FPL Lunch Club – The Final Countdown

The final Fantasy Premier League deadline of 2018/19 is at 14:00 BST today.

Our very last (retitled) Breakfast Club of the season will be beaming live on our YouTube channel from around 13:45 BST with all the build-up to the ten Premier League matches taking place this afternoon.

As soon as the FPL deadline passes we’ll be bringing you the all-important team news from around the grounds.

The matches at the Amex and Anfield will determine the destination of the Premier League title, with Manchester City needing only to match Liverpool’s result to claim the trophy for a second successive season.

David and Neale will also discuss their Gameweek 38 transfers and reveal who they are captaining today.

A post-match Scoutcast will follow this evening – very likely around 18:00 BST – to dissect the final-day action.

    This is it. This amazing season is ending. I say amazing because it was clearly my best in 6 attempts. Currently 14k and hoping for a miracle to break inside the top 10k (I will be the one who celebrates most Long or Doucouré goals today). Just want to say this season has proven to me that putting effort and time into the game do work out much better than hoping for good luck. I won't say it's a "skill game", but more a "knowledge game". Getting all the infos, all the ideas, all the stats, and then make something from there. My worst ever record is 500k and it was a season when I was away working in Mexico, 14h/day and 6d/week. Missed a lot of infos and deadlines, and was basically really sad and frustrated of how my life as long a my FPL hobby were going. This year has been much more fun, and it's partly because of FPL and this community too, so cheers you all and I hope you'll have a cracking Gameweek 38!

          People hugely underestimate variance and attribute good seasons to skill instead of luck. Thats my point. Wasnt intended to come off as bitter.

        Throughout the season I guess I've had as much good luck as bad luck (loads of bench points for example). But in the end my decisions were made in a much more logical way than past seasons, that helps a lot imo.

        This is my 6th season and my worst. My problem this year has been over-thinking, changing my mind about moves 2 or 3 times before doing it. That and taking -4 hits too often for the wrong players a GW too late or too early. Next year I'm going with my first instinct and will not take -4 hits

          No, your problem has been you have been unlucky 🙂 That means you start second-guessing your strategy. If you had been luckier you would be praising yourself for putting in a lot of time thinking about your moves.

    Been having a great season but really regretting two recent decisions. Went Mendy over Laporte on WC it didn’t account for Zinchenko. The hit out Doherty for “The Relegator” PVA last week and he didn’t even play!

    Still, with perspective, I’ve been lucky a decent bit this year. Hope you’ve all had a good one and don’t have too many regrets!
