The Scout Agree Premier League Deal

We’re delighted and proud to announce that Fantasy Football Scout has agreed a deal with the Premier League to provide a weekly column for their official Fantasy game.

“The Scout” will make an appearance twice a week throughout the season to provide Gameweek preview and review articles and will also be supplying injuries and suspension information via our newly designed systems.

The review article will include full details on Bonus Point awards for a given Gameweek and seek to remove any ambiguity surrounding assists awards.

The agreement is the culmination of months of discussions and hard work behind the scenes and I’d like to thank Chris (Elfozzie) for his efforts in securing this deal and all the contributors who have established this site as a source of editorial and information worthy to support the biggest Fantasy game around.

We’d also like to thank the community that has supported us and helped to make the site what it is. We really have made great strides in recent years and that is down to the knowledge, enthusiasm and support you have shown for what we’re trying to achieve with Fantasy Football Scout.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    People need to remember how reliable the scout picks were last season 😉

    Seriously, it will make the game harder a bit, but just having information doesn't mean the regular people are going to benefit from it. Think how many bandwagons got rolling and ended up going nowhere?

    Now if they start playing the podcasts in the background of the site when you log in on Saturday mornings then we'll have a problem 😉

      I agree. No offence but the advice on this site is often questionable to say the least. Remember the noise they made re Boselli last season LOL! I use this site more for the news links and injury information (which is very helpful). Beyond that i make up my own mind with regard to who is in and who is out - i finished in the top 1200 2 years in a row and it would have been worse if i had followed the FFS advice to the letter!

        Also i assume this means the end of 'The Pundit'? The Pundit often flagged up useful players so really it is not that much of a difference, just someone else writing it. Just depends on whether the players actually read the advice or not.

      I think flagging bonus scores in a week is a step too far, people can logon to the site and see that without it being spoon fed to them. You can't remove all the work required, that is just silly.

    I say congratulations to the scouts. I personally don't think it's a big deal. There's alot of people that use this sight alot and still don't do that great. On the flip side, there's lots that don't use the sight that do fantastically well. It's all about how you use the information and making astute decisions based on it (and luck).
    This place is not a buried secret. Just google Fantasy football and this comes up.
    The only thing it will mean for me is not linking my team

    Talksport asking who was the best non-UK player in the Premier League era. Most people going for Zola or Cantona, but I reckon cron all the way. Were Zola or Cantona ever considered to be in the top 2 footballers while they played? Bit before my time.

      Is that debate about Premier League games only? If so I don't care, but otherwise Schmeichel or Henry imo.

      Zola and Cantona are worthy club legends but never produced enough in Europe or with the national team to be truly great players. In fact I think both Zola and Cantona get much more praise than they deserve. They came around at the right time for their respective teams but compare them to Schmeichel, Henry, Bergkamp, Ronaldo and Keane that's allowed and they don't stand much chance.

      Oh and Zola or Cantona were at no point in their career anywhere near being in the top2 in of the world TJ, since you ask

        @ Gargamel - very sensible post. The league was very weak indeed when Cantona played in it. Principally because there were no ‘foreigners’ in it. If you look at a premiership leading scorers’ table from Cantona’s time you’ll see that all the other players in it were English. We saw at the time what true world class players were like when [for example] Manyoo got nailed 4-0 by Barcelona with Romario and Stoichkov in top form. Cantona was nowhere near the standards of the top international players of his day. The France national team never particularly needed him and in fact became a good deal stronger after he retired. Although they didn’t play in precisely the same position he wasn’t remotely in the same league as someone like Zidane.

        On the other hand with the very top players, notably Thierry Henry and Christiano Ronaldo, you knew for a fact that when English clubs played even the very top European opposition that those guys were as good as pretty much any of the players that Arsenal or Manyoo would come up against.

    Well done Mark and co for a top achievement.

    Have to agree with Needle Vor slightly (vomits on keyboard in self loathing) in that its a shame that all the best band wagons are now going to be advertised to the sheep who just looka t what the pundit says and go with it (and there are several hundred thousand of these). Can't be helped mind.

    Might go and vomit some more now.

    In light of being FFS “outed” in my mini-leagues over the next couple of weeks I might as well stop lurking in the shadows. I do applaud Mark and the FFS boys for their work here and the good community of regular forum posters -however stroppy some of them are. I’m not all doom and gloom but I imagine there will be a significant rise in visitors initially -which is great for FFS however; I do fear the influx of Yahoo, Sun forum “contributors” which will become rapidly tiresome and I know it that would stop me reading through the forums. It’s a difficult balance to get right but I have to admit if there was a member’s area forum I would probably sign up. If anything it may stem the possible (brain –loosely suggested) drain away of regulars and people actually interested in the game from posting/visiting.

    Same here 4fabregas.

    I told all people in my mini league about this site and just got a load of mocking back.

    Go online and see other fantasy forums that openly mock people who use this site. I've seen plenty of those.

    I appreciate the annoyance of people in money leagues who feel like their advantage has been taken away.

    But, at the end of the day, it boils down to the fact that you have to stand or fall based on the team you pick.

    Just be thankful you've had an advantage for this long.

    Really pleased for the site .. team unlinked for anonymity, username to be changed. Let's not all get caught up in this though - if you rely on this site too much, where is the skill involved?!

    People who care enough like me will use the site, others will only dabble. Those who were challenging in the top 25,000 last year were probably already using the site anyway. There's bound to be an influx of new users but how about we embrace that - the more the merrier I say.

    Congratulations Mark & the team, a great achievement to strike such a deal.

    As for the mixed reactions from people here surely Mark must have been expecting a fair share of negative response. I think most of the negativity on here right now is huge overreactions to a situation we know almost nothing about. We don’t know how this new column will be advertised on FPL and we don’t know many who will actually read it. How many of you read the current pundit on FPL? For the people running this site I hope this will result in a few more memberships and some fresh faces contributing to the discussions here. But to be honest I can’t see this having a large scale effect on the community nor the game. Sure the competition will be a bit stiffer this season then but it’s not like the information on here guarantees any kind of success. You still have to know what to look for and how to process that information.

    I my self am mostly positive about this but let’s just wait and see how it will work out.

      I think the site has proven itself to be the best by consistently helping people reach the upper echelons and even win it. Name changes and de-linking teams aren't such a bad thing.

        I agree there probably are a some negative effects to this, such as people possibly being less inclined to share thoughts on different matters and suggestions that will affect the community. But generally you don't see a whole lot of new faces around here that actually breaks in to the community. I've been around here for 3 years but I keep seeing the same faces all the time and surely this site gets discovered by new people every day.

    Totally off topic, but does anyone in the UK use Boylesports.com? Just want to know if it's one of those annoying foreign-based betting sites that demands you send them a copy of your passport and 6 months of bank statements before they can pay you any potential winnings?

    They're offering 8 places on the Open, but I'm not getting involved unless it's a proper instant bank transfer site.

        I think with the change in events maybe 1 of them MIGHT come on here and ask for advice but he's stubborn in changing his team so I'm not worried. I can see your point, but stop being a little bitch about it, you've lost a slight advantage to your rivals in a game based on luck. Deal with it.
