Monitor – Romelu Lukaku

After starting our series of members’ articles on Wildcard targets with a look at Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, our sights turn to another in-demand frontman.

With Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero currently nursing injuries, Romelu Lukaku’s recent resurgence has not gone unnoticed by Fantasy Premier League managers.

Three goals and a pair of assists in the last five Gameweeks, allied with a trio of strikes over four cup outings in the same timeframe, means that the Man United striker is the second most bought player in FPL ahead of Gameweek 32.

Following a barren autumn period, Lukaku seems to have stepped up his output following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.

With two double Gameweeks anticipated for the Red Devils, can the Belgian claim a place in our frontlines for the run-in?

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Lads,

Is Wilson → Vardy or Shaq → KDB/Serling worth a -4 for a one week punt before I wildcard? Both could pay off in my opinion..

I'm not sure I'm 100 happy with Mahrez (C), and especially not Hazard (C), on current form.its just nice to -have- them.

Those United fixtures are almost as plum as they get, from a weak defense standpoint.

100k is a reasonably good platform to push on - no need for wild differentials. Choose the players you think will score best and build around that - maybe a couple of cheap punts but don’t sacrifice a huge chunk of budget on someone out of form at the expense of a well-owned player in form unless you’re convinced they’ll smash it somehow.

          From Ben Dinnery's Twitter page:

Toby Alderweireld is hoping for game-time against Saudi Arabia following his recent injury setback. "He is completely fit after a difficult rehabilitation," said #BEL boss Roberto Martinez. "As far as I’m concerned, he is ready to play." #COYS

No - Pickford is a very good shot stopper but he lacks judgement. I'd rather see Southgate give Pope a chance in these tough friendlies. If he does OK then I'd play him.

    A) Alonso + Firmino/Vardy for the DGW.
    B) Monreal or Christensen + Lukaku

Is it possible to temporarily gain team value in the week you play the FH chip ?

For example. After activating the chip you purchase a player for 9.0m who's price then rises to 9.2m, if you then sell him before the GW deadline will his selling price be 9.1m like in a normal GW (an increase of 0.1 in GW TV) ?

No. You will revert back to your previous team at the deadline of the last gameweek at current prices.

I realise that, it's the GW when you playing the FH chip that I am referring to.

Ah, I see - sorry. You don’t keep any gains/losses during your free hit week but if you do make 0.1 in the meantime you can use it to buy a player on free hit that you couldn’t quite afford at the start of the week. But logistically one desirable player going up 0.2 and another not rising at all would be a hard combination to find - but theoretically, yes.

No, you set aside your original team and ‘borrow’ the FH team, and at the end of the week you get back your team

Oh hang on, you mean within your FH team, to get extra value to buy new a more expensive FH team ... not sure ... don’t even know if you get 100 million or your SV

Good point. I assume it's you current TV, but it could be your SV or 100m.

I used my FH in 31 but still had 8 mill itb, so didn’t follow what was happening with price change of my FH purchases.

Thoughts on this WC team chaps -

    DDG, Fabianski.
    Alonso, Smalling, Tarkowski, Lowton, Morgan.
    Salah, Son, Mahrez, Willian, Kenedy.
    Aubameyang, Vardy, Barnes.

    0.5 in the bank.

Barnes is far from nailed IMO. Downgrade fabianski for hart. Morgan to Fernandez. And get Murray

Kun Agüero is having a fast recovery. He started to run with his national team and his sensations are really good. He won't play against Italy and most probably neither against Spain but the prevision is that he will be totally fit for the Premier League game against Everton.

    Fabianski (McCarthy)
    Alonso Mustafi Lowton (VDH) (Morgan)
Salah Mahrez Mkhi Willian (Ki Sung)

Will do Auba, Lukaku, Mkhi & Mustafi --> Vardy, Kane, Son, Verthongen with my 4 free transfers before GW 34 & 37

    Two questions:

    A) Play Lascelles (HUD) or Robertson (cry)

    B) Play Willian (TOT) or shift for Arnie (SOT)

      Lascelles- Huddersfield never score haha.

Willian- he could be on fire
