Captains

Captain poll wide open for Double Gameweek 35

We are set for another wide open captaincy debate for Double Gameweek 35 of Fantasy Premier League.

There are a number of teams with two fixtures, but very few of those are particularly appealing – so it’s possible that Fantasy managers may have to turn to single Gameweek options.

You can now vote in our latest poll embedded below or in the sidebar.

Manchester City have arguably two of the hardest meetings of the season in their attempt to retain the Premier League title.

First, they host Spurs before travelling to face their city rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The form of Raheem Sterling (£11.5m) could see him receive some attention but his record in matches against the top-six and the fact that he remains a rotation risk may put people off.

Likewise, Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.7m) chances of starting both Double Gameweek 35 matches seem low at this stage, especially as his services will probably be required in midweek Champions League action.

For the same reason, options such as Son Heung-min (£8.8m) could be hard to captain, considering he was named on the bench in Spurs’ Double Gameweek 34 win over Huddersfield.

Manchester United are in a similar position as they must travel to Everton, who have five clean sheets in their last seven, and host in-form Manchester City.

Arguably, the team with the best set of fixtures in Double Gameweek 35 is Wolves as they host Brighton and Arsenal.

Neither of their next two opponents have been particularly strong on their travels this season, while Wolves themselves have won four of their last five at Molineux, scoring 12 goals and conceding five times in that run.

That could see Raúl Jiménez (£6.9m) or even Diogo Jota (£6.2m) trusted with the armband by those looking for a pragmatic differential option.

Watford also have some appealing fixtures with a trip to Huddersfield and a home meeting with Southampton.

However, with Troy Deeney (£5.9m) now suspended and Gerard Deulofeu‘s (£5.6m) fitness situation currently unclear, backing the Hornets may prove difficult.

Arguably, the most attractive fixture of Double Gameweek 35, is Liverpool’s trip to Cardiff.

The Bluebirds have conceded at least two in seven of their last eight league matches, while the Reds are fresh off the back of defeating Chelsea 2-0.

They may only have one fixture in Double Gameweek 35, but the case for captaining either one of Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) or Sadio Mané (£10.1m) will be strong.

    Foster. Boruc
    Doherty. Cathcart. Trippier. Duffy. Bednarek
    Hazard. Son. Mané. Pogba. B.Silva
    Deeney. Rashford. Jiménez

Is Jimenez a viable TC option for 35? or any other TC option?

Don't want to play BB with BHA/SOU players with their fixture in 35. GW 36 looks better on paper for both the team+ FTs to make some change

Richarlison -> Deulofeu (if he's fit)
    Barnes -> Jimenez

    My side

    Foster Ryan
    Robertson Laporte Bony Valery Duffy
    Mane Sterling Son Doucoure Hojberg
    Aguero Vardy Jimenez

    Thinking:

    A) Ryan > Leno
    B) Ryan and Duffy > Lloris and a 4.2 defender (-4)
    C) Duffy > Lindelof

    Thoughts? Thanks!

On B.B. and wanting to get salah for Tc36 (need to downgrade vardy for this)

    Do I:
    A) get Wilson and need a -4 to downgrade Duffy (probably for peltier)
    B) get a 5.9 or below striker

Could do, could not, I’d probably stick with Mané if it’s going to cost hits.

Ings thought could be good if that is for free. Best fixtures till end of season and on pens.

Might be an unpopular opinion but Llorente could be a great differential, he did his job well and got a lot of praise from Poch so if all goes well midweek I think he could be a nice differential. Gray may not play, Ings may not play both so to me it's between C and D

Long is less likely to play than Ings for me.

    0.2 ITB, aiming to BB.

BB with 0.8 ITB, 2 FT. Considering Vardy, King, McNeil & Azpilicueta -> Jimenez (C), Lacazette, Redmond and Doherty (-8). Would leave me with this:

    Fabianski, Ryan*
    Duffy*, Kolasinac*, Doherty*, Bednarek*, Robertson
    Son*, Eriksen*, Redmond*, Mane, Salah
    Jimenez*, Lacazette*, Wilson

Any other suggestions please? Keen to get Jimenez and Lacazette in and I need Redmond and Doherty to fund the transfers.

If somehow you can get an extra ticket I’ll pay you and buy all the drinks.
When the Chelsea fans started singing @wheres your famous atmosphere?” it just had a catalyst affect and dialled up the home support and buggered them.

I have to be honest, I thought the Chelsea away fans behaved admirably. Respected the minutes silence, no offensive chants and from what I saw, didn't retaliate to the stupid Liverpool fan throwing a flare at them.

Spurs have 3 games in a week. Surely Son doesn't play all of those, right? Obviously will play CL tomorrow, but maybe off the bench against Brighton...?

Van Dijk / Kola / Valery / Wan Bisaka / Boly
