Save the transfer or make a defensive one. I would suggest to save it. Or if u want to gamble one week pun on Kun captain for Persie

Saving the transfer is the best option. My team is balanced. I'm a bit concerned about my defence and Lambert though.

Loving the dead zone. Always good discussions and no new page whenever I post a question.
    Benching dilemma:

Who 2 to play from: Nolan, Michu Sterling ?

Michu has the toughest fixtures but he is such a natural goal scorer and he scored a brace last year away at Real Madrid even they lost 6:2
Nollan has the easiest fixture on paper also a huge goal threat and with Carrol back that is increased only.
Sterling - He has the confidence had a great game and historically Liv always win against Ever. He should be in the pts too.

Please help. Who and if possible why.

Tough call really, I'd bench Michu though. Swansea have been out of sorts lately and they have been fortunate to have good fixtures. I can see Citeh cleaning them up and they will be tight at the back.

I am scared from the fact that he scored 2 goals against Real in the away game. Fun fact nah? City has only one CS this year and Michu already scored a brace in away game. He has the highest potential from those 3 no?

Big fan of Sterling, Rodgers is working on him scoring more, his price does not represent his potential, bargain of the season, Can't remember who the Hammers are playing, but with Carroll about he is always in with a real chance of returns. Those two for me, whilst nervously praying Michu doesn't deliver.

@Ryan...totally disagree that Dzeko can be compared to a Kolarov move...it's a short term idea that might pay off due to Dzeko's extraordinary efficiency at scoring goals when it matters. I think he has played his way into Mancini's thoughts and will duly be given more minutes.

You've got to remember Kolarov is an expensive enough defender that has Clichy for competition...there is no way of telling when he will play or when to buy him. However, the City strikers are always playing and scoring in turns. I don't see it as such a massive punt as it is for short term gain only...Having Kolarov in your team for an extended period is only going to lose you opportunities of points elsewhere. I can see the value of nailed on attacking defenders...but ultimately a defenders worth is his consistent CS potential combined with fixtures.

I don't believe it would be far-fetched to say Dzeko could get at least 3 goals in the next 4 games if he gets the game time. He is showing himself to be a better source of goals than Tevez by far. Tevez is actually playing more as a playmaker in general I feel.

    Interesting debate anyway.

No doubt he is a useful impact sub but you can't expect him to score goals from the bench all the time. What it does prove is that he will get his fair share of 1 pt cameo's unlike Kolarov (who will be less likely to come off the bench)

Haha, mate by saying that he is better because essentially he is a goal scoring striker is a terrible defence. He will be taking up one of the 3 striker spots and will start on the bench most games, just like Kolarov. The other thing is that essentially that means you will only have 2 strikers whereas at least Chinamag and co can afford to have Kolarov on the bench.

But the key point here is that it would be for 4 games...If he is say one of the top scoring strikers over the next 4 games...would that not make it a good idea in your opinion?

I'm just saying that at 7.5 he gives you access to City who will undoubtedly score more goals than most teams over the next 4.

Would appreciate your vote on who has to go out first:
    A) Rangel (impressive set of 1 pointers and on the verge of a 5 yellow card ban?)
    B) Lambert (rotation risk now, though perhaps with Adkins desperate for result, he will never ever be benched again?)
    C) Tevez (seems to keep on producing the points, but surely he'll have to go soon whatwith Mancini juggling his strikers for fun?)

Hmmm interesting dillema. Would you not think that Noble is still a good shout for some dodgy assits or goals from his set-piece deliveries / long punt on the general direction of Carrol?. Fwiw, I'd say that he'd still be a reliable presence in one's team and perhaps can be seen as a luxury transfer out target.....

That's the dillema I'm facing, deliver it to Carroll's head and Boom! And with the confirmation on him being on spot kicks, it's even tougher. But I'll have to play Michu or him each week, and their fixtures don't suit them at all. Might just keep him for this week and save the FT, and get him out next week.

Good to hear, I got my first draft today for this season. Wondering where should K Love should be taken. I am struggling to find the answer for my 14th pick(20 deep league, 9 cat H2H) Unless Howard or Josh Smith drop to me. Would K Love be a ok option maybe considering hell probably only miss 10 games.

When Love gets back, your oppnents will be trembling in fear. 🙂 Just try to compensate for his absence by drafting additional stud bigs.

But honestly, in a deep 20-teamer with the 14th pick, I'd take Demarcus Cousins. Always. Trust me on this one.

DMC is as guaranteed as you can get. 3rd year in the league, massive upside, main man of the Kings. Projected stats for him this season are 22 ppg, 12 rpg, 1.5 steals, 1.5 blocks.

If you really don't fancy him, take Kyrie Irving.

Thats a tad optimistic. He will have to improve on his fg% a lot to achieve that- I cant see him getting many more shots. Also rpg and steals are likely to drop. Because as we have a normal season, the overall FG% will go up and there will be less rebs to go around, also much less TOs. Thomas Robinson is also a huge rebs hog, could take some off him as well.
But good point about the third year. I think 20, 10, 1, 1.2 are more realistic.

    Foster - Begovic
    Baines - Jenkinson - Wilson - Gorkss - Demel
    Bale - Cazorla - Hazard - Sterling - Pienaar
    RvP - Ba - Berbatov

A: Hazard -> Mata ..it'd be hard to get Hazard back.
B: Pienaar + RvP -> Mata + Rooney ..I feel Rooney can gain as much points as RvP,
C: Pienaar + RvP -> Mata + Aguero ..City have better fixtures in next 4, but risky w/o United.

Thanks, Ryan. It's probably because I watched Chelsea, United, and Everton played this week and quite impressed with the fluid move of Chelsea. I feel they can score against anyone and having both the lucky man, Hazard, and a man in form, Mata, makes my team looks like a dream team.

I watched last 2 games of United that RvP and Rooney started together. I feel RvP had habit to stay out of the box, drifted wide, and crossed. Rooney had as much crosses as RvP but I feel he stayed in the central / in the box more than RvP. This put me to think of getting Rooney instead.

              But.. Very risky, I feel.

I need to come up with an equation to explain why Dzeko is not the same as a Kolarov punt within a 4 game period.

    Kolarov DEF
Pros: CS, assists, Set piece goals
Cons: Clichy preferred. 5.7 rotation risk defender = terrible value, liable to not play any minutes over a 3/4 game period.

    Dzeko: FWD
Pros: GOALS GOALS GOALS. Needs only to do his sole job of putting the ball in the net to score points and does not need 60mins to gain 4 points like Kolarov for CS points.
Cons: Rotation risk. Not the preferred striker over Aguero/Tevez

The one guarantee of City's next 4 games is Goals not CS or Spectacular free kicks from Kolarov. Dzeko can score a brace + Baps in one game and possibly outscore a striker in any other team over 4 games. Over that 4 game period 7.5m is great value. Whereas 5.7m for a defender who needs to play an entire game or get a one-off FK goal is much much riskier and not worth it.

    Anyway, haters gonna hate... 😯

Is it really different to a striker anyone owns playing 90 mins and failing to score leading to 2 points...The cons of any striker is the possibility of a 2 point misfire. At least in that price bracket...I would back Dzeko to score over most others in the next 4 if he can start some of them and play a part in the others.

But we all know Mancini's rotation...and in many ways it's easy to predict. Plus Balotelli is not going to be favoured over Dzeko the way Dzeko is delivering the goods. Dzeko has earned a few starts over the next 4.

also it proven mancini doesn't give a sh*t about dzeko form as he dropped him after he scored 4 goals v spurs

Basically if you think he can make an impact in 10-15 mins every game then bring him in. However I would personally want a striker who is going to play 90 mins for 7.5m and the valued 3rd striker spot.

However you seem to think he will score no matter what, go for it but don't cry when he delivers a load of 1's

In terms of prefered options re Clichy I would also say that Aguero/Tevez is the prefered option over Dzeko so that comparison cancels out as the same thing. The only difference is that one is a striker thus more likely to get goals and is subsequently more expensive whereas the other is a defender who can score a few goals and is cheaper, hardly groundbreaking stuff really.

The point you did miss is that it is better to have a defender who doesn't start than a striker who doesn't start. Although this may be offset by the fact that it is very much a short term punt so that cancels out as well.

In conclusion there is no real point of difference between him and Kolarov. Welcome to the Kolarov club 😉 Chinamag will support you 😆

For what it's worth, I'd rather have Kolarov than Dzeko as he's a fire and forget option who will be one of the highest scoring defenders in any given gameweek that he starts. Dzeko is a 7.5m rotation nightmare.

You have 5 defender positions in your squad.
Typically, a keen FPL-er will play 3 of them each week (thus trying to maximise attacking returns)
If a defender doesn't play, another defender will.
Forward spots are valuable as there are only 3.
Anything less than 5 pts from a forward spot is disappointing.
Forwards available each week that play the likes of Southampton, Reading, Norwich, QPR.
Dzeko competes with 3 world class strikers for game time.

Good moves. You'll then basically have my team, or the team I'm chasing with point hits, whereas you've had the foresight/patience. Well played!

    Begovic, Foster

    Baines, Gallas, Clark, Demel, Davies
    Cazorla, Bale, Michu, Pienaar, Sterling
    RVP, Berbatov, Lambert

    4.2m
    2FT's

    Lambert --> Ba
    Michu --> Mata

I'm very reluctant to sell Michu but what do you all think of the above transfers?

Southampton have good fixtures on paper and Lambert has good chance to come,, but i don't much believe in them as a team. I'd upgrade him for Ba.

Yeah I think that transfer is fairly nailed on. Its the Michu --> Mata one I'm worried about. Also wouldn't mind getting a stoke defender in.

Michu is Oop striker and I think it's worth to keep. Imo. I'd get rid of Pienaar instead of him.. The only reason that I got peanut because people on here rate him highly and suggest him instead of Nolan. I've not much impressed with him and feel my team can live without.

He was no good on the weekend because of the change in formation. I suspect he will start doing well once Fellaini returns. I think I will go over the OPTA stats to make a decision. You raise a fair point but then again, Evertons fixtures are much better, but then again I already have Baines. Hmm

Liking those transfers, Ryan. Wanted to do something similar with regards to Lambert > Ba. Would need a downgrade of Michu, though

If only I had that spare 4.2m in the kitty

      I say go for it!

Michu > Barfa still viable? I already have Ba for Newcastle coverage.
Also will Michu rise this week? I need 0.1 M to make that trade.

Gotta love it ay. I keep bouncing around between 20-30k and 40-50k for every green and red arrow. Its nice to get a green and be back in the 20-30k bracket though.

I'm thinking of playing it sensible and getting in Bale to go with Cazorla for next week instead of Mata. I'll feel a lot more comfortable in Man U keeping it reasonable than Southampton.

After watching sunderland's abject display yesterday, and suarez's horror show on saturday, i'm probably going to get rid of suarez and fletcher for ba and jelavic. Should I do this over two weeks and hope that suarez does something against everton. Or just take a hit and cleanse myself this week. Ba and Jelavic both have good home fixtures, compared with fletcher and suarez's crap away ones.

I'm commited to my no manchester striker strategy. At least until the winter WC.

I have got the feeling that aguero will be kept fresh for the champions league, and tevez for the league. Is that right?

In fact it comes down to whether you think Everton or Liverpool will win the derby. Personally I think Liverpool will do well so I'd favor Suarez over Jelly.

    Ivanovic Santon Ridgewell Cuellar Nelsen
    Bale Cazorla Pienaar Michu Marveaux

    2 FTs, 0.5m spare

Get rid! I should have got Ba over him 3 weeks ago 😡 it was a massive decision at the time and I'm gutted I fell on the wrong side of the fence.

Berbatov and Crouch are both good options but Fulhams greater goal threat edges it for me.

        Suarez, Fletcher, Lambert
