Henderson and Telles in for de Gea and Shaw as Brewster is benched again

The first set of midweek Premier League fixtures of 2020/21 comes to a close this evening at Bramall Lane.

Manchester United are the visitors as Sheffield United look to end their 12-match run without a win, with kick-off in South Yorkshire at 20:00 GMT.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brought Dean Henderson (£5.3m) into his starting XI tonight, with David de Gea (£5.3m) only among the substitutes.

Alex Telles (£5.5m) for Luke Shaw (£4.8m) at left-back is another defensive change that the Norwegian has made, while Nemanja Matic (£4.8m) and Anthony Martial (£8.7m) are brought back into the fold at the expense of Scott McTominay (£4.9m) and Fred (£5.3m).

Chris Wilder has made three alterations to his team, who are looking to avoid a club record eighth successive league defeat.

Jack Robinson (£4.3m) ousts Phil Jagielka (£4.0m) in defence while Oliver Burke (£4.3m) and David McGoldrick (£5.2m) replace the injured Oli McBurnie (£5.6m) and veteran Billy Sharp (£5.6m) in attack.

Those FPL managers hoping for points from Rhian Brewster (£4.5m) will have a familiar sinking feeling, as the young striker is again only among the substitutes.

Bruno Fernandes (£11.0m) is the most-captained player of Gameweek 13, with 1,275,089 managers handing him the armband for this clash.

Sheffield United XI: Ramsdale, Baldock, Basham, Egan, Robinson, Stevens, Berge, Ampadu, Fleck, Burke, McGoldrick.

Man Utd XI: Henderson, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles, Matic, Pogba, Greenwood, Fernandes, Martial, Rashford.

C: KDB Neco > Son Robbo
D: KDB Riedewald > Son Zaha

Why the rush to offload KDB? Seems like points chasing to me. Think if I were in your position I'd do Reide -> Soucek and roll the other FT

I want Son tbh and I'm not sold on double Chelsea defence anymore.

What about Grealish James > Son Lewis (bench rotation with Lamptey and Coufal)

Anyone else fancying a Free Hit for DGW19 and just preparing for BGW18 instead?

    Why?

Locked on low prices in Spurs, Everton, Villa assets that I don't want to ditch for the DGW and have to pay way more for afterwards

Downside is that it means I can't use the bench boost/triple C for the DGW.

Was pondering it myself. But I think I’m still leaning towards FH18 & TC19 with plenty of DGW’s on the pitch

The more I think about it, it may be worth bench boosting or TCing GW19 rather than FHing it.

Probably depends on the state of your bench. If you need to fix a 4.0 keeper and Mitchell then for bb it’s less transfers to get other doublers in.

Im pretty certain on FH in 19 with the team I have.

I've been wavering between FH and BB gw19 and from initially think I'd BB I'm now leaning towards a FH.

Main reasoning is when I actually pick my BB side and look at the transfer path to it it probably causes too much disruption to a side I'm currently pretty happy with and have quite a few players with quite a bit of value locked into. e.g. Forster 4.0m none playing keeper and Douglas 3.8m scrub def would need upgrading forcing me to sell someone I'd rather not.

I actually think a FH hit will likely outscore one I'd get on BB and also removes the risks of players I bring in for it between now and then getting injured / losing form / catching covid etc

TC only Salah appeals but think I'll use this on a smaller later DGW.

I may waver back if Villa end up with a dgw19 (I have triple Villa).

    A) 3.9 to James
    B) 3.9 to Cancelo/Dias

    Salah, KDB, Fernandes, Grealish, Soucek,
    Kane, Bamford.

    Forster, Dallas, Brewster, 3.9.

What is the better long term trade?

    Vardy & Grealish - Salah & Watkins
    Vardy & Dallas/KWP - Robertson & Ings

    Martinez / Steer
    Chilly KWP Cresswell Dallas Taylor
    Grealish Bruno KDB Son Soucek
    Vardy DCL Bamford

Prefer the balance of Ings and Robbo but scared of not having Salah..

    1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 3 Years
      3 years, 4 months ago

I was in a similar position, Robbo is fine but I can't see too many cs for pool, if you have you could stick but really there's only one option for Liverpool cover. I wanted Ings too but no matter who else I managed to fit in, not being able to fit in Salah was always going to be a risk (especially if you price yourself out of it now) so I have to say Salah, but not with Watkins, anyone else in that bracket

    2. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 3 Years
      3 years, 4 months ago

I also avoided Ings as he hasn't been great since he came back and will take a bit of time to find form I think, if I need to I can find a way to him from DCL but right now I'm keeping the guy that keeps ticking away with points

I’m still holding Barkley, but am definitely selling him as part of my GW19 strategy to maximise doublers. I feel like I need to get something more out of him before I sell, but feel like I’m being stubborn/sentimental when really I should just pull the trigger. I have 2FT, if I do nothing this week then may need to take a hit later on.

    A) do Barkley > Raphinha (man), and play either Lamptey or Targett

    B) hold Barkley in the hope he plays (wba), either Lamptey or Targett start and the other is first sub, will require -4 in coming weeks to maximise doublers for GW19

Can't answer that definitively but if Berge is out it can't hurt his chances of regular starts at CM.

As a Villa fan, what's your take on Watkins? I've owned him since GW2 (tho benched him for the Pool hatrick) and it's been pretty up and down. Worth hanging on to? Not seen enough to judge his performances. TIA.

I sold him for Bamford after hat trick against us. We had 27 shots today 6 on target and Watkins 4 shots 3 on target. If Lowton not on goal line Watkins scores deflection off his chest he knew nothing about. If El Ghazi passes to Watkins sometimes instead of 8 mostly wild shots maybe Watkins scores and we win
