ZoumasBloomers’s RMT

Fabianski – Patricio

Mendy – Robertson – Cedric – Wan-Bissaka – Tomkins

Salah – Mahrez – Mane – Richarlison – Cairney

Aubameyang – Arnautovic – Sorloth

Goalkeepers

Patricio – 4.5m, obviously a quality goalkeeper with international pedigree, and Wolves have some tight fixtures. Seems a no brainer for the 4.5 rotations, after Ryan/Fabianski didn’t rotate well. Sounds like Wolves were quite tight last year as well.

Fabianski – 4.5m, still got memories of his seemingly random hauls last year. Guaranteed save points. Hopefully going to West Ham doesn’t diminish his point scoring potential (still haven’t forgiven Ogbonna from last season)

Defenders

Mendy – 6m, a bit of a punt early on as he seems to be made of tissue paper and not played many minutes, but from his brief spell last season it’s very clear that he offers attacking potential on top of a decent defensive record. Delph and Zinchenko don’t seem to be in favour, and there’s every chance of a very tasty return to 5 at the back from Pep at some point. Will monitor Community Shield.

Robertson – 6m, should be nailed early season, and has some pretty tidy fixtures. Will get in a few crosses, and very easy to switch down to free up funds if pressing issues arise. May even do a goal. Chances are high that he will become a Man Utd defender once their settled XI becomes apparent, but for now I am happy to avoid Jose’s grumpy circus.

Cedric – 4.5m, I’m expecting absolutely nothing from this bloke, may not even start after the World Cup, and doesn’t get as many attacking returns as he should. However, he seems cheap and fixtures are reasonable. Easily benched if needed. A rabbit hole I seem to dive down at the beginning of every season, at least he wastes less money than Bertrand did last year.

Tomkins – 4.5m, Seems to keep clean sheets when paired with Sakho, and does pose a threat from set pieces. Some decent early fixtures providing Palace start better than last season. Roy should have them in a reasonable shape.

Wan-Bissaka, 4m – Would prefer for this to be Peltier, but injury has put me off there. Likely to be perma-benched unless I shift Tomkins early doors. Could prove to be nailed, and should at least offer some price rises as people realise this.

Midfielders

Salah – 13m, I’m too scared not to.

Mane – 9.5m, I like the look of Liverpool fixtures, and Mane has certainly had a good pre-season. Could possibly be on penalties, definitely seems fresh, and gives a good coverage of Liverpool’s attacking options so that I can spread my strikers around. Will have to put up with a few 60 minute substitutions though.

Mahrez – 9m, all aboard the Pep Guardiola rotation wagon. If playing, he should be high up the field, and was experimented with as number 10/false 9 in preseason. No WC fatigue, just need to wait on injury news. Can easily become David Silva if signs are that he may not start. Fully expecting disappointment after I WC’ed him in last season and he cost me a top 1k finish. Could have some free kicks off KDB if he is feeling generous.

Richarlison –  6.5m, What on earth am I doing!? The man has a 50p head, and misses 1 on 1s for fun. However, £50m signings should start every game, and Everton have great fixtures. Should have a point to prove under Marco Silva, and a proper summer of rest after playing for nearly 12 months last year. Could well be this year’s bargain if he finds his shooting boots. Worth a punt, and a goal in preseason is a good sign.

Cairney – 5m, I’ll be honest, I’ve never seen him play. Looks the best of the 5m options for me purely because Kenedy has shocking early fixtures and Neves plays deep and loves a card. Fully expect Cairney to shuffle to Kenedy on my first WC. Will rotate with my 4th defender and 3rd striker.

Forwards

Aubameyang – 11m, the man that everyone will want from GW3. I’d love a nailed Aguero but I’m concerned that Jesus will steal some minutes in that GW2 fixture against Huddersfield. Saving myself the hassle of a transfer by starting with the Arsenal man, has every chance of scoring vs a travelled City side in GW1 anyway

Arnautovic – 7m, never a dull moment, equal chances of scoring a brace or elbowing someone in the head. Has been banging them in in pre-season, and West Ham’s fixtures aren’t as bad as made out (and they boast a decent squad this season). Concerned that Zaha may move back into midfield, or that his head will have turned by transfer rumours, so going with the early season form and security here. Only issue is that some re-jigging will be needed to turn him into Firmino if things go south.

Sorloth – 5m, Reasonable start to his Palace career, looks quite sharp for an absolute lump of a man and may well header a few in at some point. Likely to always be on the bench, but offers more potential than the 4.5m strikers. Nicely fills out an all Palace bench for me as well.

CONCLUSION

A lot of very highly owned players being overlooked, but a lot of decent price players that can be easily switched.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Where have I gone wrong, and where have I gone right? What do you suggest I change? Feel free to tear into me in the comments!

    Salah. Moura. Erik. Rich

    4.0. Wb. Peltier. Hud-o

To much in defence? Plan is downgrade a 6 to fit Kane in once he starts firing. Thoughts appreciated

RP: Trying to capitalise on a decent Arsenal attack, along with a decent Liverpool/City defence and attack, with a decent enough bench to deal with any issues without panic-selling. What do you reckon?

    Patricio Norris
    Mendy* Robertson* PVA TAA* [Tomkins]
    Mane** Bernado {Richarlison} Hughes Chalobah***
    Aguero (Aubameyang Lacazette)

    * Bench should be strong enough to deal with any rotation of TAA, Mendy, Robertson and Bernado, I think.

[] Can't decide between Tomkins and Schlupp. Tomkins has better goal threat according to stats, but I think Schlupp could start scoring goals if he gets a regular run in the team.

** Hoping Mane will prove better value than Salah. He's my captain for GW1, and if he's on pens, he is also a candidate for captaincy in GWs 3 & 6, at least.

{} Tempted to replace by Mata, but currently leaning towards Rich for the longevity (especially with Bernado in the team already). His poor GW6 (ars) could be covered by Hughes (ful).

*** I don't see a problem doubling on Watford, since Chalobah will mostly be a third sub. It's unlikely I will need my 4.5 midfielder to cover any player's fixture or injury, because my 5.0 midfielder and 4.5 defender offer better options already. I'm currently on Chalobah because I think he's the most likely 4.5 mid to become a contender for a regular spot in the XI, but I'm certainly not counting on it at this stage.

() Likewise, I don't see an issue with double Arsenal, since I won't be rotating them. If Lacazette is a good option by himself, then he's allowed in my team. Same goas for Aubameyang. I would like to have made the most of the value in Zaha, but this way I have more premium options in the team, with a view to having an advantage come GW3. I am slightly concerned by Zaha's potential move away from forward position where he saw 5 goals in 6 games, and I'm concerned about something in regard to all budget-mid-priced forwards. I can always downgrade someone, perhaps Aguero, to a cheaper striker later on.

    Captaincy:

    GW1: Captain Manéring
    GW2: Kolonel Kun
GW3-9: Commander Yang, Pierre-Emerick Emiliano François

Fair dos. Thanks for your reply, Debauchy. I wonder what your opinion would be if Salah didn't exist.....? What would you change in that scenario? I feel like I have a decent player in every position.

But I agree Lacazette is possibly the least good value option given the fixtures, but he will become one of the best come GW3, plus he might be good value even in the first two - the premium team attacking form could trump the fixtures

Bilva is the one player I am trying to fit into my team, but really like the way it looks currently.

    A. Cairney, PVA & Coleman
    or
    B. Bilva, 4.5 & 4.0

    Robbo, Mendy, Wan-B, (Coleman, PVA)
    Salah, Richarlison, Jota, Chalobah (Cairney)

Would really appreciate a RMT lads.

    Ederson, 4.0
    Robbo, Bailly, Sahko, Daniels, WB
    Salah, Jota, Milo, Cairney, Stephens
    Kun, Firmino, Quaner

    5.5m ITB

I know you're probably looking at that midfield like WTF but with the likes of KDB, Eriksen etc all potentially missing the first couple of GWKs i figured it was an opportunity to try and cover at least one of the early bandwagons with loads in the bank to upgrade the flops.

Fair point but I think you have to be realistic so yeah, preparing for failure as much as I am for success. Things don't generally settle down till around the GWK4/5 mark anyway so after 8 years i thought it was worth trying something different

    Robbo, Mendy, Dohherty, Tomkins (Wan-Bissaka)
Salah, Mane, B Silva, Jota, (Stephens)
    Auba, Zaha, King

    I could go for

    Adice please 🙂

    Hey,
    I'm currently thinking the following:

    Begovic - Boruc
    Mendy - Robertson - Tomkins - C. Daniels - Wan-Bissaka
    Salah - B. Silva - Mkhi - Richarlison - Cairney
    Aguero - Firmino - Arnautovic

Main Query is whether I should drop down from Firmino to Wood and use the excess cash on better midfielders, although with KdB/Hazard likely out to start the season I don't see many nailed-on upgrades over B. Silva that are assured to start the season (unless you think Sanchez is an option).

    Thanks all!

As an Arsenal fan I'm surprised that so many are going with Mkhy.

Great player but too many doubts over his minutes at the start of the season for me. Ozil a better bet if you can squeeze him in.

Don't you think Mkhi- Aub connection will blossom this season. I do, as an Arsenal fan also.

I like the connection a lot but Emery has rotated between 433 and 4231 a lot in pre-season and seems to favour having both Lacazette and Auba on the pitch at the same time.

In a 433 (which I think we'll play against the stronger sides) that means there's only space for one of Mkhy / Ozil in that wide right position. Food for thought given that our first two games are against tough opposition.

If Mkhy starts he's a great pick but I prefer Ozil's security.

I totally agree with you, but that 1.5 m up is a killer. If I'd have the choice I'd pick özil any day. However with the rest of my team, I don't have that luxury. But a performing mkhi for 7m is awesome price.

nice one, not sure with Begovic ... better 4,5 options out there (Patricio, Fabiasnki)

Mkhi might get risky ...may start with a safer option and get your Arsenal MF at GW3 when we know more about their starting XI

Thanks, you are hitting my areas of concern exactly. Re keepers I’m a bit worried how nailed other keepers are, as fabianski and rui patricio haven’t necessarily emerged as clear starters in pre-season.

Mkhi is a bit of a punt which might very well backfire, but I struggle to fimd a similarly priced alternative that has his potential upside and is more nailed on.

I'm not a big fain of the defense tbh. Chelsea seems a bit of a surprise bags throughout the team and it's unclear whether TAA (due to World Cup) or Shaw (due to being Shaw) are going to play in the first few game weeks.

About to take part in my first FPL Draft - wonder if somebody can help me out with two questions:

    1. Does FPL draft use the same limit of 3 players from each PL team?

    2. In a 6 man league, presume I should draft in the following order?
    - Premium CFs / Mids
    - Other CFs
    - Other Mids
    - CBs
    - GKs (plenty of good options with only 12 picks.. )

    Would really appreciate any assistance!

    Hi all,

I have a dilemma, I feel as though I should have an £11m forward from the start and then change to Auba from GW3. Which team do you prefer A or B?

    A:
    Pickford (Stekelenburg)
    Azpilicueta, Robertson, Mee, Tomkins, (Wan-B)
    Salah, Sane, Jota, Eriksen, (Stephens)
    Firmino, Arnie, (Niasse)
    0 ITB

    B:
    Patricio, (Stekelenburg)
    Bellerin, Robertson, Mee, Tomkins, (Wan-B)
    *Same midfield
    Aguero, Arnie, (Kamara)

1m ITB to swap Sane for DeBruyne. I could also change Bellerin to Mendy but I'm not sure whether Mendy would start every week.

    Thanks in advance.

is Bellerin a certain start? I am not saying he is not, I am just wondering, seeing they brought in Liechsteiner. Do you have any thoughts on this?

There is that risk but I think the way Emery will want his team to play with high pressing it should suit Bellerin more. I could change him though

Pretty template but I like it:

    Foster (Fabs)
    Robertson Mendy Luiz (AWB) (Peltier)
    Salah(c) Mane Richarlison B.Silva (Chalobah)
    Arnie King Aguero(vc)

What you guys think? 3 x Liv and City too much?

Cant decide if i want to premium strikers or one premium + two mid price strikers... A or B?

    A)
    Patricio
    Mendy, VVD, Daniels, Wan-Bissaka
    Salah, Mane, Rich, Jota
    Aguero, Auba

    Sub: Norris, Cedric, Hudson-odoi, Kamara

    B)
    Patricio
    Mendy, VVD, Lowton
    Salah, Mane, Bilva, Jota
    Aguero, Arnie, Zaha

    Sub: Norris, Daniels, Hudson-odoi

Maybe B as Aguero may start on the bench when Jesus is fully fit. You may feel that you need an alternative to Aguero when that happens who is certain to start. Hope this helps

    Please RMT 🙂

    RMT:

    Foster (Fabianski)
    van Dijk-Doherty-Daniels (Mendy, Wan Bissaka)
    Hudson Odoi-Pedro-BSilva-Salah (Hughes)
    Zaha-Aguero-Firmino

    2m itb.

    Considering:
    van Dijk -> Robertson/Bailly

    Calculated transfers:
    Hudson Odoi -> Cairney/Kenedy/Danny Ward (GW 2/3)
    Firmino -> Aubameyang (GW3/4)

    What's your view on:

    A)
    van Dijk-Daniels-Hughes

    B)
    TAA-Peltier-Richarlison

    C)
    Bailly-Peltier-Richarlison

Ditch Daniels ... Bournemouth were shaky at the back :X

and your MF is pretty weak including a Chelsea double up, they didnt look convincing so far and your 2 boys are in danger when Hazard and Willian are completly back -> 2 more transfers to make

Connolly --> Peltier, don't think Connolly will play, Masuaku to another 4.5 as well, heard he's dropped out of the starting 11.

Fairly solid, not sure about the defence though. Daniels might be dropped after gw 3.

Just checking the Masuaku thing, not sure I believe that he won't start at LB 😉

Looks great. I would consider choosing a single 4.5 GK to go with a 4.0 for two reasons:

      1) I don't think the extra points from a rotation are worth 0.5 (unless a GK gets injured/dropped).

      2) Rotation in your starting XI (e.g. Silva getting dropped, Bailly getting dropped, Liverpool mid getting a rest, etc) is more likely than having an injured/dropped GK. So you can spend the 0.5 on Stephens, for example, to get a decent first/second sub who can actually score goals.

About the best way i can find to fit in all 3 premium strikers I'd (ideally) like. Not sure i'm reckless/brave enough for it though 😉

    Patricio

    Kelly - Peltier - Suttner

    Mane - Fred - Bilva - Eriksen

    Kane - Aubameyang - Aguero

    Subs- Malone, Wan-Biss, Masuaka

Kane prob. wont start and your team is pretty unbalanced tbh
And why Fred? Downgrade one forward and invest in other positions
Salah-less is also a risk, as you prob know yourself 😉

I'm waivering between Schlupp and Tomkins, and I've dismissed Benobi from my team completely.. Your team looks good besides Mkhi and Cedric 😀 Why not triple up with Schlupp, Benobi and Tomkins? Or give Holebas a chance?

Yea Mkhi looks far from nailed now right!? Could take Peltier for his GW2 fixture but I figure one or WB & SchlOOP will start.

Mkhi was Eriksen til the Kun show yesterday

I think lack of nailedness or poor starting fixtures, and you could have coped with Mkhi, but not with lack of nailedness AND poor starting fixtures. I'd have him in my team instead of Rich if he were nailed on.

    Ederson,
    Mendy, Robbo, Tomkins
    Richa, Salah, Eriksen, Mane, Cairney
    Aguero, King

    4.0 - WanB, Peltier, Kamara.

I have 0.5itb, which will most probably be Eriksen > KDB in GW3. Thoughts?

Depends how many points they get.

My first RMT, torn between safe and risky:

    A (3-4-3)
    Patricio/Fabianski
    Robertson/Mendy/Bailley (Wan/Peltier)
    Salah/Mane/BSilva/Jota (Hudson-Odoi)
    Kun/Arnie/King

    or

    B (3-5-2)
    Patricio/Fabianski
    Robertson/Mendy/Wan(Cedric/Peltier)
    Salah/Mane/Sanchez/Jota/Hudson-Odoi
    Kun/Arnie/Kamara

    A. Its very template with very few differentials. Jota is a risk and could swap with Maddison when he’s fit and when Vardy/Maguire return
    B. It has a few options, with Sanchez straight swap for KDB and upgrading Odoi to Hughes in GW3, or even bringing in Kane if he starts strong by swapping Kun/Sanchez with Kane/Mahrez.

    Thanks!

i think both are pretty decent. the only thing i dont like is pat and fab never worked for me to use the right keeper and ended up with mountains of points on the bench also not a fan of jota in the early stages i would first see how the wolfs are going before investing.
ps i don't know how but i ended up with 6 layers from the template but tried super hard to work against it damn , well it is what it is good luck to you.

You may be right - and having a solid 4.5m keeper and a 4m keeper gives valuable money to refine even more.
