Why did the scouts keep saying you have to have 3 defenders on the scoutcast? Will a playing player be benched to bring on a non playing defender just so you have 3?
you must have a minimum of 3 defenders at any time. FPL 101

With 8 players and 2 FTs, is it a stupid idea to only use 1 FT this week?
It would mean I could bring in De Gea and Auba for free next week and then load up on Chelsea and Tottenham (whilst getting rid of Liverpool) in a GW33 WC...
Why get rid of Liverpool? I mean, I probably wouldn't triple up anymore, but Firmino could easily outscore most DGW forwards against BOU in 34.

Not playing the free hit in 31 is a HUGE mistake.
Yes it is a poor fixture to use your free hit chip, but that's not the point.
The point is that it gives you the freedom in the earlier gameweeks to completely ignore GW31.
That's where the true value of playing the FH in 31 lies.

Who did well if you'd ignored? Mahrez, Silva although I doubt many would've gone for him. On the other hand, Arnie and Eriksen were popular too, and they didn't do much. So how much could you have benefited by ignoring?

I got Eriksen and Mahrez in whist taking a few hits from gw28/31 and also getting a few gw31 players in. Had Schindler and Lossl last week. So I managed to go up the rankings doing this. Now in top 8,000. The mistake was to completely concentrate on players playing in gw31.

Hang on didn't you just write an entire article about how it would be a big mIstake not to use FH in GW37??
That was my strategy but I brought in the wrong players - Son & Wilson to Sane & Ayew for a -4 ... really depends on the moves but nevertheless a valid strategy because you basically have a WC type team in 32 and can use the WC in 36 instead - the maximisation of chip use is all interlinked and not to be looked at in the vacuum of a single game week 🙂

Which reminds me of a funny fl story that could have been in the rough section of the scoutcast. First time I played FL I didn't know for some reason that you could do more than one transfer with the wc, so my wc that season was transferring in the Sheffield utd keeper Kenny and that was it 🙂

The first gameweek I played FPL, I didn't know how to change players between First XI and Bench. I just tried to drag and drop them, but nothing happened. Ended up with some big scores on the bench 🙂

No way.It was fine being able to keep players on bench for future gw 31 but once I kept adding the likes of Walcott (who I wouldn’t normally have took) and having to play them it was downhill all the way.Was ranked 169,000 gw24 after several green arrows but steady decline since then.Put an end to any decent finish.
