    Chilwell+Mbuemo or Martinelli+Baldock?

A, but maybe look at 6.5m alternatives to Mbuemo if you haven't already got Mitoma.

kane just a ticking time bomb for all these salah drafts. IF kane stays, he's essential. People on here still trying to convince themselves he's not. he'll haul against brentford and then you have a 12.5 m striker to get on 1 FT

I think its quite reasonable to expect both to hit another monumental 250+ season, but ridiculously simplistic to say one is essential and the other isn't

The real question is: how close can Diaz/Jota/Maddison/Kulusevski come to the point of the 2 giants?

its not ridiculously simplistic when you consider how kane has performed under poorly performing managers who almost considered attacking a bonus byproduct of keeping teams out. this is the first manager who goes against that ethos. I watched a lot of SPL last season (im a gers fan) and ange has his team attack in swarms, yes they ship goals to but in my mind this might be the manger best suited to kane since pochetino (son as well could end up being the player of old).

So they'll be an attacking team? Great. But Liverpool won't? Have you seen their recent lineups?! I'm seeing a ton of goals at both ends for both sides

That's completely correct. A slight but key difference is that Kane will score the majority of Spurs' goals, whereas at Liverpool the goals will be more shared out, albeit Salah scoring the most.

Thinking the unthinkable here, a Kane and Salah team without Haaland. Last season there were a few weeks early on where us Kane owners benefitted from low ownership. The guy was consistently scoring decent returns, not Haaland’s intermittent hauls but clocking up the points nicely. My main concern about him now is just how the summer negotiations will affect him in the short term if he finds himself still at Spurs. I’m a little concerned about Haaland’s recent form too. If that continues and Kane starts getting early returns would you consider jumping to a Haaland free team?

Surely it is just too risky, when Haaland comes in with a 20 point haul, you have undone 3 good game weeks from Kane

Kane just scored 4x goals in a pre season friendly. Whatever you think about him he's a consummate professional on the pitch, I wouldn't have any worries about the transfer saga affecting him.

      1. Old Bull
        • 12 Years

Yeah but as far as he’s concerned there’s still a chance he can go. It’s if Spurs by their demands block that chance it could screw with his head. I suspect it won’t but it’s still a risk.

To add also re your comment on Haaland's form, I think its as much about him being marked out of games as form. After the start of last season (when he went berserk) teams started to get wise to him and got much tighter on him, giving him much less freedom. We saw it from Arsenal in the CS too, and I think we can expect the same in the PL.

      1. The Bandit

I believe he’s now 6 games without a goal, which compared to Kane, makes dropping him look almost like a no-brainer rather than a big risk.

Alongside the Charity Shield, those 6 games include the FA Cup final, CL final, CL semi against Madrid and a 17 mins cameo against Chelsea though.

He’s been banging them in for Norway in Euros qualifiers, and he’s got a promoted Burnley side next.

    Pickford (Macey)
    Shaw Chilwell Tark(Baldock,Meyer)
    Salah, Mbeumo, Mitoma, McNeil (Chuwku)
    Haaland, Kane, Pedro

Not so pretty, but I've got the big 3 in. And with 0.5 in the bank I've got a little to play with to gradually get subs over the line when the likes of Everton's fixtures go to pot.

Nice practice you had there, but I don't think it's actually worth it. The Sakas and Rashfords will outscore the difference of you having to play McNeil every week.

    question on Salah 12.5
would you still keep him after GW2 at this price tag in the team if he continues to deliver assists and becomes more like KDB ?

Depends on how many assists he's getting and the effect on his bonus.

I'm prepared to do the switch to Kane in gw3 if he isn't delivering.
