Dugout Discussion – Leicester vs West Brom

Gameweek 8 concludes at the King Power Stadium with Leicester City hosting West Bromwich Albion.

The Fantasy Football community will be torn heading into this encounter, with allegiances split between the home attack and the Baggies backline.

Jamie Vardy is undoubtedly the star turn on show. Owned by 16.3% of managers, the five-goal striker was brought in by 294,000 ahead of Gameweek 8, the third most popular transfer target. He has goals in his last two in front of his own supporters, but is yet to score against West Brom at home in three attempts.

Elsewhere for the Foxes, Harry Maguire boasts an ownership of 7.4%, attracting just over 40,000 new managers prior to Saturday’s deadline. The centre-back has a goal and an assist from his three home appearances so far.

Ahmed Hegazi remains the most popular asset in the West Brom camp. Still part of 1.3 million squads, he’s been benched by 353,000 (26.9%) ahead of tonight’s clash.

Meanwhile, Ben Foster was due to be backed by an ownership of just over 800,000 but will play no part in tonight’s match having been ruled out with a knee problem. Over 347,000 of his managers named Foster in their starting XI and now turn to their reserve keeper.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Any consensus out there on Kane to Ageuro?

Have Eriksen and Sterling. City double up obviously the more appealing, right?

Depends on City team tomorrow night. If Jesus gets 90 and Aguero doesn't then it'll be a popular transfer.

Yeah, was thinking that. Hard to lose Kane, but he is the most expensive and not exactly reliable.

Wait till tomorrow night. If Aguero doesn't play 90. he's in my team.

Assuming no CL injuries any changes needed or is it looking OK and save free transfer? Cedric to Jones on free or Vardy to Morata if fit and Azpilicueta to 5.1 m defender (-4) main temptations

    Elliot
    Azpilicueta Cedric Davies
    Sterling Choupo-Moting DSilva Richarlison
    Kane Lukaku (c) Vardy

    Pope Loftus-Cheek Fernandez Ward

    A) Mkhi and JRod > 4.5mid and morata

    B) Mkhi and JRod > Sterling and Gabbiadini

I have Trippier and I'm confident that he won't rotate with Aurier very much. After all, Trippier hardly got a game in last season with Walker head of him. All this rotation malarkey is just a load of baloney.

Getting rid, I think - although many have advised otherwise. Tough fixtures, a greater degree of rotation looming. He'll get some hauls, but he is a bit of a worry.

    (B) Alli -> Richarlison and Vardy -> Aguero for a hit (assuming Aguero fit)

    Fabianski
    Naughton - Cedric - Maguire - Jones
    Alli - Sterling - Salah
    Kane - Lukaku - Vardy

Think A is safer, but Vardy was so crap tonight

      A) Brady

There are other weeks to punt. Let's just stick to the things we know for now and let players and teams hit form before we get them in. This coming from a guy who got Hazard in on WC before he had really proven anything.

I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that 4-4-2 is going to be the best long term formation this year. 3 big hitters up front is going to be hard to sustain and a mid-range 3rd striker such as Chico, Vardy or Firmino just aren't going to get regular points.

I think Vardy will get regular points and Firmino may start ticking along after next gw but 442 may be a plan, just unsure of relying of defensive points to a greater extent, historically they usually get outscored by mids and attackers

But premium defenders only cost approx 6mil to compensate for their relative lesser chance of points. Could go 3-5-2 either with 3 strong mids, a guy like Richarldson and a RLC/TC.

5 blanks in a row from my 3rd striker (Firmino x3, Vardy x2). Not sure if I would switch to 4-4-2 but definitely considering downgrading to Abraham and using the money elsewhere.

          Best £4.0M “enabling” defender??

I’m thinking Mariappa looks most likely to start each game?

Could be Hunemeier if Duffy is out for a while.

Ye Iv got him already... Mariappa has started last 4... Mbemba looks to be a no go unless someone is injured in the Newcastle defense...
