After tucking into Saturday’s huge goal-pie helping supplied by Manchester City, we can’t help but think that today will arrive as an anti-climax. More “Sedate Sunday” than “Super”.
But Brighton and Everton may surprise us – certainly both sides are in need of a victory to pep up their seasons.
From a Fantasy perspective, the pickings are slim.
Pascal Gross is unquestionably the most interesting asset on show, having picked up over 109,000 new owners ahead of today’s clash and a favourable spread of fixtures for the Seagulls. He starts today’s match as part of 14.1% or 740,000+ squads.
Thanks to Everton’s malaise that makes the German playmaker the most popular player on show.
Certainly, Wayne Rooney’s Fantasy stock has been in decline since Gameweek 2 – the last time he returned points via a goal at Manchester City. That strike and the Toffee’s performance that night seems a world away from the current form, with Ronald Koeman’s side and Rooney struggling for a foothold since.
They must surely avoid defeat following the reverse at home to Burnley in Gameweek 7, and with that in mind, today’s lunchtime encounter looks destined for few goals and little incident. We shall see.
