On Wednesday afternoon, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) got one step closer to its 2023/24 relaunch by asking users to update their account details when arriving on the home page.
This is an annual task to ensure the security of each manager’s account, part of a much-improved process that aims to avoid several notorious hackings of the past.
Users need to verify their email address and create a new password. Later pages then revise basic personal data and preferences.
HOW TO GET A LOW ID
Updating your details beforehand allows a manager to register their team quicker on release day and therefore bag a lower team number.
As soon as the game goes live, there’ll be a rush to get a low ID – three-figure IDs are usually gone within the first 5-10 minutes.
So as soon as the site goes down for its final update this Wednesday or Thursday, be sure to be hitting the refresh button to catch its relaunch!
WHY A LOW FPL ID COULD BE IMPORTANT
Having a low FPL ID is something that’s about more than bragging rights, though.
Not only is a smaller number easier to remember and type when loading your team into external tools such as LiveFPL, Premier Fantasy Tools and Plan FPL but it could also determine prizes.
When FPL award their weekly and monthly prizes, if managers are level on rank, the one who was first to register their team is deemed the winner.
