The Technical Area – Silva Under Assessment

As we all know too well, the world of Fantasy football can be a fickle one. Within the space of a Gameweek or two, a must-have acquisition can quickly become dispensable in our quest for the latest man in form.

But patience, as our mothers dutifully instilled in us, is a virtue. And over the course of a long and tumultuous season, it could well be rewarded.

Arguably, nowhere is this erratic ownership cycle more prominent than in the recent case of David Silva.

The Manchester City playmaker, whose ownership ballooned from 160,000 to almost 1.5 million over the course of the first nine Gameweeks, has since found himself shunned. Almost 100,000 owners have parted company as of last weekend, earning him the ignominy of being the week’s most-sold player in Fantasy Premier League.

The appeal of Silva, in theory at least, is twofold.

The reliability of his pitch-time (he has started every Premier League match, playing 870 of a potential 900 minutes to date) has combined with the consistency of his point returns (attacking points in 50% of his matches, including two double-figure hauls) and a fondness for bonus points (an average of 15 baseline BPS per week).

Are managers right to jettison Silva at this juncture? Or is the case of an itchy trigger finger leading us down a dangerous path?

This week’s Technical Area will dive into Silva’s recent performances in order to determine the appropriate strategy for his still-numerous manager base moving forward.

Who is it rotates well with newcastle??

looking at a 4-3-3/3-4-3 rotation with Ritchie, i still feel he's a good option at home.

Yeah might go for Abraham. I would have to get rid of Morata or Aguero though since I want Kane. Would you prefer Kane/aguero/abraham or Kane/Morata/Abraham.

I have Tammy. Bringing in Gross after the break. To answer your question, Tammy for the next 4 or 5 games. Because you don't have a lot of decent budget strikers to pick from.

The problem I have with Löwe is he's never brought me any points despite not being that bad, I've always benched his clean sheets and played him twice for 1 or 2 pointers. I've learned it the hard way that there are very unlikely scorers in derbies and who knows what Bellerin can get me. A jammy goal for WBA and I easily bench the wrong player, could bench Joselu maybe, but he's a troll. Thanks.

        Afternoon chaps (and chapesses?)

Saving a FT this week to take 2 into the break.

        Good to go?

        Fabianski

        Alonso – Davies – Cedric – Ward

Could do with some feedback on this team my thought process chaps!

        Forster
        Walker - Cedric - Trippier - Davies - Maguire
        Sane - Hazard
        Kane(c) - Morata - Vardy

        Bench: Elliot, Surman, Carroll, Carrick

My main concern is the Trippier/ Davies double up but I am hopeful that at least 1 of the 2 will play. My second concern is potential rotation of Sane. That said, I feel Surman and Carroll and their fixtures are sufficient cover for this week. Also, I would very much like to into the international break with 2 FT.

Would you play DDG (che) or Elliot (BOU)?

I feel like keeping faith in DDG who I have had in goal all season, but that home fixture looks pretty good for Newcastle.
