Who do you reckon will be dropped first?

    A) Bilva
    B) Pedro

Bilva pretty nailed on for now.

Pedro will rotate with Willian once Hazard is up and running, maybe after the Arsenal game.

What a Gameweek 1 so far

All the casual picks really delivered surely this has to be a complete one off and it won’t continue

Nice start though for the ones with Shaw, Rich & Shirley Bassey

What makes you think Richarlison is a 'casual' pick?

People got Shaw for a cheap short term way into the United defence. The odds of him scoring must have been ridiculous

Think the big transfer to Everton will have put him in the headlights for a lot of players

Or Shaw for that matter. Less than 2% ownership and the only people that picked him would be the ones that follow the news and knew Valencia/Young wouldnt start.

A gamble yeah, and an extremely jammy one with the goal, but those who took the risk knew what they were doing. I didn't unfortunately.

He was doing great until Silva was around. Just think he wasn't playing under the right manager after Sillva left.

Plus, even when he was doing good at the start of last season, his finishing was awful most of the times and yet he managed to haul on a few occasions.

Playing for a better Everton side, under a manager that he likes and after a nice rest (mind you, he played 18 months of football without a break last season) only means he delivers what's promised based on his price tag (FPL one, not the 50m transfer fee).

He was terrible for 11 gameweeks while Silva was still there. Stop peddling this myth that his drop in form coincided with Silva leaving.

He had played an extraordinary amount of football by that point and was clearly knackered. He’s now well rested and again playing under a manager who believes in him.

              He was a solid pick

You said he was terrible for 11 gameweeks while Silva was there. I said at that point he was drained from too much football.

                  How is that not relevant?

Because it has nothing to do with whether or not his poor form started when Silva left or not.

    Hughes on Cedric...

““I think if it was anybody other than Cedric in terms of fitness and worrying whether he could hit the ground running. Cedric is the one guy we wouldn’t worry too much about because he is a fitness guy who loves playing football and loves keeping himself in first class condition.

“The fact he’s been off all he’s missed is game time.

“If he has to go in straightaway and I feel that is the right thing for the team then that’s what I will do.”

Please start Cedric and block those jammy WanB points...including my H2H opponent!

    I'm tempted to go PVA -> Wan-Bissaka + 1.5
But I may hold off for now.
PVA was also getting forward in yesterday's game, and I see him as nailed-on for all 38 fixtures.

PvA is a great option - gets goals and assists and I think we are going to be getting more clean sheets this year too. Don't dump him for AWB just yet, but maybe consider getting them both in for GW3 (post Liverpool)?

Having said that I am lucky enough to have both - but made the mistake of benching AWB yesterday....

Maybe to early to make a judgement call on Jota, did he look good yesterday?

I think Tompkins > PvA is a good call - just depends on how many assists/goals PvA starts getting. Tompkins tends to have good instinct in the penalty box at corners and free kicks, whereas most of PvA's points seem to come from open play? In summary:

PvA - for goals, BPS, assists and clean sheets
      Tompkins - clean sheets, goals

Also keep an eye on Holebas after his performance yesterday! 😉

Anyone else thinking of transfering Sanchez out for pogba?

Did it before the deadline. Sanchez not worth the tag. A bit baffling that he's priced higher than KDB, Mane etc.

      Get KDB 🙂

Please update me on how Wan-Bissaka did last night. Should I start him ahead of Tomkins?

He played really well but 12 points is an anomaly. Would still start Tomkins ahead of him.

      He was excellent

Probably the most essential player in the game due to his price tag

Mitrovic looked good yesterday. Nearly scored, but for a great save.
If Fulham can get the ball through to him, he will get goals this season.

Mitro misses golden chances for fun. He needs 3 or 4 to score usually.

yeah, on the radar for sure - plenty of new signings in that team yesterday too

I think they have a good bunch of providers and Mitrovic is gonna be the sole beneficiary on most of the occasions. Locked in my team.

25 price changes in total gw1, Costa the only double faller (despite being 39th in transfer outs and Zaha having 13x sales is still 7.0)

Only 8 price rises gw1, 7 got double figure returns. Price rises seem more stunted, and reliant on big returns too

    I think I'll be satisfied with a 40-50pt gameweek. 35pts with 5 to play.

Can't be bothered to worry about players I don't own at this stage

Without knowing the players I'd guess you may score a bit higher than that.

The second sentence is refreshing to hear. Unfortunately, it can sometimes seem as though everyone has every player that does well.

Was really impressed with Pereira and Chillwell getting forward against Utd. At 5m could get good value with those fixtures? Are they worth considering?

Was at Old Trafford, Friday night. Pereira is a player. If Leicester go 3 at the back he'll be a must have. Chilwell also got into some great positions but his crossing was wasteful.

Wouldn't mind a no show from Cedric and TAA today 😀

Wish id gone with 3 X Palace defenders now but it'll be a reality check v Liverpool next week. Will probably be Tomkins' turn to return attacking points!

He's done really well with that Palace side, they are well drilled and he didn't even play any of his new signings yesterday.

I researched my team. I left out PVA and Wan B... but put in Tomkins and he could have scored.

Agreed. AWB does look good but make a plan and stick with it... at least for a few weeks. Don’t knee jerk. That’s FPL rule number 1, surely?
