The Numbers Game – Goals Imminent?

With a nod to community member, “In-Tommy-We-Trust’s” excellent “Explosion Imminent” tables in our members area, this latest article focuses on those players who, over the last four Gameweeks, have been providing a significant goal threat without reward.

We take a look at the top performing individuals who have fired in the most shots without scoring, in an attempt to identify those perhaps most likely to provide imminent goal returns.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Blaaaaaargh Suarez or Sturridge?

Suarez leaves me with Clichy and a 4.0m def

Sturridge gives me Zabaleta and Azpilicueta.

    Thoughts?

How do we like Walters' chances of playing as second striker this GW versus Wigan at home? Considering a cheeky Nolan -> Walters one-GW punt. 5th highest scoring midfielder below 7M, best fixture this GW. Stoke's form is dire though :\

Rafael has played nearly all games he’s been available, only missing out when injured, so still a rotation risk now JOnes/Smalling are back, neither of which are natural RB’s?

Can decide whether to keep Gibbs, or swap for Rafa. Any thoughts?

Agree on the fixtures, but ARS don't do clean sheets, so relying more on attacking from Gibbs, whereas MANU with Rafa offers both.

Sagna has been whipping in more crosses and having more touches in the final third than Gibbs over the last 4-6 matches. Okay he probably won't ever score, but in terms of attacking prowess they're both pretty similar I'd say.

Sagna is a touch cheaper too - and guaranteed to start. might be worth cashing in on gibbs if you got him a while ago as they havent kept a clean sheet in a while

I think Suarez is the standout captaincy choice for potential double in GW26, yes.

Nah, I'm staying with Sturridge as it frees up cash to get Gerrard who I can captain

The captain choice will be key as most of us will have the same players.. Suarez could score back to back hattricks, can you imagine that?

    My WC team:

    Rudd Bego
    Zabaleta Rafael Davies Harte Dawson
    Michu Felliani Guthrie Mata Walcott
    RVP Suarez Aguero

Not having Bale is my one real worry. Don't want to go 3-5-2, so Felliani would be my candidate to drop, but his next 2 fixtures are great. Worried over his deep position though.

Felliani -> Bale, could downgrade Rafael/Dawson to 4m cheapies. Or Downgrade Aguero to Fletcher?

FWIW, I think we'll see Fer play DMF for EVE with Fellaini pushed forward again - I'd like to see it first however.
