How FPL Blank Gameweek 32 looks after the FA Cup

The Blank Gameweek 32 picture is now complete after the conclusion of the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Four Premier League sides were in cup action over the weekend, with Manchester City, Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester United advancing to the last four.

Each of those three sides will now blank in Gameweek 32, as well as Chelsea who were due to visit Old Trafford.

GW32 Premier League fixtureStatus
Arsenal v SouthamptonOn
Bournemouth v West HamOn
Brentford v Aston VillaOn
Brighton v Man CityBlank
Crystal Palace v EvertonOn
Fulham v LeedsOn
Leicester v WolvesOn
Liverpool v Nott’m ForestOn
Man Utd v ChelseaBlank
Newcastle v TottenhamOn

WHEN WILL BRIGHTON V MAN CITY AND MAN UTD V CHELSEA BE PLAYED?

There are now six Premier League fixtures that need to be rearranged, with three of them involving Brighton.

OUTSTANDING FIXTURES THAT NEED REARRANGING
  • Newcastle United v Brighton and Hove Albion (originally in Gameweek 25)
  • Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester United (originally in Gameweek 28)
  • Liverpool v Fulham (originally in Gameweek 28)
  • Manchester City v West Ham United (originally in Gameweek 28)
  • Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester City (originally in Gameweek 32)
  • Manchester United v Chelsea (originally in Gameweek 32)

Gameweeks 34 and 37 will incorporate the majority of the outstanding fixtures, very likely including Brighton v Man City and Man Utd v Chelsea.

The current thinking is that Newcastle United v Brighton will be the one postponed match that is rescheduled outside of Gameweeks 34/37, potentially as soon as Gameweek 30/31.

We hope to get a fixture announcement over the March international break to clear up any outstanding issues.

Thinking Zinchenko to Shaw for sure?

Also, anyone else kinda reluctant now to lose Martineli and Saka even with their SGW? Or maybe Saka to Bruno?

Lucked out on Saka(c) to be fair. Kane, then Martinelli, then Saka as the extra time minutes out me off Martinelli. Even had Mings & Tarkowski rooted on the bench!

Thoughts on the verdict on the 2min of madness with Fulham at United which cost them the chance of a FA CUP Semi final place at Wembley...!!!!

    1. Willian 100% penalty - correct
    ----
    2. Marco Silva over reaction getting sent off - correct - ban should be increased.
[Who to lead the players 10 v 11, lead my example & no apology in interview afterwards]

    3. Mitrovic - seeing his Manager & support team
[No excuse - grabbed the ref - booked thrown at him - should get a lengthy ban as watched by Millions & happening too much in the lower leagues/youth club football to refs - examples to be made....]
    ---
    4. Enforce/Stopping of managers leaving their technical areas -
(ie Mikel Arteta & Pep Guardiola -why not more punished with red cards, happens far too often)

Iversen seems pretty nailed in the near term now based on Rodgers comments:

“It’s always important to give a goalkeeper a good run of games and I felt Danny Ward deserved that. I had a long conversation with him before the Chelsea game in terms of what I expect, the standard I expect and what I want from my goalkeeper.

“Daniel Iversen has played a lot of football over the past four years and he’s progressed. He’s continually grown. I’ve seen him in training, he’s a brilliant shot-stopper and he’s good on crosses. He has a calmness.

“Wardy took it great, as I would expect. We had an honest conversation. He was disappointed in how he’s done in his time. He can reflect now on it.

“Daniel will come in and play and we’ll go from there. He’ll get a run of games. It’s important he feels he’s not just judged on this performance. I thought he did really well. He was really assured.”

On BB29 and FH32. Early thoughts on which of these options to go for?

    A. Martinelli > Mac Allister (BRE, bou), then Watkins/Toney > Haaland GW30

    B. Martinelli > Bruno (new, BRE) then Watkins/Toney > Haaland GW30 via a -4

    C. Martinelli + Kane > Bruno + Haaland -4

    D. Keep Martinelli and consider Kane > Haaland for free

Have Kepa and Chilwell on a WC. is signing James to replace botman (have Tripp) asking for trouble? Signing both wing backs for attacking threat, not clean sheets (which can’t seem to be got from any defence). Am bench boosting 29.

    1. Hairy Potter
      • 9 Years

I have Kepa, Chilwell and James. It was a bit frustrating yesterday, but with the potential high rewards comes some risks. I think I'll have the 3 for the DGW and then might see if one of them needs moving on.

Botman will have another DGW, plays GW32 and is easy to bench, but it's unlikely he has a ceiling anything like James.

Thanks for that input. Yes, that’s the thing with Botman. If no CS then it’s nothing. I signed Cash and Chilwell for exactly these reasons. I don’t expect them to keep clean sheets (who is keeping them?) but it’s nice to have another source of points.

Got one last week. It's frustrating that Newcastle aren't scoring more from corners to be honest given Botman, Burn and Schar, plus the likes of Joelinton and Isak. In open play, it feels like he is playing the ball through for runner on the right to cross. Not sure how many assists he was getting from Miggy cutting in and scoring earlier in the season.

Don’t have Kane. My other main options weren’t playing. Caveat, as obvious a choice he was, I still changed last minute and went Watkins. Was a very tough call and it didn’t work. Should have just stuck with him as I had it on him all week.

People need to stop moaning/gloating - both Kane & Saka were good choices.

Kane had a good few chances & could have walked away with more. They did score thrice after all. Saka just delivered on it this week.

I personally expected a tighter situation at Palace (plus due to ARS midweek) but let's be honest Andersen getting injured in the warm-up didn't help - and neither did Mitchell struggling, not Mili in midfield!

Not moaning, just looking back to see why I backed Kane instead.

Originally had it on Martinelli given his form, but the 120 mins swayed it to Kane

I captained Saka, just had a feeling he would haul just going by last game where all his team mates mopped up the points, he was due as they say.

Saka was 2nd in captain choice poll this week. He’s too good a player to not haul at some point and Palace players probably reeling from losing their manager. Poor poor decision from Ste Parish to get rid of Vieira with their next 8 games out of 9 playing teams in the bottom half of the table. They’ve had some really tough games in the last 7 or weeks playing against teams in the top 6 and only losing by 1 goal or a draw. Extremely knee jerky and I hope they pay the price.

Only captained Saka in GW25 and GW28: 30 and 36 points. Not bad.

He was an obvious choice for sure, just you gave a few reasons why someone might not end up with his as the final choice. Like me - the European hangover was enough to make me go Toney.

Could have gone either way, and there is a reason why the majority went for Kane over Saka.

On a side point, often the ones who go against the most popular option and brag when it's a success conveniently forget the times when they did the same thing in the past and it didn't work out e.g. missing out on a Haaland hat-trick

A good question is if you'd known that Arsenal would have scored 4 goals and Spurs 3 goals, who would you have gone for? I think I would have gone Kane - 61% goal involvement since the world cup before this GW vs. Saka's 31%

Roll the transfer? 1.1itb, 1ft. No bb.

    Kepa*
    Shaw*, Trippier*, Estupian*
Salah*, Rashford* (c), Mitoma*, Saka, Martinelli
    Kane, Haaland
    (Ward, Tarkowski, Greenwood*, Patterson)

    Or Kane to Watkins maybe?

    Exact funds for:
    Ward + Andreas -> Steele + Mitoma

    A) Pull trigger now
    B) Wait for more info/risk being priced out

    Kepa
    Trippier - Schar - Estupinan - Chilwell
    Rashford - Maddison - Andreas
    Haaland - Kane - Toney
    Ward - Saka - Odegaard - White

    Looking to use BB

I know 3 people have said do it now, but I think it's worth waiting - might be wrong but I think Mitoma goes to Japan for two games - you never know with injuries

If prices do move against you, I firmly believe that March is as good an option anyway at a lower price, or you could go Iversen instead of Steele who is 0.1m cheaper and gives you more flexibility around Brighton (I think the midfield double up is better than the defence double up)

↑ this guy is talking sense. You have a lot of players who'll have a lot of travel.and two games to play before GW29. Ward and Andreas probably have to go but I'd wait because an Andreas SGW may be better for your BB than an assured injury

Thanks for the input, hopefully there's a few WCs and FHs in play as well so maybe I won't lose too much with the price changes.

Good shout re March as well, was kind of dead set on Mitoma but they both seem pretty good options

Would you do Ward to Steele now though? Just looking at it and that could be 0.2 swing on it's own and it's not as risky with keepers I don't think. I actually didn't realise I bank 0.1 from that transfer so I have that extra if Mitoma rises to 5.6 then I can still get him

You probably need to shift Ward out regardless - whether it contributes to a hit or not, and I guess Steele should be low risk of an injury so unless you're worried Sanchez comes back in, I'd probably do that bit and asses later in the IB

Yeah that seems a fair move - seems like it's his spot to lose now over Sanchez

    BB Team after using FTs:

    Kepa Raya
    Shaw Chilwell Trippier Botman Estupinan
    Rashford Saka Barnes March Mitoma
    Haaland Kane Toney

I presume there's no obvious hits needed, pending IB injuries?

BGW32 and DGW34, worth looking at them. FH in the pocket then it should be fine for 32.
