Dugout Discussion – West Ham vs Huddersfield

The Gameweek concludes at the London Stadium where West Ham are treated to their first home game of the campaign against Huddersfield Town.

At the start of the season, this appeared to be a fixture which would have seen us back the Hammers’ assets for returns. Three games in and the outlook is very different.

The Terriers turn up undefeated and with no goals conceded. That form has seen the likes of goalkeeper Jonas Lossl and defender Zanka pick up 8.4% and 10.4% ownership respectively. Meanwhile, playmaker Aaron Mooy is backed by 12.9% having produced a goal and an assist to this point.

But West Ham have the best-supported player on show tonight.

Chicharito is part of 1.4 million squads and is backed by 159,000+ (3.3%) with the captaincy.

Significantly, he’ll be supported by Andy Carroll in the West Ham attack, in what appears to be a 3-5-2 set-up deployed by the under pressure Slaven Bilic.

Joe Hart is the next best owned West Ham asset in action, although 71% of his 500,000 owners have chosen to bench him ahead of tonight’s clash.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

There are a lack of certain starters in the first team if you accommodate for the substitutes. I have tried but managers rotate players for midweek.

        team currently:

        Foster
        Bertrand/Cedric/Davies/Jones

        Mane/Eriksen/Alli/Pogba

        Firmino/Lukaku

        Elliot/Carroll/Naughton/Quaner

getting rid of Mane before the drop, so need a mid replacement, but not too keen on Mahrez, would rather have Vardy, so thinking a double swap, Vardy plus one of Gross/Choupo

nearly had Gross at start of season, good value for position but Brighton seem to lack attacking threat except for last game, don't know if they've changed up tactics a bit, I'm not sure between the two of Gross and Choupo, whichever one I pick is bound to be the wrong one lol

    GK Foster Elliot
DEF Alonso, Bavies, Cedric, Ward, , Jones
MID Erikson, Mikhi, Richarlison, Mooy, Carroll
    FWD Chico, Morata, Lukaku

Kane is coming in for Chico to do that I will sell alonso.

For-4 I can do Alonso to Games and Chico to Kane
For -8 Alonso to Lascelles, Richarlison to Choupo-Moting and Chico to Kane.

    The -8 is obviously safer.

    A) Yoshida -> Jones
    B) Yoshida -> 4.5, then Bertrand for Kola for GW6 and GW7 before WC
    C) Save FT and play Atsu

If I do that. Would Bertrand for Kola, Yoshida to 3.9 for GW6. Would leave me 1.0 ITB for 1 FT before WC.

I think I like that. Jones should be nailed though and could have 1-3 CS in him.

Thanks. I guess I can work something better with 2 in GW6. And I doubt Everton will be that bad for two weeks in a row.

I need to get rid of Chicharito, even for a hit. I've got £7.7 to spend, any suggestions?

Depends on the rest of your team. Might be worth bringing in a cheap 3rd striker and getting a premium midfielder

        Lossl
        Cedric Jones Alonso Bavies

        Lukaku Chich Kane

          Can't really see standout options.
Brady+Chica to D.Silva and a Cheap 3rd could be an option but i would rather save

I'm keeping him for the next 3 game weeks. There are no good options and no funds for Vardy/Firmino so it is what it is.

I think Joselu a great buy but he's not going to get points every week.

If you can use the money saved to strengthen elsewhere could be worth it.

        Andy Carroll?

        Huge differential.

Long-term more nailed than the Club Captain Lascelles (yeah I didn't get that either when I found that out too)...

Ward has Liverpool, Nyom plays West Ham so for me Clark makes sense and hope for a CS or a threat from set pieces. If you really want to be punty, go for Yedlin £4.4m and may well start playing this GW...

I hear that, I'm fed up of seeing their points on the bench so I'm going to try a double up of Elliot and Clark/Yedlin for the next few weeks, can't be any worse than West Brom atm and I need to replace Hegazi. Time to cash in on that one.
Newcastle defend better than people think imo
