Aubameyang benched for the fourth time in six Premier League games

Everton face Arsenal in the only Premier League match taking place today, with kick-off at Goodison Park at 14:05 BST.

There were no shocks in the Toffees’ original line-up as Marco Silva unsurprisingly named the same starting XI that dominated in the 2-0 win over West Ham United last weekend.

However, Michael Keane took ill in the warm-up and has been replaced by Phil Jagielka at centre-half.

There are some noteworthy inclusions and omissions in Unai Emery’s team, however.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is named among the substitutes for the fourth time in Arsenal’s last six Premier League matches, as Alexandre Lacazette ploughs a lone furrow as the central striker in a 3-4-2-1.

Mesut Ozil starts his first away league game of 2019 and is joined by Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the attacking midfield positions, with the Armenia international taking the place of Alex Iwobi.

Aaron Ramsey has recovered from a minor groin injury but is only on the bench, so Mohamed Elneny gets a rare start in central midfield.

Granit Xhaka and Laurent Koscielny aren’t fit enough to feature, while Lucas Torreira serves the final match of a three-game ban.

Lacazette is among the form forwards in FPL, having delivered an attacking return in each of his last six appearances.

The French striker also scored – along with Aubameyang – in the reverse fixture back in September.

Arsenal haven’t recorded a clean sheet away from home all season, however.

Only Manchester City (eight) have kept more top-flight shut-outs than Everton (six) in 2019.

Four of the Toffees’ clean sheets have come in the last five Gameweeks.

No FPL player priced below £9.0m has scored more Premier League goals than Gylfi Sigurdsson or Richarlison (12 each) this season, meanwhile.

Everton XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford, Coleman, Jagielka, Zouma, Digne, Gomes, Gueye, Bernard, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

Arsenal XI (3-4-2-1): Leno, Mustafi, Sokratis, Monreal, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Guendouzi, Kolasinac, Özil, Mkhitaryan, Lacazette.

He's on set pieces and less prone to rotation, that's for sure.

Son for me. Eriksen was more advanced and Alli dropped deep in the last game. I don't see that as a permanent thing. Also not the first time it's happened this season, but only hyped due to the haul. I see both of them alternating, while Son is almost always advanced

Would take Son's rotation risk since it comes with his much higher ceiling

Note: Son would be the only known rotation risk in my team for the rest of the season, so I can afford the risk

Oh. Totally out of curiosity here, what do you mean? What will change? Eriksen went back to his deep role and Alli went forward when Winks was subbed on?

Alli went further forward. He had been playing in front of back 4.

            Eriksen unaffected.

Never seen a CB moan as much as Mustafi. The guy just loves to claim offside or a foul, doesnt he? Everyone knows you play to thw whistle.

Wouldnt go so far as to say that. But massive overhaul definitely in order of club cilture, players, philiosophy etc. Not a one season fix.

Emery has a lot of work to do to fix so many issues.

Yeah. You've got a good crop of players. Your defence has steadily improved in recent weeks too. Hell, I'd say Silva deserves to keep his job. I rhoight he wouldnt be able to, but he's actually done fine this season imo.

Just a lot of deadwoord to sell though.

Tosun not the right fit. Richarlison needs to be in the wing.

DCL, idk, he's done alright imo. Maybe as a decent backup. I see your point, Silva needs to pinpoint the right striker for his system.
