Who are the best Man City players to own for FPL Double Gameweek 24?

Manchester City can offer a wealth of viable options at both ends of the pitch for Double Gameweek 24.

The question is, of course, how many should Fantasy Premier League managers invest in and which assets are the best to consider.

We have run the rule over the form of Pep Guardiola’s men, the data behind their upcoming opponents and picked out some key statistics behind certain individuals.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

THE FORM

Manchester City have been the kings of the form charts over the winter period.

After a stuttered start to the campaign, their last 12 matches have been a display of imperious superiority compared to the rest of the Premier League.

During that period they have won 10 games, drawn two, been the only side in the division to go unbeaten and amassing 32 points, at least seven more than anyone else.

Double Gameweek 24 teams: Fulham - best FPL players, form, fixtures and XXX

Furthermore, Guardiola’s men have conceded on just three occasions (0.3 per game) and their total of 26 goals is bettered only by Manchester United, who had more than a few mitigating circumstances go their way in the 9-0 win over Southampton.

Considering Manchester City are top of so many key metrics of late, the case for choosing three of their players for Double Gameweek 24 is strong indeed.

The more pressing question is perhaps whether or not Fantasy managers should double-up in defence or attack when it comes to Manchester City.

To answer that, it makes sense to take a closer look at their upcoming opponents…

I still think 29. With the smaller GWs we’ll inevitably have the assets anyway.

Why is everyone talking up 33?

I like 33 (if you can line up for 29 with 2/3 Villa/spurs and Leeds)

In 33 you will be able to load up on Liverpool, Man U and Leicester for easy games (on paper!)

      1. Fantasydreamer

DCL will have City followed by Liverpool. Raph has a decent chance of a return at Arsenal followed by a DGW. I'd start Raph and sell DCL for Bamford although I expect you have him.

I’m planning for 11, with 4 SGW players in 26 (assuming doubles are as planned and Spurs Villa is in 29). It will mean I need one hit over the next few weeks. Feel that’s the best way to maximise for me, but it depends on your current set up.

I’m only holding on to Coufal. Antonio and Soucek will become Raphina and Kane next week. I’ll bring back either Antonio or Soucek for GW29, but not before.

          Current plan for 29

          3 Villa
          2 Spurs
          3 Leeds
          1 BHA
          2 WHU

Way to early to say imo, what will you do if spurs get destroyed by city and then also blank in 26, what if villa go on a bad run of form ?

Nothing wrong with having a plan. Just have to stay flexible.

That said, injuries and suspensions aside, there’s no way I’m getting rid of Son or not bringing Kane back. They’ve been exceptional all season. A battering from city won’t change my mind on that

    a) Dias
    b) James Rodriguez

Still set on stones and salah > lowton and sterling, it would be a bonus if dcl was fit for this weekend

What formation are you playing atm ?

4-4-2 atm with Martinez, Coufal, Soucek and DCL on bench.

Nice, that’s a strong first and 2nd sub, West Ham will probably win 2-0 with a souceck brace lol

    Play one:

    A: Dallas (ars)
    B: Coufal (SHU)

Coufal, but would be happy to have Dallas first sub.

Is Mendy, Son, Anguissa(x2), Bamford worth bench-boosting?

If I do it, I'll WC next week, and it gives me

I've got very few GW29 players (no Villa, 1 Spurs etc) so not-BBing in 26 makes planning for 29 easier.

God it's confusing at the moment!

    Mendy (Forster)
    Cancelo Stones Mee Pieters Coufal
    Bruno Gundo(c) Salah (Son Anguissa)
    Antonio DCL (Bamford)

    2FTs so would do Forster + DCL > Pope + Cavani/Rich if BB-ing.

The DCL transfer is worth it anyhow.

      BB is up to you.

Would you recommend bringing in Sterling or Jesus for the double up?

Have Cancelo, Stones and Gundogan but don't mind mixing it up.

Depends on whether you have other pressing transfers to make and if you have 2FTs. It's not worth a hit.

        I don't mind a hit.

        Makes the game more dynamic.

Sterling, Jesus played 90 on Wednesday so I don’t think he starts both

    1 week punt >

    a) Cavani
    b) Richarlison

I've got same choice and currently leaning Cavani, but I wouldn't want either medium-long term. If you don't have a WC soon, I'd go with Ings.

What would people do with Chilwell this week? Somehow survived in my team up until now. Alonso got the starting place do we think?

Yes Tuchel does not like Chilwell

Not sure. Alonso starting and not playing great last night suggests Chilwell will start. Really can't tell with Tuchtation. That's why I sold Chilly for Rudiger!

It's the kind of fixture I'd like to punt on I suppose but... could either bench him for Coufal or sell him for Mee/Lowt.

Did Alonso really stink the place out? Hmm...

I laughed last night when the commentator suggested that Alonso had been subbed early to save him for the weekend.

    DDG (Martinez)
    Dias Cancelo AWB Cresswell (Coufal)
    Salah Bruno Grealish Gundogan(c) (Son)
    DCL Antonio (Bamford)

    GTG?

DCL likely out, but we'll know more later. Probably not worth a hit (depends on your chip strategy), as your bench is strong.
