Watchlist

The Watchlist- Gabby Agbonlahor

With three strong fixtures on the horizon for Aston Villa, Gabby Agbonlahor makes a leap up the updated Watchlist rankings.

This season has seen the Villa player reinvigorated under new boss Alex McLeish and at present, he’s the third-top scoring forward in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game- only Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero have returned more points after eight Gameweeks.

Already, he’s netted 4 times and contributed 3 assists- significantly, this has surpassed last season’s totals of 3 and 1 respectively and Agbonlahor is also proving himself to be something of a bonus magnet. To date, he’s picked up 9 points- last season he failed to register a single bonus point in comparison. Clearly, his game is more suited to the new scoring system, with only Aguero –with 10- returning more thus far. His side’s increased solidity under Alex McLeish and a role through the centre are also contributing factors in this upturn in Fantasy fortunes.

A run of fixtures that reads (WBA, sun, NOR) is promising, then. The Baggies have conceded 2 or more goals in all but one of their away games so far and with Agbonlahor scoring in three of his four home matches, you’d expect him to be amongst the points.

A trip to Sunderland should hold no fear, either- the Black Cats have shipped at least 2 goals in four of their last five fixtures and despite scoring just once on his travels, Agbonlahor has only failed to either score, assist or return bonus in just one match so far- Villa’s 4-1 defeat at Man City last weekend. Norwich’s failure to record a clean sheet this season only furthers his short-term potential.

Agbonlahor has risen 0.7 already but a lowly starting price of just 6.5 means he’s available for 7.2 right now and is a real mid-price bargain on the top of his form. Owned by 17% of Fantasy managers, he’s firmly put Darren Bent in the shade this season with consistent Fantasy returns and looks likely to continue in the same vein before Villa’s fixture list toughens up considerably from Gameweek twelve onwards.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

          Jack cut&paste from last post
Doesn’t make sense to me in terms of risk vs reward. Decent chance he’ll get a few more points than nani in the next 3 gw’s, don’t think the dif will be massive. Negatives are you’ll use 2 of your next 4 freebies on it and Kuyt could be benched at any point, KK likes his midfield to be fluid & change formation throughout a match and Hendo gives width when needed or can play narrow to make three in the centre

But Lucas is suspended so surely he will play.
Its always possible that he scores a few over the next 3 weeks and he is a big differential at only 1.5%
So even if he only outscores him by a few points, it will shoot me up further than Nani does.
            Argghh haha

Sod it, I'm gonna do it! Averaged nearly 9 points at home this season and is against Everton. I just have a good feeling about this one. Besides only other "normal" decent captain options in my team this weekend are Rooney, or Silva, and I'm not too sure about either. Maybe Adebayor? meh

Lost on last post.....AGAIN. Note to self, always check for new posts.

People of FFS land! A quick teaser for you. Nothing as mad as pick my captain or which one of these crazy punts should I take this week.

Simply, out of these three, which one should I play and which two should I bench? My other 10 players are sorted, but that 11th man spot is up for grabs. Currently edging towards playing Bosingwa.

    The three lucky lads are

    Bosingwa
    Dyer
and the two point wonder from Wigan, Victor Moses.

    Vote now!

Hi guys – my team is:
    Vorm
    RJ, Enrique, Raylor, Bosingwa
    Petrov, Silva, Arteta,
    Rooney, RVP(v), Suarez(c)
    Subs,Moses, Dyer, Brown, Kenny.
I am thinking of saving my transfer as my team feels strong – I need to change Kenny, but Vorm has two good games, so I might hold off. I was thinking of changing Arteta to Ramsey, but might give him one more week. Any advise/comments on captain/vice and order or team/subs? Thanks

From the Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle today

QPR will go for all out attack on Sunday – and if Chelsea score six in the mouth-watering west London derby – so be it.

Manager Neil Warnock reckons his side’s only chance of causing an upset is to go hammer and tong in the neighbours’ final third.

I made a really stupid double transfer the previous week Assou-Ekotto in Sanderos out AND Murphy in Sessegnon out.
I did not have the foresight to realise that spurs do not have a central defence these days...

      1) Ask Pards.
      2) Possibly, but unlikely.
      3) Ask Wenger.
      4) For some games, but not all.
      5) Possibly, but he's done nothing wrong this season.
      6) I don't favour mid-priced Defs, only top drawer or cheapies to rotate, so no, IMO.
      7) Guardian Squad Sheets say no, so he probably will.

      Regards, Frazek.

Any recommendations for a cheap defender. Have Simpson and Gabbidon on the bench, will keep Simpson for a few more weeks (worried Santon will take his place). But Getting rid of Gabbidon. So I have only 4.1 to spend – I’m thinking Wilkinson, Boyata or more than likely Neil Taylor. Is it worth wasting a transfer on this?

who will you plain in defence this week? might have a bearing on whether you need to make an unnecessary transfer

Fair point, I will be starting Enrique - Walker & more than likely Kompany over Simpson, Gabbidon is the defender who I want out, but I'm not sure if it's worth the transfer.

Play Nani and Silva, Bench someone else. Captain the penalty taker if u must to choose from those 2. And play Bego. More save points and Ars could easily draw a blank

bit too much NEW defence? if WIG score just one then it's double trouble at the back.

why not start Kompany? i know he's up against Man Utd but Rule # 1: always play your strongest team.

Daniel Sturridge has scored four goals from five shots on target in the Premier League this season. He has also averaged a goal every 132 minutes in his career so far

First stat is not that encouraging. That means he is over achieving ATM. The second one is good.
