Yahoo Focus – Gameweek 32

Our partner game Yahoo are offering another big-money contest for Fantasy managers this weekend.

They have a Premier League £2.5k Saturday contest which takes in all seven matches from 3pm onwards tomorrow, finishing with the 5.30 pm encounter between Everton and Manchester City at Goodison Park.

The contest is guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to five teams. The top 125 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £250 going to the first place.

Driven by Opta data, the Yahoo game has a unique scoring system which is ideal for those members of our community on the lookout for a daily Fantasy Sports game.

If you’re new to Yahoo, you can sign up and claim a free £50 in credit to your account when you deposit just £5. Promo code: Fantasy50.

Before getting started on your lineup, it’s best having a read over our Strategy Guide, which takes a look at the types of players who profit from the rule set.

FFS Strongest XI

David De Gea – £16
Nicolas Otamendi – £16
Jose Holebas – £14
Paul Dummett – £12
Kenedy – £16
David Silva – £23
Riyad Mahrez – £22
Pascal Gross – £19
Jesse Lingard – £18
Romelu Lukaku – £24
Marko Arnautovic – £19

The Yahoo scoring system – which awards goalkeepers points for wins or draws and double the number of points as defenders for a clean sheet – clinches David De Gea’s spot on our teamsheet for the visit of Swansea. Man United have kept more clean sheets (ten) and conceded fewer goals (seven) than any side in home matches, dropping just seven points in 15 matches at Old Trafford. The Swans, meanwhile, have scored just ten times in 15 away matches.

A trip to Everton hands Manchester City the chance to take another step towards the title. The league leaders’ defensive form on the road has been peerless – they have claimed more clean sheets (nine) than any side and also rank first for the fewest shots (107) allowed. City centre-half Nicolas Otamendi has recorded more successful passes (1189) than any defender away from home, while the Argentine is second only to Marcos Alonso for both shots (28) and goals (four) from defence this term.

Jose Holebas offers points potential in defence and attack for Watford’s home encounter with Bournemouth. Despite struggling on the road, the Hornets have conceded just one goal in three at Vicarage Road under Javi Gracia. An ever-present for the new manager, Holebas is ranked top among all defenders for crosses (49), successful crosses (11) and key passes (ten) since Gracia was appointed in Gameweek 25.

At the cost of only £12 in Yahoo, Paul Dummett hands us a cut-price route into a Newcastle defence that has conceded just two goals in their last five at St James’ Park. The Welshman has started every match from Gameweek 23 onwards and is the Magpies’ top-ranked defender for successful tackles (18), interceptions (13) and blocks (seven) during that stretch. That contribution could deter a visiting Huddersfield attack that has scored in just three of their previous 14 road trips.

Newcastle’s loan signing Kenedy will pose the Terriers plenty of problems tomorrow afternoon. The Brazilian scored twice against Southampton in his last home outing and has been the Magpies’ standout player since arriving from Chelsea. Over their last six matches, he is their top-ranked player for shots (14) and efforts in the box (seven), while no team-mate can better him for key passes (six), crosses (15) or successful crosses (five).

David Silva’s form on the road clinches a place in our XI. The Spaniard has played a part in 41% of Man City’s away goals when selected – more than any of Pep Guardiola’s regulars. With six of his eight goals and five of his nine assists arriving away from home, Silva looks set to torment an Everton rearguard that’s managed just one clean sheet in 11 attempts.

We opt for Pascal Gross and Riyad Mahrez as Brighton welcome Leicester to the Amex Stadium. The Seagulls have one clean sheet in their last 11 league matches, while their visitors have conceded in all but one of their last 11 on the road.

Gross has played a part in 52% of the Seagulls’ home goals, racking up five goals and six assists in front of his own supporters. At home this season, the German is the league’s number one player for successful crosses (34), while he sits second for big chances created (11) and fifth for key passes, with 43.

Mahrez, meanwhile, makes his way to the south coast having served up a goal or assist in 11 of his last 14 league starts. Over the last four Gameweeks, the Algerian is ranked third for goal attempts (13) and second for efforts on target (seven). Furthermore, he has form against the Seagulls, having supplied both assists in a 2-0 win over his hosts back in Gameweek 2

Man United pair Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku were both on the scoresheet for their national sides in the last fortnight.

Lingard grabbed a goal and an assist for England to boost his chances of returning to the United teamsheet at home to a Swansea outfit with just one clean sheet in their last 12 road trips. When selected, he has played a part in 35% of the Red Devils’ goals – almost on a par with Lukaku’s 38%.

The latter served up two goals and an assist in Belgium’s 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia to continue the form that has harvested eight goals and two assists in his last 11 matches in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Furthermore, away from home, the Swans are ranked second-bottom for both shots conceded (259) and efforts in the box against (160).

West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic warmed up for the visit of Southampton by firing three goals for Austria over the recent break. The summer signing has recorded seven of his eight shots on target in the Hammers’ last four league matches and faces a defence that’s mustered just one clean sheet in 12 on the road.

As Yahoo allows late swaps up until each kick-off, our listed line-up may well be subject to change.

The Weekend Contests

As well as the Premier League £2.5k Saturday contest, Yahoo are also offering a Premier League £1k Sunday contest.

Containing both matches from that day, it gets underway at 1.30pm on Sunday, when Arsenal take on Stoke City the Emirates Stadium and concludes with the Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur match at 4 pm.

This is also guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to two teams. The top 50 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £100 going to the first place.

You can open an account and get started immediately.

If you register and deposit £5 or more, Yahoo will also give you a £50 bonus to be used as cash to enter paid contests.

Register here to claim the bonus.

You must be over 18 years of age, resident in the UK, and of legal capacity to register with Yahoo Daily Sports and open an Account. If you sign up, please always play responsibly.

Kane's pretty much going to be fit for GW 34 isn't he?

I don't like having to keep 2 transfers back to get him in.

Is it worth getting Lukaku in, instead of Auba just in case I can't get Kane for GW 34(player injuries etc).

I'm just considering Lukaku instead if Kane for 34. His fixtures are much better, and he's cheaper which allows me to keep some value spread around my squad which is better for a BB.

Kane in for 36 and I can downgrade Gross to dross which is no issue as squad players wont be so important.

To get Kane in GW 36 will cost 2 transfers if you Free Hit in GW 35 unless you keep money back!?

Yep that's a downside, but it's just 4 pts. Also there's likely to be some issue with another player by then, which may force a change to free up cash for Kane.

Right, definitely too much hassle with the United defense now. Think I'll forgo until later.

    DDG / Ryan
    Alonso / Vertonghen / Tarkowski / Lowton / Morgan
    Salah / Mahrez / Son / Willian / L. Cook
    Aubameyang / Firmino / Vardy

The above has 1.0 ITB. Auba > Lukaku for GW34 is the plan, anyway. If (when) I want Kane back, I can also do Firmino > Kane & Vardy > Barnes (with 0.3 ITB remaining, so the leeway is there for price changes.)

    Good?

Wildcarding next week so have the luxury of spending this week's ft on any player at any price.

Ideally looking for an explosive differential who won't really feature in this week's wildcard teams. Jesus my best bet?

Yeah - certainly a good shout. Can't see him not starting. Alternatively, Mkhi/Ozil for 1 week, or maybe Arnautovic (although less attractive if Lanzini is not playing).

    my last draft

    DDG - Fabianski
Tark - Alonso - jones -Davies - robertson
salah - son -willian -mahrez - mcarthur
    lukaku - firmino - barnes

I cannot choose 3 top forward unless downgrade alonso and son (IMHO is not good 2 for 1).
i'm covered for the dgW34, but im not sure for DGW37.
my doubts is for GW35, in this way i have only 6 players.

    Aubameyang Lukaku Barnes

For this week, Smalling. For DGW34, probably Christensen - as he is a sure-starter when fit. Probably not too helpful in your current predicament, but if you have good options, I'd still probably go for Christensen (unless you can swap to him freely later, without impacting future transfers).

Maybe also stay away from Bailly when Jones is fit or keep faith? Vertonghen or Rudiger now better options than Bailly?

I think Bailly is nailed. Think Vertonghen is just as good an option not sure about Rudiger tho as not as nailed and Chelsea are worse than other two teams.

I currently have C: Groß and Barnes. The problem with Lingard is that he is unlikely to start both games in GW34 - although I acknowledge this is also true of Murray and Barnes as well.

Why think people that Bailly is nailed? Since gameweek 12 only one game with 90 minutes and another game with 9 minutes. Thank you!

He is their best defender and hasn't played much due to injury. Now rested and fit he should play.

Of the three, Jones, Bailly and Smalling, I still think Jones will get most minutes. It's odd rest or new injury that worries me though.

    A), B) or C)?

    A) Vert and Matic
    B) Bailly and Gudmundsson
    C) Vert and Gudmundsson

(have DeGea, need a United-spot for Lukaku in GW34)
