Peaks and troughs – every Fantasy season has them and, this week, we revel in the Professor’s major trough in a futile attempt to break the man. After Robin Van Persie issues the boffin a spanking, the Professor shows his mettle by taking it on the chin. Admirable stuff.

While we’d have gladly devoted this entire episode to such gloating, we do manage to squeeze in the regulars, whilst Jonty turns up with more community gold: the tale of a globe trotting Fantasy manager who takes his advice off Frankfurt clubbers and QPR fans, whilst trying to figure out the Russian phrase for “please, wireless, I’m desperate – I have Djibril Cisse up front!”.

    aaargh. Just back from pub quiz final (1,000 euro). Made it through 4 rounds to get to final.
    Finished 4th out of 12 teams. 🙁 They really cranked up the difficulty levels.
    I'm still fuming about possible cheating and overall "clique" stuff goings on.

    So, when defending a lead in a mini-league at this stage of the season, what is the best strategy...

    a) Keep hits to a minimum and make only a few shrewd moves when needed
    b) Take hits for DGW to maximise points at an attempt to increase your lead
    c) Get those big balls out and make loads of transfers, sod the hits, and win in style?

    For all ye Indie heads check out KEXP. I'd consider 95% of the music on the sessions here to be self-indulgent pretentious muck. But the other 5% ranges from very good to class. And Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir is in there too. Not too sure about her music yet but she's easy on the eye 😉

      I'm having a nightmare. It started GW1 and I'm flapping around in a world of misery ever since. The worst thing is that because I had one good season that I now consider myself a " one hit wonder ".

      This, above all other things, scares me greatly.

        Don't thin he's getting this one, I'm not too good at predicting the defense anyway. But I just think JT and Cahill will get time in the next leg against Basel, with Ivan/Azpi at RB and Bertrand at LB.

      I've got it on him at the moment too. But the reason not to be happy about it is 1) How many minutes will he play? 2) He's going up against the mighty Demel.
