Monitor – Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang

With a reduced Gameweek 31 limiting the scope of Big Numbers, we’re taking a new route with our articles for members over the international break.

Our “Monitor” series will focus on some of the top transfer targets set to be involved in the Double Gameweeks and therefore included in Wildcard squads, as we analyse our data to offer an appraisal of their prospects.

We start the series by turning to Arsenal’s Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, a player being lined up by many Fantasy managers as a ready-made replacement for the stricken Harry Kane.

Over 114,000 acquired the Gabon international for Gameweek 31, despite the fact he was without a league fixture.

Since Saturday’s deadline passed and more Wildcards are wielded in anticipation of double Gameweeks, Aubameyang is the most bought player in Fantasy Premier League, collecting a further 110,00 new owners.

With that in mind, we take a look at his impact since arriving at the Emirates over the winter break.

Handed a debut in Gameweek 26, Aubameyang has bagged three goals, an assist and 26 FPL points in five league outings – averaging 5.2 points per match.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Mate, are you sure about Mustafi, Smalling and Mkhi?

Read some opinions yesterday that ARS assets could be rotated due to Europa League and Smalling is at risk after Jones' return (31 March).

      1. NestorC
        • 7 Years
        6 years, 1 month ago

Well it's a risk, but after Cech I guess Mustafi is the most nailed. As for Smalling I have enough to get Bailly if he is nailed. Mkhi with those fixtures, I can't overlook him.

        1. arndff_
          • 12 Years
          6 years, 1 month ago

That's my dilemma too: DSilva/Sterling vs. Mkhi.

My other question is -- why Morgan over vdH who seems to be much popular here? I suppose you don't want to double on Swansea defence. Am I right?

          Cheers!

            • 7 Years
            6 years, 1 month ago

City mid is great pick but I guess they are as much rotation risk as Mkhi with worse fixtures and more players involved in goals, hard to predict who will score, also transfer waiting to happen when City wins it.

That's right, don't want to double since I think they can easy concede in both home hames, plus Leicester have 2 doubles, so I am spreading the risk there.

With Harry out, the Son will be out to shine! The Chelsea game has goals in it, The Stoke game definitely has goals in it and the City game at home a week after City have already won the league at United the weekend before = definitely has goals in it.

I love how the delay in announcement of DGW has lead to speculation of previously expected DGW34 fixtures now possibly moving to DGW37.

Leicester have 2 DGW, therefore Arsenal Leicester has to go 34.

Southampton v Leicester in 37 as both already have a 31 fixture outstanding for 34. Leicester and Southampton won’t have a TGW37.

Don’t have WC. Is Rüdiger nailed for a while?

      I'm very confused.

      1)
      de gea - fabianski
      mustafi/monreal - otamendi - davies - robertson - ward
      son - salah - matic - willian - mahrez
      lukaku - barnes - firmino

      2) De Gea - Fabianski
      robertson - azpilicueta - Otamendi - Davies - ward
      Salah - mahrez - Son - mcharthur - willian
      auba - barnes - Firmino
      3)
      De Gea - Fabianski
      robertson - christensen - Otamendi - Davies - ward
      Salah - mahrez - Son - mcharthur - sterling
      auba - barnes - Firmino
      4)
      de gea - fabianski
      mustafi/monreal - christensen - davies - robertson - ward
      son - salah - mcarthur - willian - mahrez
      lukaku - barnes - auba

I'm very undecided on below points:
      1) two from: lukaku, auba and firmino (first two have DGW, the third is on-fire)
      2) Sterling or mahrez?
      3)mustafi or monreal? or smalling/baily?
      4) two Big forwards and not 3 (to have 4 midfielder and defence upgraded)

        DDG / (Lloris)
        Valencia / Bailly / Monreal / (Christeansen / Naughton)
        Salah / Son / Mkhitaryan / Willian / (Kenedy)
        Aubameyang / Firmino / Murray

Plan is to bench all united sets on gw33, also to play Murray on next 2 home games, then switch to Jordan Ayew.

Is ok this WC, or too much defence?
