcus Alonso is a strange breed who will score more points against the good teams.
When Chelsea play the lower teams, they usually unleash Haz/Pedro/Willian a bit more, and Alonso doesn't need to bomb on. Against the big clubs he becomes basically the most attacking option as the midfielders box in, and he bombs down the touchlines.

Yes, I bought him in this week, plan on playing him every game until I decide to get rid of him, always threatens to break the 10point barrier

Monreal is a risk? Why? He is pretty safe IMHO.

Team looks decent but you must have a very weak bench.

Anyone notice any good stats that might help this week e.g.. Liverpool let in more big chances down the left hand side arsenal play more on the right so Sanchez a good pick. Not saying this is true just think more articles should be done about teams weakness and strengths to help us pick the right players

Mbemba is a short-term pick. So is Hegazi (they are in the market for Wimmer and McAuley will come back). Jese has poor fixtures, Salah a rotation threat, Bavies perhaps may lose his place to Rose.
