FFS Cup

Fantasy Football Scout Fifth Round Draw

We’re down to the last 32 in our Fantasy Football Scout Cup tournament and can now reveal not only the victors from round four but also the fifth round draw.

As we know, Gameweek 33 was a torrid affair which produced the lowest average score (32 points) of the season so far. It also put paid to one of the two top-ranked managers remaining in the cup.

Leaf – who ranked 55 in the world prior to last weekend – took a four-point hit to record a modest 34 score. He was somewhat unfortunate to come up against ChrisVD who recorded the highest score (57) in the entire fourth round. The latter also spent points on an extra transfer but mustered a hugely impressive tally thanks to a Spurs midfield partnership of Dele Alli – as captain – and Christian Eriksen.

While Leaf toppled out, the other high-flying manager – Always Captain Kun – earned his passage to the fifth round with a 34-30 victory over Le Tigre and maintained a rank of 65th in the world. They must now be considered the early favourite to lift the trophy but must be wary of their next opponent. Norman conquest lies in wait in the last 32 and, while they are placed 46,709 in the world, they are renowned giant killers in this cup having previoulsy eliminated the 48th ranked thisisdiz in round three.

Round four’s lowest ranked manager – TD7242 (699,646) – was unable to maintain their cup run after recording a calamatous 20 points from Gameweek 33. It was a familiar tale of taking a points hit to capture and captain Harry Kane, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang their only player to score more than two points. TD7242 tumbled out to Batmaniac, who scored 33 to claim passage.

That means that jaycar25 is now the big underdog heading into the next round. They are placed 339,188 in the world and will face 2eyedTurk next; they currently place 34,464 in the overall rankings.

The fifth round will be played out over Gameweek 34, which as we know, is a Double Gameweek with many chips in play.

The full fourth round results can be found here, while the fifth round draw in full can be found here.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Any thoughts from you clever bunch? good to go? bench boost is being played and need to keep Zaha and Salah for to get a team out next week. Worth Schindler to another Burnley defender? (already on a -4)

    Pickford
    Chilwell / Vertonghen / Tarkowski / Robertson
    Son / Mahrez / Salah / Zaha
    Lukaku (C) / Vardy

    - Elliot / Wilson / Sterling / Schindler

For anyone chasing in mini leagues are you not slightly concerned that using the TC on Kane in 37 will be somewhat nullified by those that will also TC and C Kane?

Even if he gets 20/30 points will that extra 20/30 over your rival be enough to close the gap?

    1. The Polymath
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 8 Years

Could use TC now and BB in 37. But won't that still give you 20/30 like your rival?

      1. Totally !rre!evant
        • 8 Years
        6 years, 2 months ago

That of course could still be the case, but if you consider that there are more options this game week for the captaincy (Kane, Lukaku, Sanchez, Even Mahrez) the likelihood of both you and your rival captaining the same player seems less likely.

    2. Iceball

If you think those above you will C or TC him you should surely look for another high risk-reward like City player. So it "depends".

      1. Totally !rre!evant
        • 8 Years
        6 years, 2 months ago

I'm not so sure about that. Would you really want to Captain someone other than Kane when everyone else will have the C or TC on him? Doubt it.

However would you be willing to take a risk on someone in 34 when the captaincy will be more diverse, less risky and potentially greater rewarding?

I'm thinking about using TC this week.
I'm 36 behind and have enough differentials to my rival to catch him. If my differentials do well of course.

Liverpool are going to run themselves into the ground tonight, especially Robertson who is terrier. He was exhausted at 80 mins last week and didn’t play v Everton. I think there is a good chance he won’t play v Bournemouth. Which DDGW defender is worth bringing in for around 5m?

True, it's a risk. But with with Vert playing City it's like he only has one game in GW34 too. Smalling cheaper too and might still get two good fixtures, you never know. Would think about Vert after GW34 my self, but go with your gut.

Won't play both in a double but could still outscore Vertonghen

Likely to play only the game against City.

Did Pogba play in a more advanced role against City, or was he just lucky to get two goals from his usual defensive position? Considering him for the double 🙂

Is this bench boost worth it? No free hit so need to keep an eye on 35 players

    Hennessy • Kenedy • Mili • Salah

Right now I have 5 sgw players Wiz - mustafi, sterling, firmino , Roberson, aubameyang

Aubameyang will become lukaku. Any more transfer will cost me -4. Which one should I replace ?

Would you do Auba, Salah, Son to Kane, San(c)hez, 4.5 for -4 ?

IDo you think Ryan Morgan Chilwell Albrighton are really worth a BB this week?

Don't see Ryan and Morgan getting more than 2 pts / game. Chilwell and Albri may get an assist each max. Don't think either BHA or LEI will keep a cleanie...

Yes, look at their remaining fixtures. When would a BB be better?

To be frank, no. But I think it’s too late to try to BB 37 since the team would need so many hits to have a good enough BB squad then.
