More FPL Gameweek 30 blanks confirmed as Chelsea get Double Gameweek 28

We round up the key Fantasy Premier League (FPL) talking points of the day in FPL Daily, a weekday series that serves non-Premier League matchdays and days when we don’t bring you a team news/press conference round-up.

BLANK GAMEWEEK 30 LATEST

We have three more confirmed blanks in Gameweek 30 of Fantasy Premier League after Wednesday’s FA Cup fifth-round ties, bringing the current total to five.

Burnley v Southampton, Norwich City v Chelsea (more on that game in a bit) and Liverpool v Manchester United are all postponed, along with Manchester City v Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace v Newcastle United.

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United will go ahead in Gameweek 30, however, along with Arsenal v Aston Villa, Leicester City v Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers v Leeds United.

We’re likely to have six fixtures off in Gameweek 30, as Everton would have to lose to non-league Boreham Wood on Thursday in order for their fixture against Watford to go ahead:

GAMEWEEK 28: NORWICH v CHELSEA SET TO BE ADDED

More FPL Gameweek 30 blanks confirmed as Chelsea get Double Gameweek 28 1

Double Gameweek 28 will now be one match bigger as a result of Chelsea progressing in the FA Cup tonight.

Norwich City v Chelsea – originally scheduled for Gameweek 30 – will now move to Thursday 10 March and the two clubs will now ‘double’ in Gameweek 28 as a consequence.

The Blues will be away at Burnley and Norwich, while the Canaries will host Brentford before welcoming Thomas Tuchel’s side to Carrow Road.

We’ve reset the ‘best captain’ poll results on the sidebar, with Chelsea assets now added.

Is Amartey gonna be a decent option going forwards, or out the team as soon as Evans/Fofana come back?

Yeah, even if he just gets the Brentford fixture that would be good.

Wondering whether to use him to get Kane in GW30, could sell VVD to Amartey to fund Laca to Kane

People who have done the WC35 In to BB36 - how much success has it yielded for you in the past? Im wondering how much value there is in it

Difficult to fully recall as I skipped playing last year, but I’m sure in previous years it’s been lucrative. The biggest danger is rotation if teams have nothing to play for by that point in the season

Three weeks ago that looked like the case but currently there is everything to play for. League, 4th place and relegation

Yep, which is why I’m doing it. Currently 20k OR.

The year I came in top 5K I regretted even using first wildcard (delayed it until GW19 and arguably made my team worse). It’s a powerful chip but it makes it too easy to knacker a decent team, so with only three weeks’ worth of damage to inflict hopefully means another crack at top 10k

It's a late play. The reason I'm WCing now is to bring in a few differentials to take some ground and still have time to repair any damage 😀

I haven't had much success with it, usually one or two of my bench players has been rotated so I don't get as many games as I think.

        • 8 Years

Usually the GKs are my biggest stars. If you can bench boost a doubling GK that cleans once, then that's at least 10 points. If you can hit one more return on your bench, you should be happy.

Thanks all. Wondering if it's worth using it now but I don't think my team needs it right now. I'll likely dead-end my team for the blank and WC out of that with the BB36 in mind.

Hello - I’m really considering -16 hit to improve my team:
    - Sa Hoever Martinelli Kane Broja in,
    - De Gea Maguire Cornet Dennis out

I currently only have 3 GW30 players with no Free Hit and am looking to save WC for GW32

Is the above crazy? I know Hoever is risky but opens up Kane

    Current team:
    Foster
    TAA Dunk Cancelo
    Salah Bowen Cornet Mane
    King Antonio Dennis

    De Gea Maguire Gray Dawson

    Proposed team:
    Sa
    TAA Dunk Hoever Cancelo
    Salah Martinelli Mane
    Kane King Broja

    Foster Dawson Bowen Gray

If you are not well set up for gw30, I would just wildcard to sort it out. Don't take a -16 to save your wildcard for later. That would be my friendly advice, at least.

Anyone feel strongly whether hits this week (maybe -12) to BB is wise?
This leaves me with wc and fh and can go a little cheaper on my wildcard.
One caveat is I’m not well covered for gw30 but won’t go crazy chasing players just for the sake of it.

I mean I did similar 2 years ago when Stones got 27 and smashed the BB!

Easy to find justification just unsure on timing

moves i'm considering but not all:
non playing backup keeper > Dubravka
foden > son (has a double in 29 and plays 30)
          bowen > JWP/Willock

Is now the best time to wildcard? I'm getting more tempted by the hour...

Team looks decent, how good will the unannounced DGW be?

I decided last night, set up for 28/29 with decent 30 cover, leaves me with FH & BB

      Could also BB29 ?

not sure if this is 100% but basically the winners from this weeks FA cup, blank in 30 and likely double in 36

Only WC and BB left, ranked 75k (0.7 ITB, 1 FT)

I really consider to WC this, advice?

    Sá, Gea
    TAA, Cancelo, Laporte, Rüdiger, Duffy
    Salah, Jota, Saka, Foden, Bowen
    Dennis, King, Eduoard

Duffy and Edouard docent play much, and tired of Dennis/King...

I'd be tempted. City rotation and tougher fixtures. Double Watford attack, Jota a risk now and Edouard not playing.

Thought about it, I think he is a better option than Trent.

Can see him outscoring a lot of doublers over GW28+29.

There was a week a benched Cancelo, they lost to Spurs but he looked like absolute fire.

That was a proper behind the sofa game, I'm dropping him from my FH but I fear the same. We (United) can't score, so I'm giving up a clean sheet.

Keep VVD or -4 to Rudi?

It's tough cos both have 3 fixtures in next 2 GW

Keep. Defender hits not normally worth it IMO

Hey all, what would you do here, obvious choice is Dalot > Chelsea defender? I can only afford Thiago Silva without taking a hit. Would you do Dalot > Thiago Silva, or would you do Dalot > Rudiger & Weghourst > Someone like ASM/Hwang?

    Ramsdale
Taa - Cancelo - Robbo - Ait Nouri
    Salah - Son - JWP - Coutinho
    Broja - Maupay

    DDG - Weghourst - Dalot - Bowen

    1. Holmes

you can do Bowen to Martinelli and Dalot to Rudiger

Team looks well set by the way, nice work.

I'd take a -4, Dalot to Rudiger and then wait on Howe's presser for ASM.

Who to captain this week in my squad?
    A) Ward-Prowse
    B) Jimenez
    C) Watkins
    D) Digne

Currently have it on A but unsure

If you have Salah, I'd still go Salah.

From your options, I'd go A.

      A. But I think Salah still the man or Kane
