Mondogoal Arrives At Fantasy Football Scout

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’re teaming up with Mondogoal, a new daily and weekly Fantasy Football game, for the 2014/15 season.

Mondogoal arrives as a new player on the scene, backed by two of the Premier League’s elite – Man City and Liverpool – and delivers a new experience, allowing Fantasy Managers to compete for free or for cash prizes across a range of games in any given Gameweek.

The game not only covers the Premier League; Mondogoal support both the Champions League and Europa League and run contests for all the major top flight leagues – Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Major League Soccer (MLS).

Getting involved is simple – you register an account, find a contest to join and then go about selecting your starting XI.

The basic principles will be familiar, although Mondogoal has its own scoring system which introduces new factors into play when considering your lineup. Points are awarded for completed passes, defenders benefit from interceptions gathered, while the propensity to draw and commit fouls is also key.

Each week we’ll be presenting you with our assessment of the top targets on offer ahead of each set of Premier League fixtures. Throughout the season, Mondogoal will be hosting Fantasy Football Scout contests with prize pots on offer for our visitors.

A full strategy guide, discussing the finer points of the Mondogoal scoring system and assessing how this will shape our tactics, will be published later this week.

For now, check out Mondogoal’s introduction movie below and scan their site for more details.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    He's handsome...He's stylish....He's DANGEROUS....

Looking back at last season, one of the main reasons for Hazard’s dip in form was how defences began to adapt the way they played him. At times he was effectively squaring off against four players. And mostly, teams would simply drop one of their defensive midfielders into Hazard’s cut-back lane.

    What's different this season?

    1) A natural overlapping LB

Haz hasn't had the luxury of playing with Cole at his peak and Azpi was clearly a defensive choice last season. Even if Dave did overlap, his natural tendency to cut back onto his right foot, the same as Hazard. Dave created a meagre three chances from the wide advanced channel. In comparison, Filipe Luis created 14 last season. In the second it takes to cut the ball back onto your favoured foot or look for a pass, PL defences will have reorganised. These tiny delays can kill momentum. But now, Hazard is good enough to continually find Luis and the Brazilian is good enough to capitalise. And teams will beware of this.

    2) The Fabmatic show

Combining Matić with Fàbregas is where things get interesting for Chelsea. Fàbregas is every inch a PL footballer, despite his Catalan roots and he understands the tempo of the game here. In terms of Hazaar this combo should act as a catalyst. Last season, the midfield was treated with little respect. Some sides chose not to press, knowing that they were not technical or incisive enough in possession to hurt teams who stand off. That now changes.

    3) Penalties

Lamps has moved on. So that leaves Haz as the only established penalty taker, although Jose kind of inferred Eden was his primary penalty taker towards the end of the season.

Honestly I think this could be Hazaar's breakout season. It's alright to own Cesc but not at the expense of Hazaar, imo.

Costa should also boost his potential. Finally some quality up-front to convert and latch on to his superb through balls and crosses.

I think Hazard will be better over the course of the season but Fab will be a better pic to start with. I just can't see Hazard lighting it up from the start, just my personal opinion though.

I'd add Costa to the mix. Last season Hazard missed out on a faor few assists due to lack of a decent striker to feed of his passing and dribbling. The addition of Costa could see his assist output increase

      I've got Hazard

am looking at one of Costa or Fab to go with him but it's not decided

Costa's a funny one. While he's going to help boost Hazard's tally, it could cut down Hazard's goals. Especially the way Jose plays - where he wants to protect the lead.

    Mariappa vs Ward?

Surely Palace will sign a natural LB and shift Ward to RB?

Cheaper and with doubt vs Nailed on but more expensive

If your budget allows, Ward every time

Ward all day every day. Iron man in terms of minutes, plus he offers more going forward.

New and Sun rotate home and away but do not rotate well.

      Note the difference.

Defo ferd / ward if you hae to choose.

Forster and Green, I'm amazed no one has considered this (I think Saints will buy a CB, and you'll be playing Green GW1 anyway)

Green is a terrible goalkeeper though in terms of save points. Had one of the worst records around when he was last in the premier league. A goalkeeper in a poor team can be a good thing, as long as that goalkeeper is good. Schwarzer, David James are good examples of good goalkeepers in bad teams. A bad goalkeeper in a bad team is not a good combo though.

Foster's good though...but I'd look elsewhere for his rotation soul mate if I were you.
