Does drop in Kane’s numbers affect FPL credentials for Gameweek 8?

Harry Kane (£12.5m) is already the runaway leader of our Gameweek 8 captain poll, but do those currently not in possession of the Spurs forward need to sign him?

That is the big question on the minds of many Fantasy Premier League managers this week, especially with Liverpool and Manchester City options potentially cancelling each other out.

We’ve gone over some of Kane’s numbers from the first seven Gameweeks and compared them with how he was faring 12 months ago, to see if it’s worth selling the likes of Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) or Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) to get him in.

Agreed with the article but i think we should count the factor that may be the time where Kane and Tottenham are starting to play better football.
Generally,if Kane scores a brace and play well then will you buy him or you need more?

I used one FT for Kun -> Kane so left with this lot.

    Pat (Ryan)
    Tripp Alonso AWB (Doh TAA)
    Mane Haz Madd Dilva (Hoj)
    Kane Wilson Mitro

Got 0.5m in the bank and 1 FT left, any recommendations?

Aguero & salah to kane & sterling

If you’re going to sell Salah for a week why not for somehody cheaper and bring Kane in for a cheap striker. That way you won’t lose money on Aguero if you want him back on wildcard and he’s just as likely to score against Liverpool as Sterling

Another factor is turnaround, only 2 days rest after Barca so assess who gets the least minutes. No disrespect to Cardiff but Poch could rotate massively and still win comfortably.

Can Hazard keep the scoring up? Put some money on him to be PL top scorer at 55-1. It's since dropped to 9-1.

Time to cash out or has he really got a shot this year?

depends what the profit is. you can wait a further few weeks but he's VERY unlikely to be top scorer. His best return is 16 PL goals which is nowhere near enough to be top

        What a daft comment...
He got 224 points that season, and 233 points in 14/15 with less goals. Those are better than any season from Aguero, Kane, Sterling (who had an insane goal involvement last season), Lukaku, Sanchez (bar the season he played oop striker), De Bruyne, Eriksen, Alli, Vardy, and only slightly behind Mahrez' one good season.

So tell me, who else is going to get 250+ points? Because Hazard is well above average from previous great seasons. Play the Salah card if you want but clearly he isn't coming anywhere near his 300 record this season.

Ironically, this may be the GW that it turns around. Being Armenian, he can’t fly to Baku for Europa. Arsenal have withdrawn Rambo’s contract offer + largely inefficient in Emery’s system, indicating he is likely no longer in the plans and will be used for Europa games, opening up a spot for Mkhi.

What do we think of kun's minutes at weekend, he played the whole UCL game will he get good game time against pool??

Kun’s never scored at Anfield. Should be more worried about this.

Meaningless stat that. If that changes your opinion of what he'll do at the weekend, then you should have been captaining Lukaku against West Ham since he apparently always scores against West Ham.

You have to look into the context where under Pep's teams, Kun hasn't scored at all at Anfield despite the expansive football that they played and the number of goals they scored elsewhere. Anfield doesn't seem to be a happy place for city to go to. Bringing Lukaku into the picture is like plucking something out of thin air. We all know that Utd is not an attacking team and West Ham is poor. By all means capt Kun if you think he will score. But he's carrying an injury and not 100% fit.

He played 90 mins today, so it can't be bad enough to keep him out of such an important game against a rival, and Pep clearly favours him above Jesus. And he gets 2 weeks rest after

They have to beat Liverpool. Aguero is on form as their only firing striker. Logic says he has to play as many mins as necessary to get a win.

He's in trouble for being late to an injury recovery session. Aka he has an injury. But yes there's definitely more going on with it and I sold knowing that his 'recovery' may be drawn out and it could take a while for him to get back into the first team.

Not really. He had a bruised metatarsal, however, his ego will be most bruised. Pep brought him to the club for a specific reason to play expansive football in attack and defence. He will he back this weekend, or GW9 listening to Pep’s comments

Thiery henry once was sub mid match even he scored a goal, said pep is very strict on positioning play. Look it up on youtube.
Mendy, i think got dropped because of ill discipline on the field in that same relation.

Yeah I know the match you’re referring to. Pep is ruthelsss. He pulled Sterling off last season as well for missing an open goal. He demands perfection on and off the pitch and this was a way to get Mendy’s off-field discretions in check. He will be back and people will scramble to get him in their FPL teams

Its tempting against the worst team in the league. Could be gold. However, Spurs has missed their other 'big' players. Agree with the article that Kane has to drop deep to start plays more this season.

    B) Bennett > Doherty

    1. Postman Ty
      • 9 Years
      5 years, 7 months ago

Bennett is a season keeper, no reason to ever get rid of a 4m starter from a fairly good team. Double up if you want Doherty imo. Goalkeeper trade may be a bit of a waste depending on your team, most people avoid those transfers.

      1. davies
        • 9 Years
        5 years, 7 months ago

Don’t want to lose Mendy/Alonso/Robertson & Doherty will easily outscore Bennett

The goalkeeper switch is so I don’t have to play Hennessey through the bad fixtures

I was the exact same and dropped Mendy last week. Very happy with it, a lot of not so great rumours about his situation, and mixed fixtures anyways. If you've already played your WC I would consider the keeper move, but I prefer Fabianski, if you've still got the WC I would definitely save the trade for something else.

A is probably only good for this week as he's got tough fixtures on GW9 and GW10. Knockart is a good option as his stats are not too bad and Brighton do not face any top 6 teams until GW17.
