Dugout Discussion – Spurs vs Liverpool

After Arsenal swept aside Everton at Goodison Park, we turn our attentions to Wembley Stadium as Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool bring the curtain down on Gameweek 9.

All eyes are on Harry Kane, who is still seeking his first league goal at Spurs’ temporary home.

Despite that record, he is second only to Romelu Lukaku in the race for the Gameweek 9 captaincy – 18.4% of FPL managers have handed him the armband.

Given that only two of the top 10 captains have scored so far, a haul from Kane could have a major impact on the overall standings.

Elsewhere for the hosts, Ben Davies is passed fit to return but surprisingly has to settle for a spot on the bench along with Danny Rose.

Sold by over 195,000+ FPL managers last week, the Welshman has started just two of the last five Gameweeks and next faces a weekend trip to Old Trafford.

For the visitors, Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino have the chance to play their way into our plans as the fixtures turn in Liverpool’s favour from Gameweek 10.

And James Milner – listed as a defender in FPL – could also be one to watch as an out of position option, with Jurgen Klopp naming him in midfield this afternoon.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I feel this is a bit exaggerated. He's only been rested once, which was the Swansea game. The other two games he's missed is due to his recent illness. He was just not fit enough yet to start today, having just recovered from said illness
Ben Davies is in the form of his life right now and the LB spot is his to lose as long as he's healthy

Mids are making a comeback while the season of forwards looks under threat and 5 at the back teams in my mini leagues are dropping like stones.

A front line of premium strikers with two good midfielders still OK I think.

Bavies & Jesus > Otamendi & Aguero for free? Yay or nay? Thanks.

Deliberated on Davies to Otamendi all week. Did brady to Zaha instead, painful.

    Think i've cracked it.

Kane permanent captain. If I did this I'd be about 50 points better off, no joke!

Agree with this. Perhaps not against Utd home and away. But everyone else he can score against.

Why not? He is in great form. Utd's defence not great at Huddersfield after Jones went off.

He is absolutely amazing.. but would not cap.him next week.. or against any top teams away from home

Arsenal is a top team, and I would always captain Kane against them in a heartbeat

Yeah that was my policy going into this week ignoring all the jokers telling me to put it on Kaku or Jesus.

Yup, I am thinking the same.
He will get +7PPG , my seasonal captaincy average is about 6.5PPG, so kane is the better choice
