FPL is live for 2024/25: All you need to know

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has gone live for the 2024/25 season – and managers can now set their squads up for the new campaign.

The launch comes after a week of price reveals in which 176 Premier League players were priced up across all 20 top-flight clubs.

We’ll begin rounding up the newly released prices in more articles to come.

WHAT’S NEW IN FPL

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) had previously said there will be “exciting new features” in this season’s game.

On Tuesday, FPL finally announced three major changes: the ability to roll up to five transfers (and keep the saved ones after using a chip), a new Mystery Chip, and minor tweaks to the scoring system/Bonus Points System.

The interface has also been altered, including the welcome move of the chips to an area where they are less likely to be accidentally clicked:

WHAT’S STAYED THE SAME IN FPL

Everything else of note in FPL seems to have remained the same.

Aside from the ‘Mystery Chip’, the other chips are as they were (two Wildcards, one Free Hit, one Bench Boost and one Triple Captain).

The Gameweek deadlines remain at 90 minutes prior to the first kick-off.

Other than goalkeepers getting 10 points for a goal, there are no other direct changes to the scoring system – so no ball recoveries, as some were predicting.

    Best Aston Villa 4.5? Keep seeing Konsa everywhere, so I assume Cash/Digne/Moreno all too risky minutes-wise.

      Maatsen priced above Digne & Moreno at 5m suggests they think he'll be first choice but any of them are a little risky. Also don't know what will happen with Mings/Pau so Konsa is the safe option

        Totally agree with that. Defenders will score less across the board. Plus we are going to have multiple starting 4.0s from promoted sides. Probably the way to go this year.

      I have three at the moment: Tosin, Burn, Andersen. All this is very subject to change based on what preseason suggests about usage.

      Leif Davis could be a really sexy pick, but I'm leaning towards a conservative approach in early drafts and trying to stick with more established teams.

        Looks better with Mateta/Solanke instead of Gakpo tbf. However, I think this season we might all want a bit more on our benches to be able to roll over those transfers a tad more easily in case of injury/suspension.

          Apparently he isn’t anymore. I’ve read several comments from Newcastle fans that he’s not first choice anymore although Howe always rated him. Pre-season should answer this.

    Has anybody else had problems with the squad value calculations? I entered the team below FPL said I had left 3.0m ITB, which I knew was wrong so I added up all the players values and they came to 95.0 with 1 mid to add. So I quit out and reentered the team, and it added up correctly to 95m.

    I've just removed Colwill. CHE have a load of tasty 4.5 defenders, but I just realised they've already spunked nearly £100m on new players this summer, some of whom are defenders. Way too tricky nailing minutes in that crowd.

      I got those 3 as well - suspect the auto pick team was actually better than what I will end up with.
