Budget differentials on offer at Leicester, Everton and Burnley for Blank Gameweek

Following on from the rotation-laden marvel that was Double Gameweek 32, it’s time to clear the decks and recalibrate our teams for the six-game Blank Gameweek ahead.

Only two of the top four are due to play which emphasises the need to find those differentials that can provide an extra edge and much-needed boost.

Here are three low-owned players flying under the radar that may be of interest to you

Youri Tielemans

Price: £6.1m

Ownership: 1.7%

Despite only being at Leicester City for a short period of time, Youri Tielemans (£6.1m) has already proven to be an excellent signing.

It’s surprising that he isn’t owned by more FPL managers at this point, especially when considering that he’s registered five attacking returns in his last five games.

The Belgian international is also averaging more points per game (4.9) than any other Leicester City player since his arrival.

With that said, he’s only had six penalty area touches in his last four games which is a bit of concern in terms of his goal scoring potential.

But with Tielemans it really is all about his standout assists potential. The last 10 chances that he has created have included four assists.

He becomes all the more worthwhile when he also has Jamie Vardy at the end of his crosses who has netted six goals in his last seven outings.

No doubt there will be concerns that Leicester players are ‘on the beach’ with their safe position of ninth, but they, and their new manager still have a lot to prove and will be looking to keep up their performances.

What better way for Tielemans to continue his fine form than against an already relegated Huddersfield team that have conceded 1.84 goals per average in the Premier League this season.

Dominic-Calvert Lewin

Price: £5.4m

Ownership: 1.8%

In some ways, it’s frustrating that Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.4m) hasn’t started more matches since August, especially after registering twelve attacking returns last season.

Following on from that, prior to Gameweek 17, he only played two full Premier League games, which coincided with a period when Richarlison was encroaching on his potential game time as a centre-forward.

But since the end of February, Calvert-Lewin has started every game for Everton during which he has registered two goals and one assist.

His form in the last six Gameweeks in comparison to other players valued at £6m or less cannot be ignored, especially when looking at goal attempts (second), shots inside the box (second) and headed goal attempts (first).

Of course, it’s always a concern when Everton face Arsenal, especially when considering that the Gunners have won more top-flight matches against them than any other opponent as well as their recent form.

But Emery’s Arsenal seem to be more vulnerable when playing on the road, having conceded almost two goals per away league game on average since August, and are without a Premier League clean sheet on their travels all season.

Calvert-Lewin is capable of causing their defence problems and will be a nuisance especially when considering that more than half of his touches have come in the final third since Gameweek 31.

Dwight McNeil

Price: £4.4m

Ownership: 0.8%

Burnley have been a shadow of their former selves this season and in some ways will be grateful to avoid relegation come May. In spite of their troubles, Dwight McNeil (£4.4m) has seized his opportunity as a product of their youth academy and has begun to make his mark in the first team.

He has gradually cemented his place as one of their most promising attacking players and has made the left flank his own, as demonstrated by his heatmap.\

McNeil’s Premier League heatmap for all matches of the 2018/19 season

He scored his first ever Premier League goal in only his third ever appearance. This was later followed by two consecutive assists.

More recently McNeil has scored in back-to-back games. He is averaging 46.1 minutes per goal attempt and 64 minutes per chance created, which isn’t bad at all for an attacking player that is priced at less than £5m and plays for a team in the bottom half of the table.

You could even buy him as a one week punt and then keep him as a squad enabler for the remainder of the season.

Unlike some of the teams above them, Burnley still have all to play for and will be looking to win as many games as possible until safety is assured.

Bournemouth have conceded more than a goal per game at the Vitality Stadium and if Burnley do score again, I wouldn’t put it past McNeil to be involved in some shape or form.

Herd mentality converging on Tielemans/Maddison but is Siggy a better pick? On set pieces and has racked up a lot of points?

Not much between them except one plays a top 6 club and the other Huddersfield.

General rational thought of fixture over form more than herd...not that many choices in this world.

This coming dgw WC is going to be huge. Every year I load up on dgw players only to get burnt, as they just play the 1 game (lots of rotation with premium assets who have more fixtures due to making it deeper into other competitions).

This one, looks like it could be a similar trap. Who thinks a smattering of dgw is the way to go, due to the fact that there are some tasty SGW anyway, plus, your squad can look good into the next week etc.

Or just go for it, load up and Bench Boost?

Its a tough one. There is not really going to be a relegation scrap this year so teams chasing 7th/champions league might be better options over 2 games and less likely to be rotated imo.

I get the 'Salah, he'd due', but that's like heads n tails. I just feal form is the way, and Haz vs leaky W Ham is the way, plus the enjoyment of (C) in the last match (unless you listened to me, and all your rivals had a Salah haul).

I'm thinking Hamer, Fraser, Wan Bisaka, and Bacuna. If Morgan gets dropped for Maguire then Fraser comes in.

Struggling to make the maths work! Other than Fraser, difficult to find much value to lose in that bench.
ML leader has Salah though, so nervous going into the week without him!

    One week punt before wildcard:

    A) Digne -> Luiz (bench Arnie)
    B) Arnie -> Rondon (bench Barnes from Leicester)

My rival's just used his on Aguero - while I FH'd. Since I'll be WC34 and BB35 the only real options are here and now or a Liverpool player in 36 - and I think Vardy is more central to the goals than one of Liverpool's front 3 which is why he's edging it!

    Good afternoon.

    Fab
    VVD - TAA - Pereira - Rice
    Mads - Lanzini - Salah - Lerma
    Vardy - Wilson

    (Rui Pat, Pogba Aguero Shaw)

Can do Pogba + Aguero -> Hazard and Lacazette for -4. WCing next week anyway.

    Worth it?

    Thanks

    Hello!

    Noob questions:
    a) Is there likely to be any doubles in GW 36,37 or 38?
    b) Can you bench boost the same GW that you wildcard?
