This is possibly relatively sad/obsessive, but some Asian cup analysis re: Stockdale for you all -
It's somewhat unlikely that Stockdale will be playing GW25 against Newcastle. Australia and South Korea are in the same group in the Asian cup, having both played two matches each, and are level on points with one game left each. Australia have +3 better goal difference though. South Korea play India today, and Australia play Bahrain, also today. Both teams are surely going to win, and unless SK beat India by 3 goals better than Australia beat Bahrain, then Australia top the group.
Australia will then most likely play Iraq or North Korea in the quarters (Fri 21st Jan), and would likely go through, but it's not a certainty. Awaiting them in the semis (25th Jan) would be Uzbekistan/Jordan. Basically, they're path to the final (should they top the group tonight) will not contain Iran, Japan or South Korea, so they're heavy favourites to make the final on 29th January.

GW25: 2 Feb Newcastle home
GW26: 5 Feb Villa away
If the final is on Saturday 29th Jan and Australia win it, they'll be able to all fly home Sunday 30th, I presume? Schwarzer cold be home in England Monday 31st, 2 days before GW25 on wednesday night. They're definitely an argument to be made that Hughes may rest him and bring him back for Villa, but you never really know, especially with keepers. If the tournament hasn't been to hectic for Schwarzer he could just slot straight back in, meaning Stockdale only gets a single gameweek.
Just sayin, is all. But Stockdale could very well only play this GW, and that's if Australia go all the way to the final (which they probably will, tbh). At most, he's got GW24&25 - I think I'm gonna leave him out of my WC team despite having him in at the mo. Just seems like a waste of a transfer, unless you plan on leaving him to rot there and playing Foster every subsequent week?
The DGW coupled with his price is tempting, but Stoke/Liverpool could both easily score against Fulham. Might be a waste having him in for a far from definitely profitable DGW as opposed to getting someone like Begovic, even Al Habsi, for a similar price.Open Controls

Rooney is actually still averaging over 5 pts per 90mins this season, and that's at nowhere near his best form. Its surely only a matter of time before he bags a few goals - I reckon he is very likely to score at least 10 pts next GW, and could easily notch 16+. Should be a good captain choice

I wouldn't class DJ Campbell as someone you need to cover. Blackpool are at home twice but hardly have easy fixtures. Unless you want DJ long-term, or are wildcarding shortly, then I wouldn't bother. There are so many good striker options for the next few gameweeks that I wouldn't want him clogging one of my spaces up.

You know i'm not sure a United Defender is even so essential this week.
Not many teams have kept a clean sheet at Blackpool, and i wouldn't bet on one there.
Brum looks a good shout but banking on clean sheets is always so fragile, takes one moment for it to disappear.
