Mark Sutherns’ FPL Gameweek 3 preview and team reveal

Mark, a four-time top 1k finisher, collected 55 points in Gameweek 2, having used a free transfer to bring Erling Haaland (£11.7m) in for Harry Kane (£11.4m).

Whilst his beloved Nottingham Forest won their first home Premier League in over 23 years, the seven points of Neco Williams (£4.0m) were stranded on the bench.

Meanwhile, his lack of Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) paid off on Monday night, as the FPL superstar blanked against Crystal Palace.

As well as revealing their Gameweek 3 teams and transfers, Mark and Andy also answer some questions from those tuning into the stream live.

          definitely, but as an owner there's some anxiety about Tierney being too good to be permabenched and Gabriel isn't shabby for attacking returns himself from set pieces. Price diff aside tho I like Zinchenko more still

    Considering this WC team:

    Ward (Iversen)
    Cancelo, James, Cucurella, Zinchenko, (Neco)
    KDB, Sterling, Martinelli, (Gross, Andreas)
    Kane, Jesus, Toney
    0.4m in the bank.

    1) Trent, Diaz vs Sterling, Zinchenko. As of now, I think I will wait till Liverpool sort out their injuries and new formation without Mane. I am afraid another season like 20/21 is brewing for Liverpool with the injuries and all.

    2) Sanchez, Gabriel vs Iversen, Zinchenko -- only possible if Dasilva rises in price tonight; but overall, I like the second for the upside and extra money in the bank.

    3) Gross vs 4.5m bench -- always prefer nailed and performing players on the bench. Also, a cash cow in case I need money elsewhere.

      I had Sterling first two gws before my level of rage and crappy rank could only be mollified by a WC. Sterling first name out. Given Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures I’d want TAA at least. Like the KDB and Kane duo, I went Haaland though. Sterling/Cucurella v TAA/7.5m an interesting consideration.

        Think I don't have the balls to go with Kane. I will eventually go with Haaland, that's for sure.

        I understand your frustration with Sterling. He is an expensive asset to own if not firing. But, the exit is actually super easy --- Sterling+5.0m --> Trent + 8.0m if I keep 0.5m in the bank. Essentially, Sterling is 10.5m in my head.

        Liverpool has great fixtures, but they are lacking in form. As I explained in (2), injuries to Thiago, Konate and Matip has made them suspect at the back. United got their back against the wall -- I think they will score. Newcastle is not an easy fixture any more.

          I agree with KT, Trent looked amazing last week even with a man down he was all over the pitch.

          Gomez set to start RCB this week so perfect cover for him to go off on his adventures

          Sterling I think could be a good pick, just that he's 10 fekking mil he's gonna frustrate any time he doesnt return

          What about TAA+Mount? 99.2 to drop on fplstats, think you'd have just enough if im not wrong

            Trent + Mount/Diaz is a definite possibility.

            Think Dasilva will rise tonight giving me that extra 0.1m. Also, have Gross as luxury player on the bench (not really using my Salah --> KDB money on first team players) if I really want Trent/Diaz, I can move Gross to 4.5m.

            I am leaving all these decisions till late. Not good at all for my health.

            Trent looked amazing. Towards the end, he was playing like a forward. Its always scary to go without Trent. But, unless I see them more stable at the back, its a tough decision to put money on their back.

            Re Sterling, I see it as a pair: Sterling, Cucurella vs Trent, Diaz. Chelsea vs Liverpool. To my eyes, Chelsea looked more dangerous than Liverpool. At least in the first 2 games. I know it is difficult (and maybe foolish) to ignore Liverpool out of respect and pedigree. However, I see Arsenal and Chelsea competing for being the best among the rest (except City, who are much above and beyond others in the league). Liverpool comes in at fourth.

          I didn't think he would but the it's the quality of that source to me. He's been right the past couple of weeks. He also predicted a Hojberg benching when it was crazy to predict it (he'd played a mad number of consecutive games) and was right - and when I say 'predict' he does work within the club.

          Planet Fpl did their contributior pod this week on the toon city game and the toon guy said they just won’t park the bus at home (even against City), seen press stories this week about Howe being very keen on playing an attractive style of play to build the feel good factor with their fans.           Yeah, I'm not expecting much from either to be honest so it's probably not an important decision - I think Bailey probably gets 15 - 30 mins though, vs Trippier's 60 - 90. Harder opposition for Trippier. There really isn't a lot in it but I think I'd be on Trippier.

          Don't let that put you off. Maybe they have 3 other Liverpool players. There's a good pool of 8m mids. If he does well then better for you that less people have him. You're not going to win FPL if you wait for everyone to have huge ownership before you'll buy them.
