Free Yahoo FFS Holiday Cup

Fantasy Football Scout have teamed up with partner game Yahoo to set up the inaugural Holiday Cup contest.

Free to enter, this is a single-entry contest and there’s a total of £500 up for grabs in the contest, which takes place over the next four Gameweeks.

Scoring will be cumulative over the four rounds and your one lowest score will be dropped – that means you can afford to have an off-day and still profit.

The top 20 overall will earn winnings, with £50 going to the manager at the summit.

And the top 15 entries per round also receive prizes, with the top scorer from each of the four Gameweek rounds winning £10.

Crucially, it gets underway on Saturday December 23 at 12.45pm, when Everton entertain Chelsea at Goodison Park and finishes on Wednesday January 3, when Arsenal host Chelsea.

This means that, over the span of Gameweek 19-22, there are two Premier League matches excluded from the Yahoo FFS Holiday Cup contest – Arsenal vs Liverpool on Friday December 22 in Gameweek 19 and Spurs vs West Ham on Thursday January 4 in Gameweek 22.

The starting times of each round are as follows:

Round 1 – Saturday December 23 at 12.30pm
Round 2 – Tuesday December 26 at 12.30pm
Round 3 – Saturday December 30 at 3.00pm
Round 4 – Monday January 1 at 12.30pm

Please remember that Fantasy managers must select a new team for each Gameweek before the round gets underway.

To get involved, click here.

We’ve previously published a Strategy Guide on the Yahoo game, though later in the week, we’ll also offer analysis on some of the overlooked players who have fared well in their Opta-driven scoring system to help you further.

For those yet to register, you can open an account and get started immediately.

You must be over 18 years of age, resident in the UK, and of legal capacity to register with Yahoo Daily Sports and open an Account. If you sign up, please always play responsibly.

Hey guys, how to fit a City player into this front 8?

    Salah-Coutinho-Hazard-Richarlison-RLC
    Kane-Morata-Niasse

Have 2FT and 0.4 in the bank.

    Cheers

Depends how ballsy you're feeling. Either you sacrifice one of your heavy hitters for Sterling or KDB if for Hazard but it's difficult to justify selling any of them. Morata to Austin + RLC upgrade? Enough £? Or Kane out but I'd be apprehensive to sell.

I have almost the same line up except I have DCL instead of Niasse. I'm doing Haz to Raz. I may even drop kane but not sure for who...

How about Morata to a cheap third striker and upgrade RLC to Sterling?

Do you have enough £ for Vardy + Gross to Austin + Sterling? Else you could go DCL or even Quaner if you can rotate him in different formations.

There's no way Pep disrupts his best team for an injury prone Kompany that can only string 2/3 games together.

Otamendi has arguably been there best CB this year.

I was planning for Tottenham DGW, upgrading Zaha to Son (got Kane and Vertonghen), but then I see the games are two days apart. Are we really going to see many good options playing decent minutes in both games and if so, who?

I went for Ogbonna when he was 4.3, to save the 0.1m and as he has picked up some nice BPS scores, but Masuaku has passed the eye test and gotten forward extremely well. Since both are 4.4m now, I'd probably go for Masuaku, with the slight danger being his youth and Cresswell's ability to play the left wing back role if Fonte or Reid return to the fold at CB.

Yea quite a few people went with ogbonna for the 0.1 saving.

But like you said, now they are the same price there is no contest.

The argument of creswell moving back over can also be argued for ogbonna because if both fonte and Reid comeback, then ogbonna could lose his place too.

That being said, I think the current team is playing to well to be disrupted.

                6 years, 6 months ago

Agree with this. Fonte is old and slow and his return is at least 5-6 gameweeks away, so Ogbonna should be very safe. A dynamic left wing back who hasn't played a busy Xmas period before could get rotated once (Masuaku) but Moyes doesn't seem like a tinkering type manager after the recent results so I am highly confident in both having secure places.

There were 2 criteria: Ogbonna was cheaper (not the case anymore), but also that he is theoretically more likely to play both games in DGW. LWB can be rotated.

Best thing about him is the ease to find him in a player search
