The ScoutCast – Episode 236 – Pepped

Restored to a five-strong squad, this week’s ScoutCast is still resonating from the shock of Man City’s seven-slice goal pie, served up by Pep at the expense of Stoke City.

That avalanche of goals and points fell into the laps of two of the ScoutCast crew, as Jonty and Andy bask in their post-Pep Wildcard success.

Others weren’t so fortunate, as we tell the tale of an unfortunate 11-point refresh and Az’s 32-point Gameweek misery that has since sparked his own Wildcard activity.

City dominate the community questions driving this 90-minute episode, while we also revisit the Harry Kane debate, fuelled by his latest Wembley misfire.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Salah or Cout instead of Haz gives a lovely balance - also gives another 1.5 to either spread across the bench or upgrade One of Naughton/Hunemeir/Mbemba to a 5.5 or 6.0... Trippier, Jones, Luiz all good options, or DDG as GK, or even bank it for a future Jesus > Kun... plus I'd rather have Salah/Morata than Haz/Morata than be too reliant on Chelsea attack

Id wait. Reason is Vardy has had one bad week, which I think was due to playing up top with Nacho. He has a track record in the pre, is on penalties and have decent fixtures coming up.

Morata I think will play limited minutes against Watford - go 2-0 up and be subbed. Was very surprised he went from 0 minutes on saturday to 90 on Wednesday after a hamstring injury.

Im assuming that will also leave you with a forward line of Morata, Kane/Lukaku/Jesus - thats a lot of money in your forward line, especially with some big price mids starting to perform.

Monitor price changes, but I would stick with Vardy for now.

I think one of (Kun, Sterling, Sané, Jesus) will start on bench - Kun & Sterling played least minutes during the week... so that leaves one of Jesus/Sané to be benched... Sané played more minutes than Jesus (180 mins in last 6 days vs Jesus 146 mins)... but Jesus did a lot of travelling during the international break. Both are playing well so toss a coin.

I own Jesus Sterling so hoping they get 25 points between them, either from the start or off the bench I'm not fussed.

    6. Ramboros
      • 12 Years
      6 years, 8 months ago

      Nah.

They probably think Jesus and Sané aren't going to play because they played nearly the full game against Napoli.

I would say Sané played the full game because he's the only one who can fulfil the left wing role properly in tandem with Delph playing at the back. Guardiola will have to change some roles around if he's going to rotate him.

I doubt Agüero is fit enough to place Jesus on the bench when he didn't get subbed on against Napoli.

I also feel Sane is more suited to the left compared to the others and hence has a higher chance of playing, so by deciding to play Aguero, only one of Jesus/Sterling will play on the right.

If kun plays jesus will be left of a 3man fwd. if kun benched jesus will be centre. Sterling will be on the left or right. Sane bench until the 70th min.

This is how i see it

Not as a winger but left side of 3 man fwd.

It's all speculation from those guys - it's highly unlikely that they know anything that we don't know already. Aguero hasn't played for 1 month so he's not match fit - so whilst he could start, it would be starting knowing that you won't be able to play a full match.

Usually match fitness is built up by playing at the end of games, not the beginning.

Who to sell first out of

Foster (2nd GK Elliott) or Chicarito

Could possibly downgrade Chicharito to Abraham, use the money to invest elsewhere next week, or in another City midfielder for a hit. Alternatively, you could upgrade Foster to DDG.

In terms of priority, I'd probably say Chicharito out first. Eliot covers the next few fixtures nicely.

What would you do in my situation? Worried with just Silva to cover City, but is Eriksen really worth removing for Sterling?

    Eliot
    Davies* | Jones* | Daniels
    Eriksen | Salah | Silva | Ritchie
    Kane | Lukaku | Joselu

Bench: Foster* | Carroll | Ward | Long

    1FT, 0 itb. Wildcard available.

    A) Eriksen -> Sterling
    B) Davies -> Otamendi
    C) Save FT

With the wildcard in the back pocket, probably to be activated in GW12, losing Eriksen for Sterling is somewhat appealing, since I can get Eriksen back in with minimal fuss. Would you do it?

B for me. Either that or save. Choupo-Moting looks good value, the fixtures are good, and I don't really have any confidence in Brady.

Kane on the other hand, I have a much more difficult time convincing myself to sell, so A doesn't look ideal to me.

I think Morata has the fixtures to at least stay within 80% of Kane's points... that's all he needs to do with his cheaper price tag (ignoring captaincy)

But I actually think Morata could outscore Kane over next few games. Then again Kane is famous for this - goes quiet during easy games then goes mental during a run of tougher or away games

    Elliot
    Monreal, Fernandez, Davies
    Eriksen, Salah, Silva, Groß
    Kane, Lukaku, Rodriguez

    Bench: Foster, Carroll, Britos, Mee

    2 FT ... £0.2 itb

    ***

Not really sure what to do here. Davies and JRod needs to go if possible, but that doesn't give me much flexibility.

Of course I would like to get Morata, Jesus, Sterling etc but it's hard to manage.

    Some alternatives:
    A) Davies & JRod > Jones & Abraham
    B) Eriksen & JRod > Sterling & Abraham (+ £1.8)
    C) Eriksen, JRod & Davies > Choupo-Moting, Morata & Jones
    D) Eriksen, JRod & Davies > Richarlison, Morata & Daniels

    Appreciate any advice. Cheers!
