Not often acclaimed for his sage-like wisdom, Granville is enjoying his season in the sun and is firing advice, sympathy and jibes my way, in equal measure. With little to lose, I’ve even resorted to taking his guidance on board. After spending points on transfers on the Mancunian’s recommendation, I’m looking on my squad with optimistic eyes, although Granville is far from convinced that I made the “greatest hits”.

After raining on my revival parade, Granville joins me to talk Suarez, Oscar vs Hazard and Jim Bowen before we roll out the podcast regulars – “All Aboard”, the weekend preview and the usual dalliance with the ScoutCast team.

    So ive got a bit of predicament hoping someone could help me out please or give me some advice.

    By GW 14 I will want to have done:
    1. Silva to Walcott
    2. Toure to Chester
    3. Lukaku to Sturridge (This transfer will be done in GW14, not before)

    I have already used my free this week (Paulinho to Ramsey) and therefore will need to take a hit if all goes according to plan.

    Now here is the predicament: Should I do Silva to Walcott this week for a hit? Many people would be quick to shut this down so I provided background info to put it into context.

    The Pro:
    Without Walcott I need Januzaj to play in order for me to field 11. Walcott will assure that I can field 11 and probably is an upgrade to Januzaj.

    The Con:
    Toure may end up regaining his place and I wont want Sturridge for GW14 (Triple liverpool already) and therefore I could I just made the Walcott transfer next week for free and my whole plan would never happen.

    Should I make the transfer?

        I heard something about HBA really wanting to play and if he does he could do well against Norwich. If the transfers don't work it doesn't matter too much as I'm not taking this season that seriously any more after my bad start.

      If you're set on getting Walcott in you could do it this week. Maybe Hazard in the around 9mil range next week. Or upgrade Lukaku to Aguero.

      I'm set on Walcott but only have 8.8m this week to trade Michu out so it has to wait. Gives me chance it see how he comes back this week I guess.

      I doubled up on Chelsea last GW, haven't had many CS's as of yet but with so many Chelsea midfield options I wanted to dodge that bullet. Both Ivanovic and Terry are maybe ranked #1 & #2 for defender shots in the box so I'm hoping for a big haul over the next 5 GWs. They are playing some poor attacking teams so fingers crossed for a 15 pt haul sooner or later (CS + Goal + 3 BPs)! Slightly worried about Ivan losing his spot but I'll deal with that if something happens.

          There are a few reasons.
          I prefer players at home.
          Ravel plays Oop sometimes.
          Chelsea haven't kept a CS in a long time (gw4) and if WHU scores, Ravel has a higher probability to be involved whereas if United score 3, then Januzaj is not guaranteed anything necessarily.

      Not having a go but why do you bother stating 6.7? its as if you are deliberately looking for a big hitting defender in the 6m+ price range. I wouldn't rule out options around 5m or less. Mertisacker and Ridgewell would have to be up there I reckon.

        because i'm looking for a toure replacement and have 1.7 in the bank so 6.7 is the most expensive defender I could afford. said or less though as i'm willing to consider sub 6m defenders.

        so who do you think the best defender for 6.7 OR LESS is?

        Well there are only 2 defenders above that price bracket but it's still just as long to type than 'Best defender not Baines or Vert'
