Awards

FFScout represented at the FSA Awards 2019

The Fantasy Football Scout team were present at the 2019 Football Supporters’ Association Awards ceremony on Monday night, situated at the Tower of London.

Our website was nominated for Online Media of the Year alongside some industry giants in The Athletic, Football365, FourFourTwo.com and Guardian cartoonist David Squires.

It was the new guys on the block The Athletic who claimed the prize for our category after a hugely successful first season reporting on English football.

They have made waves in the sports journalist world in 2019 amassing a hugely talented squad of A-listers that would make even the Avengers somewhat jealous, so we are not surprised at all that The Athletic emerged victorious in the end.

As we have mentioned before, even to be nominated for such an award is a huge honour, especially when you consider who else was in attendance on Monday night.

Peter Drury beat Martin Tyler to claim Commentator of the Year, Robbie Savage and his 606 team took home the prize for Radio Show of the Year, while Virgil van Dijk was named Men’s Player of the Year.

James Richardson, a familiar FPL Show face, Sky Sports’ Kelly Cates and actor Rupert Graves all took their turn to present various other awards.

Rubbing shoulders with household names within the sports media community truly was an incredible experience for editor David Munday, deputy editor Neale Rigg, community and partnerships manager Geoff Dance and commercial director Chris James who were all in attendance.

David and Neale, in particular, enjoyed an opportunity to swap stories with their BBC Radio 5 Live heroes Conor McNamara and John Murray respectively!

But, of course, we cannot forget that we would not be in a position to get nominated for this sort of award were it not for our loyal and engaged audience.

2019 has continued a period of exciting growth at Fantasy Football Scout with more and more people using our site and a considerable up-take in those of you prepared the support the site with your own hard-earned money.

We are hugely grateful for everything our readers, viewers and listeners give us and for helping us maintain our position as the number one resource for Fantasy Football. We would not be where we are now without you, so we cannot thank you enough.

Good luck to all of you for the latest round of Fantasy Premier League action and may your arrows be green.

    Pope
    Lund Soy Kelly Rico
    Maddison Pulisic KDB
    Vardy Jimi Greenwood

    Button Saka Salah TAA

Easy option is Saka > Grealish and I don’t have to rely on Greenwood, right? Spreads my funds a bit thin though.

Other option is Pulisic > Alli, gives me a Spurs man going forward as I’m pretty priced out otherwise and allows Jimi to Rashford next week.

Which looks better to you? Other suggestions welcome of course.

Hmm keeping puli this weeks basically means u will have to keep him for 2 weeks because u wont sell vs southampton. so tough one. would prob save and get rid of maddison next week instead of puli

That’s true. But the competition in that Chelsea midfield scares me and I like Maddison’s fixtures 20-24 a bit better. Issue is I like Alli’s even more, haha. Will have a think, not in a rush.

I wouldn't want to have to play Soyuncu or Greenwood.
Saka to Grealish seems the most sensible move with you having Greenwood and Saka.

I'm keeping Pulisic for the next two and then maybe moving for Dilva or Maddison unless he hits form. He's massively under-performing his numbers.

Given any moves would be a hit, am I safe to avoid the popular picks of Rashford, Grealish and KDB this week?

Hmm was definitely a move I’ve been considering just wasn’t sure if it’s worth a -4.

Also other consideration is that I wouldn’t be able to play him every week unless I end up downgrading Ings next week rather than upgrading.

sold Salah for KDB last night before price changes with a plan of bringing him back in a couple of weeks possibly for Sterling, i think i have a decent team for this week except i'll have to play Zouma or Soy since Clark is injured, so with that being said would it be worth doing Clark to Guilbert for a hit given that he has a good fixture and rarely blanks at home ?, i'll also play him the following week

    Pope
    Lund, Rico, Zouma
    Sterling, KDB, Son, Zaha
    Vardy, Jimmy(c), Abraham

    Martin, Hayden, Soy, Clark

Yeah you could do. Guilbert has some attacking returns in him.

Villa not the best defensively but I don't see Chelsea or Leicester keeping a CS.

I would say take the hit.

      Please respond to mine below.

Been looking over loads of member stats but could please do with some advice.

    Pope
    Lundstram, Rico, Kelly
    Maddison, Mount, Son, Alli
    Abraham, Jimenez, Vardy

    4m, Soyunchu, TAA, Mane

    0.1m 2 FTs

Do I just do Mount to Grealish and bank the other transfer?

Or do I get Aurier in for TAA this week. If I do that who do I bench? Rico?

Lol Grealish is a thing around here all of a sudden? Much better options like Zaha

    1. ZeBestee
      • 9 Years

Palace don't attack enough, and Grealish has decent fixtures and previous gameweeks suggest he is capable of getting the bigger points when played in the left of front 3.

Pulisic is almost certain to start come the weekend, as CHO was ineffective when he came on against Bou and Pedro out of favour. He had an ok match overall, and Chelsea as a whole were out of ideas.

You would think him and Abraham are the main assets to get any points if Chelsea do score at WHL and he then has Southampton at home after that.

    Would you still do him to;

    1) Richarlison or
    2) Grealish ?

I dont think he was ok vs BOU but due to lack pf standout options, keeping is not really a bad option.

      1. ZeBestee
        • 9 Years
        4 years, 4 months ago

He wasnt awful, he did have a few good moments which didnt come off. Bou defended really well and Chelsea as a whole were just out of ideas to break them down.

Was it down to fatigue? Or teams are catching up to them? Or overall quality not good enough?

        1. Holmes
          • 10 Years
          4 years, 4 months ago

          No idea really

I have only seen Chelsea vs Everton and Bournemouth this season and they are really clueless, probably worst games I have seen live.

Fatigue is probably the reason which will continue to be an issue in this month.

TAA to Aurier, Tammy to Rashford.
Otherwise, I would just burn the FT.

Nice team btw. Wish I could afford those. Can only afford those mids by taking out TAA and have cheapest striker for 3rd slot.

Or TAA to Aurier, Connolly to Maupay/Jota/DCL/the likes of them.

Worth it I think. Those 3 could easily pay off the hit.
