Scout Picks Community Champion Vote – Gameweek 14

As part of our revamped Scout Picks, Mark, myself, Paul and a community champion picked by you each week are up against each other. All four teams are then used to decide our final weekly Scout Picks.

We are now looking for Gameweek 14’s Scout Picks Community Champion to represent you and get one over on The Scouts as well as be in with a chance of winning a special prize. The champion who manages the best Gameweek score (or best score from the first ten matches in a double Gameweek) will win a £100 Amazon voucher.

To put yourself forward simply add in your Gameweek 14 Scout Picks and 200 word or bullet point explanation for your picks in the comment section below. For everyone else please upvote the poster you would like to represent you based on their picks.

We only need 11 picks and please be mindful of budget. We are sticking to a budget of 83.5m. There’s no captain in the picks either and please stick to a designated FPL formation, including no more than three players from one team.

I’ll leave this vote for 24 hours and come back at 10am tomorrow (Tuesday) to find out who is the community’s choice. Please note that due to the fast turnaround of Gameweeks the winning submissions will be forwarded straight over to Paul for the Scout Picks article on Tuesday morning so it is vitally important that you include your reasons for your picks.

If you need to make any minor tweaks based on injuries on Tuesday please email me at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Any attempts to disrupt the voting process may lead to the team involved being removed at our discretion. Also the comment section below is for those who want to present their teams and vote. If you have any suggestions on how the Scout Picks can be improved further next year please email me rather than leave a comment below

After getting so close last week, I would love the chance to represent the community midweek.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -------------------------------- Elliot--------------------------------
    ------------------------ Baines Collins Smalling ------------------------
    ------------------ Jedinak Sterling Hazard Siggurdson------------------
    ------------------------- Aguero Rooney Bony --------------------------
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    TV: 83.4

GK: Cheap, nailed on and against a Burnley side who although have started scoring a few goals, may struggle against a Newcastle side that has conceded just once in 4 games.

DEF: Baines is a cert here, great fixture and looked lively against Spurs. West Brom have failed to score in the last three, and I fancy Collins to get a cleanie in this game- lack of funds meant I couldn't plump for Cresswell. Smalling is seemingly impervious to Van Gaals defensive rotation, and I'm backing the Red Devils to keep Stoke out at Old Trafford.

MID: Jedinak is raking in the points at the moment and crystal palace are in great goal scoring form. Despite 2 consecutive blanks, Sterling was very unlucky not to get anything out of the stoke game and I reckon he could get a big haul against a poor leicester side. Hazard is playing brilliantly, and with Costa out, the responsibility is on him to unlock the spurs defence and I fancy him to carry on his excellent home form. Siggurdson is proving to be a reliable asset this year, and QPR have shipped 7 goals in the last 3 matches.

FWD: Aguero is, in my mind, the best player in the league, and despite a solid Sunderland defensive performance, I can't see him not getting on the scoresheet against them. Rooney is playing well, and although there are fears of a more withdrawn role against Stoke, he is still more than capable of hitting double digits this week. The man with the most goals of 2014, and with penalties in his locker, Bony looks a standout option this week and I expect him to terrorise the QPR defence tomorrow.

    Foster
    Azpilicueta Naylor Baines
    Mirallas Siggy Toure Hazard
    Aguero Bony Ings

    Reasons -

Foster - West Brom have a good fixture against a West ham side without Sakho and Enner Valencia probably and they need a result this week. I fully expect Foster to keep the cleansheet

Azpi - Chelsea have found defence stability and I expect them to continue their recent run of cleansheets against Spurs side, Chelsea are always tight at back in big games.

Neil Taylor - Swansea have kept 5 Cleansheets this season, They are up against QPR tomorrow with Austin in form But I expect Swansea to return to winning ways and keep cleansheet.

Leighton Baines - Fantasy Football Fav, one of my most fav player as well. Hull are in Shambles and Baines has assisted or scored in 7 of his last 10 PL apps, I also think they are due a CS having conceded in last 3 games.

Kevin Mirallas - One of my 2 punts in this XI, as I said Hull are in very bad situation and I expect Kevin Mirallas to hurt them. Hull are ranked 20th in shots conceded and Kevin is one of those players who takes a lot of shots.

Gylfi Sigurdsson - Don't think he needs any explanation.

Yaya Toure - I will be honest here, I hate him but he is unbelievable and thriving yet again because of lack of attacking options behind aguero. I fully expect him to deliver yet again and Pellegrini playing 4-5-1 this time out.

Eden Hazard - Potential Captain Material IMO, has scored in all home games but 2.
2 out of his 4 goals came against London sides.

Aguero - Again don't think he needs any explanation

Bony - Top scorer in 2014, playing against QPR team which simply cannot keep cleansheets.

Danny Ings - Another Punt, Newcastle are struggling with Injuries and suspensions this week and Ings is in good form.

Once more into the breach my friends!

    DDG
Clichy / Kolo Toure / Tomkins
Sterling / Yaya Toure / Siggy / Mirallas
    Austin / Rooney / Aguero

With Kolarov out and Lovren out of form I don't think there's any chance of my first two defenders being rotated. Tomkins has been added as Doosra advised me to buy him for my FPL Team and I'll be taking his advice!

In midfield, the Leicester defence being ran ragged by my R's on Saturday suggests they are the tonic for what has been ailing young Sterling. Yaya, Siggy & Mirallas pick themselves with form and fixtures.

Up front we all know that Rooney heals like a dog so I expect him to line up on Tuesday and cause major damage to a Stoke running short of midfielders. Austin and Aguero offer form and fixtures. Let's face it, on a bad day for Aguero yesterday he still popped up with 7 points so every reason to expect a better showing against Sunderland.

Here's my first shot at this!

Heaton - Without influential midfielder Sissoko and Cisse still coming back from injury I can see Burnley picking up a clean sheet here and Heaton is a good route in to their defence with save points to fall back on in the event of no cleanie.

Baines - First name on the team sheet with great clean sheet and attacking potential
Smalling - With Rojo back I can see Utd keeping a second consecutive clean sheet against a faltering stoke, Smalling offering some attacking threat at set pieces for 5.3 seems good value.
Clichy - I think the current champions will keep it tight and see off any goal threat from a goal shy Sunderland whilst Clichy offers threat going forward with a goal and assist in the last 4
Chambers - I think with Koscielny back arsenal will be good for a clean sheet against a Southampton side who are struggling for goals at the moment. Chambers offers threat going forward at a good price.

Hazard - My Chelsea player of choice is hazard with sublime home form, he should step up in the absence of Costa
Siggy - I am heavily backing Swansea attack against QPR with the most away goals conceded in the league. Siggy is central to all they do going forward.
Mirallas - Back from injury and back in the goals, my weapon of choice for an Everton side likely to put a couple or more past an abject Hull

    Aguero - Do I need a reason!? 🙂
Rooney - I think Utd will score a few past Stoke and Mr Rooney will most likely be involved in them especially with Di Maria out.
Bony - As said above Swansea look good for goals this week and all those passes from Siggy will be teeing up this man with the most goals in the PL this calendar year.

Hope you like it all! Thanks for reading

    Elliot

    Baines - Smalling - Bartley

    Sanchez - Mirallas - Siggy - Downing

    Aguero - Rooney - Bony

    £83.2m

Elliot: Burnley have scored only 9 goals in 13 games this season.

Baines: Playing against Hull City, who have lost their last 4 games. Hull have scored only 6 goals in 7 away games.

Smalling: Surprisingly only 5 goals conceded in 7 home games and on good form, there is a good possibility for another cleansheet for Man Utd.

Bartley: QPR have scored only 2 goals in 6 away games this season.

Sanchez: 8 goals in the league this season, if Arsenal score, he is very likely to be involved.

Mirallas: He is gaining some form, goal and assist against Wolfsburg in the Europa League and goal against Tottenham. Subbed of at hour mark in the game against Spurs, so should be ready to face out of form Hull City.

Siggy: QPR haven't kept cleansheet in any of their 6 away games, conceding 15 goals in those games. Gylfi also having great home form.

Downing: West Ham favourites to win this. West Brom have lost their last 2 at home, and have only kept 1 cleansheet at home conceding 11 in the process, compared to 3 cleansheets and 7 goals conceded away.

Aguero: Top scorer in the league, in good form and Manchester City will be confident after good performance against Southampton.

Rooney: Manchester United in good form, so is Rooney. He also has good record against Stoke.

Bony: In great form. QPR have lost all of their 6 away games while conceding 15 goals.

    Baines , Smalling , Creswell

Mirallas , Sanchez, Siggy , Hazard

    Bony , Rooney , Lambert

Mirallas is in because I think he has the potential to get double digit scores and he scored vs Spurs , Lambert is guaranteed to start vs Leicester I was short on funds and he is starting to show some form . scored in the champions league and he got an assist last week .

    Adrian(wba)
    Smalling(STK) Baines(HUL) Clichy(sun)
    Mirallas(HUL) Hazard(TOT) Sanchez(SOT) Sigurdsson(QPR)
    Bony(QPR) Ings(NEW) Falcao(STK)

Adrian in goals this week. West ham have come up with a respectable 2 clean sheets in the last 4, and seemed to have found some defensive solidity recently. With West brom stuttering in front of goal in the last few weeks, Adrian looks primed for a clean sheet in GW 14 despite the away game.

Smalling and Clichy both come off from games where they've found the net. Smalling coming very close to scoring twice. Both men will be high on confidence and will definitely be looking to net again - especially Smalling as a target from corners. They both have very good fixtures to boost their clean sheet potential - at home to Stoke and away to Sunderland. Both teams not really known for their attacking prowess.

Not much of an explanation needed for Lord Leighton Baines, the 2nd highest scoring defender(by 1 point, Baines has played a lot less minutes) is one of the "essentials" atm, and is a defender with an incredibly high point ceiling - on penalties, free kicks, corners and Everton's chief creator. AT home to Hull who have scored once in their last 5 games. A perfect fixture for a clean sheet and some attacking points.

Mirallas and Sigurdsson both come off nice returns in GW12, and have excellent fixtures to produce the goods once more. At home to Hull and QPR - both very leaky sides.

Sanchez and Hazard are the two big midfield hitters, not exactly the easiest of fixtures for either but both are definitely "scorable" in, and it's hard to ignore the form they've both in.

Bony has been in excellent form of late. The Ivorian has netted 6 times in the last 7 games, and has an excellent fixture this week(home to an astonishingly leaky QPR defence) to repay his FPL owners' faith.

Ings is another man in fine form, the forward has seemed to have gone unnoticed by the FFS and FPL community in general but the Englishman has scored 4 goals in the last 5 games and is also on penalties for Burnley. The Claret forward seems to have finally found his stride in the premier league after finsihing top goal scorer in the championship last season and looks a top option for this week's clash against NEwcastle at home.

Falcao is the last player in the line up , and my man united attacking pick for their game against Stoke. I have opted for the Colombian over in-form Rooney after taking a look at his stats. The former Atletico Madrid forward had 2 BIG CHANCES in the small sub appearance(24 minutes) he had against Stoke, this compares very nicely to Rooney and RVP's "0". Falcao also managed as many Shots in the box as RVP, and one more than Rooney and all this is despite the decreased minutes. His prospects look very promising as he looks set for a start against Stoke at Old Trafford.

Hope you like the team and if you do, please vote. 🙂

    Cheers

    Heaton
    Baines Ivanovic Naylor
    Mirallas Siggy Sanchez Hazard
    Rooney Ings Bony

    TV 83.5 M

DEF - Heaton has a good home fixture against Goal shy Newc and Burnley have been relatively solid at home, whereas Baines coming back to fitness picks himself at home to Hull. Chelsea's resilience at the Bridge and Ivanovic attacking threat makes him a good pick. Naylor is at home to QPR who don't travel too well.

MID - Mirallas is in form, he notched on the weekend after a goal and assist in the Europa League and was hauled off at 60 mins and should start against a struggling Hull side. Siggy picks himself, he's involved in most of his sides goals scored at the Liberty. I fancy Sanchez to do well against a recently struggling Soton side. Hazard has returned in each of his last 3 home games and his stats have vastly improved and also has pens.

FWD - Rooney is on one of his patches and picks himself at home to Stoke. Ings is also in a great run of form and Im backing him to get the points against a injury hit Newc side. Bony is on song and looks the main man to score goals for Swansea.

Have not picked Aguero since I would have to sacrifice on the quality of the rest of my team and would not get all my desired picks, coupled with the fact that Sunderland are City's bogey team its not impossible that Aguero would blank.

Thanks for your time. Please do vote if you like my picks. Would love to represent the community! 🙂

I would love to represent the community. My picks are as follows, with commentary as a comment below.

    Elliot (4.0)
    Hutton (4.2) Coleman (6.9) Smalling (5.3)
    Mata (8.4) Siggy (6.9) Hazard (10.2) Downing (6.0)
    Rooney (10.4) Aguero (12.8) Bony (8.4)

    Total 83.5

I have gone for Elliot, who provides a budget option in place of injured Krul, for a fixture against Burnley who have tended to be goal shy this season. Hutton is the best budget option in defence to ensure the team is under the 83.5 allowance, providing a nailed on option with a decent fixture. I have gone Coleman over Baines as a slight differential, and also the fact that Coleman fired 2 shots and registered 4 touches in the box against Spurs last week, superior to Baines. Smalling on the back of a 15 point haul has another prime fixture.

Hazard’s last 3 home fixtures have resulted in double digit scores and Spurs’s poor record at the bridge only backs this up. Siggy and Bony, demonstrating their partnership against palace, welcome QPR who have conceded an average of 2.5 goals per away game. Mata should be more advanced in the absence of ADM and Downing scores on the road justify his inclusion.

Rooney and Aguero look the prime candidates for big scores this weekend. Aguero top scorer in the game has not gone three games in the league without a goal this season. Rooney looks to be in one of his fine streaks of form and faces a stoke team in poor form.

    Adrian
    Cresswell Baines Rangel
    Montero Barkley Yaya Downing
    Rooney Aguero Bony

    83.4m

    ---

    A few comments:
WBA have the least amount of goal attempts in the past 4 GWs so fancy a Hammers clean sheet and also Cresswell to do good again.
    Baines because Baines.
QPR are weak on their left flank, Rangel could easily pop up with an assist (although I'm not sure of a CS due to Austin and QPR having the fourth most goal attempts for the past 4 GWs).

Montero beats Gylfi on touches in the box (where QPR have conceded the most for the past 4 GWs), and he's also cheaper.
Barkley looked quick yesterday, could do well against Hull.
Sunderland has the second most conceded ahots outside the box. Yaya is in form and could easily score a few.
Downing loves playing away. Also facing a weak WBA.

Rooney could be injured, but I think he'll play, can easily score against Stoke.
    Aguero obviously.
Bony. Gets alot in the box, same reasoning as above.

    GK: Pantilmon

I may be crazy, but he got 10 points this week, I expect Sunderland to park the bus again, he's against his former club and I'm backing him for saves. Sunderland keepers have a unique ability to hit double figures more often than anyone else.

    DF: Baines, Coleman, Chambers

I see goals in a lot of games this week, so the Everton double up looks ideal. They are both so dangerous, and could easily hit double figures. Koscielny being back tightens Arsenal up hugely, and Chambers remains the value option with potential at both ends against a Soton side that could suffer without Schneiderlin.

    MF: Hazard, Sigurdsson, Downing, Cazorla

Hazard's home form is fantastic and this is the sort of game Chelsea can win big. Siggy is the budget Fabregas, hugely consistent, while Downing's away form is fantastic and West Brom's defence woeful. Cazorla is a punt, but with doubts over where Sanchez will play, and Caz's ability to exploit the space left by Schneiderlin's injury, I'm backing him to continue his form.

    FW: Van Persie, Aguero, Austin

RVP has a superb record against Stoke. Even with Panty in goal, I can't overlook Aguero. And while everyone will plump for Bony, Swans aren't that tight at the back, QPR are sharpening up and Austin is both great value and the man in dangerous form.

With my actual bench of McCarthy, Wilson, S. Taylor and Boyd, this leaves precisely 0.0 in the bank 😀

    Doosra’s Scout Challenge XI(GW 14)

    Speroni(AVL)4.9
    Naylor(QPR)4.8, Baines(HUL)7.2, Chambers(SOT)4.7
    Cazorla(SOT)8.1, Touré(sun)10.6, Hazard(TOT)10.1, Sigurdsson(QPR)6.8
    Rooney(STO)10.4, Lukaku(HUL)9.0, Ings(NEW)5.7 … 82.3

Crystal Palace have tightened up again: http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/2283/, and I fancy a clean sheet against faltering Villa, giving Speroni the nod.

A tidy defence, with some chance of attacking returns, and of course, Baines!

A great midfield, selected courtesy of my Marauders table: http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/1373/ with 4 of the top 5 this week!

A razor-sharp and in-form strike force, with Rooney and Ings on penalties, and Lukaku steadily coming into form: http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/939/

    Please vote! 🙂

    Hey Guys,

    GK: ADRIAN (5.0)

    DEF: BAINES (7.3) - SMALLING (5.3) - CAHILL (6.4)

    MID: SANCHEZ (11.0) - SIGGY (6.9) - HAZARD (10.2) - OSCAR (8.5)

    FWD: BONY (8.4) - LUKAKU (9.0) - FLETCHER (5.3)

The return of both Kouyate and Reid to an already solid
defensive line will give Adrian my odds-on to collect a second consecutive
clean sheet for the high-spirited Hammers away to a battered West Brom.

Baines is the obvious selection when it comes to defensive attacking
returns, a lock in my eyes. Cahill's 6.25pt average in the last four will
likely see a clean sheet at home, a cheaper way into the Chelsea defense
and going on form a more likely candidate of provide goal threat. Smalling
has been selected for his clean sheet potential here, his haul on the weekend
will be a gift if replicated.

Sanchez is the most appropriate Arsenal coverage this season and coming up
against a ego-battered Southampton I predict a haul in front of his new home's crowd.
Siggurdson is self explanatory. Hazard and Oscar will work their way through a
leaky Spurs defense, having not kept a clean sheet since GW 7. These two will
be primed to step up in placed of Costa, and I can't choose just one.

Bony and Lukaku are on par here with goal/assist potential, gifted with
the simplest of fixtures, they are both expected to fire. Fletcher is my super-differential and a very diminished City defense could see a a free scoring game for both front lines. Lets just hope it's not
    Aguero!

    Courtois (TOT) £6m

Baines (HUL) £7.3m Coleman (HUL) £6.9m Smalling (STO) £5.3m

Hazard (TOT) £10.2m Fabregas (TOT) £9.7m Sigurdsson (QPR) £6.9m Downing (WBA) £6.0m

Bony (QPR) £8.4m Ings (NEW) £5.7m Rooney (STO) £10.4m

I fancy Chelsea to keep a clean sheet on home soil against Spurs, so Courtois gets the nod in goal. I've decided to double up on the Everton full-backs at home to Hull, big attacking returns expected with clean-sheet potential. Smalling is the cheapest way in to a United back line that looks more solid with every game.

Sigurdsson can load the bullets again for Bony as he did on Saturday against winless travellers QPR and with Costa suspended I'm doubling up on Chelsea midfielders. Hazard is mercurial at home and Fabregas brings consistant returns. WBA have hit a brick wall and Downing can get the returns he's due with Valencia and Sakho back to get on the end of his crosses.

Rooney looks set to hit a blistering run of form, so i'm backing him against a Stoke side currently low on confidence, while Danny Ings looks a constant threat and can notch against injury/suspension riddled Newcastle.

    £82.8m

    G Johnson, Cresswell, smalling, clichy
    Siggy, hazard
    Austin, Rooney, lukaku

Pants as he was highest scoring keeper last game week
Defence all in great recent form, picked four as I can't separate them.
Siggy and hazard have two of best home records in competition.
Austin, Rooney are both on goals scoring run
Lukaku has been slowly racking up the points.

    Here we go again

    Elliot(BUR)

    Naylor(QPR) Baines(HUL) Jagielka(HUL)

    Siggy(QPR) Hazard(TOT) Sterling(LEI) Jedinak(AVL)

    Bony(QPR) Kun(SUN) Lukaku(HUL)

    Here is a brief explanation:

    - Elliot: Cheap. Newcastle are solid enough to keep out a goal shy Burnley even if in form the last 3 games.

    - Baines and Jags: Can't see Hull scoring atm. Great CS potential for both. Jags is a BAPs magnet and Baines is...Baines.

    - Naylor,Siggy,Bony explain themselves. QPR are terrible away from home so there is a good chance for a Naylor CS. He also gets the odd assist. QPR have the worst record in the league for goals conceded away so Siggy (consistent at home) and Bony (in form and on penalties) are a no brainer.

    - Hazard: Double figures in each of his last 3 home games. On penalties. Derby match promises goals (4-0 Chelsea last year). Chelsea looking to bounce back after dropping 2 points at Sunderland.

    - Sterling: Up against one of the worst defenses in the league and the worst form team in the league. He is central to anything Liverpool do. Liverpool will also be looking to build on the Stoke victory.

Jedinak: On penalties. Palace are in form and scoring goals and will look to build on their big home victory against Liverpool. Villa on the other hand have not won in the last 5 away games
conceding 8 goals in the process.

Lukaku: Up against Hull which is team without a win in 6 matches conceding 9 goals in the process and lost the last 4 matches. The 2nd worst form team in the league.

Kun: City back to the form of champions after Soton and Bayern victories and Kun central to everything they do. Plus I can't see that losing streak at the stadium of light extending any further. City will score and win and Kun will be involved.

I opted against Rooney because I'm not sure he will even be fit to play. Also Falcao is back which means Rooney will player deeper especially with ADM out. I expect him to play ADM's free role in the center of the pitch. I also opted against Sanchez because I don't believe Soton will be in free fall after their City loss. They will look to bounce back and they are generally solid at the back. Arsenal are not City. Also Giroud's return makes Sanchez play on the flank which diminishes his role.

    Elliot

    Baines Cresswell Azpilicueta

    Yaya Tourè Hazard Sigurdsson Jedinak

    Rooney Bony Lukaku

    83.4

    * Elliot: Even if he plays Burnley with an in-form Ings, Elliot is the cheapest starter option for this GW and Newcastle has lost only one CS in the last four games, against West Ham(a much much better team than Burnley), conceding no more than one goal.

    * Baines: He didn't deliver anything against Spurs but he's still the best defender in the FPL. Even if he loses another CS a game against Hull seems like the perfect occasion for him to deliver some attacking returns.

    * Azpilicueta: He's the cheapest entry in Chelsea's defense and he's a little bonus magnet too. A mid-week game against Spurs might be tougher than most expect but usually the Blues' defense performs better against the big teams.

    * Cresswell: Pricier than Adrian but he's definitely the best entry in West Ham's defense. While Adrian delivered only 21 points in the last six games, Cresswell delivered a surprising 38 points with two assists, one goal, two clean sheets and 8 BPS; defensive returns AND attacking returns too.

    * Yaya Tourè: Maybe they finally got him his birthday cake, i don't know, but in the last three games Yaya has remembered us how great of a player he is, delivering two goals, one assist, 5BPS and collecting 25 points. Granted, at 10.6M he's a big investment but with Silva out he's clearly going forward much more and with a very kind run of fixtures some people are considering the idea of a double up on City's attacking players.

    * Hazard: With Costa suspended Hazard could explode once again even in a tougher game. Usually, Eden is a "on and off", delivering points one game yes one game no and the fact that he hasn't gotten any points against Sunderland despite looking quite alive in the first part of the game it's kind of hopeful.

    * Sigurdsson: With one goal, one assist and 4 BPS in the last three games, Sigurdsson seems back on the right path. QPR might be a little more dangerous in attack, mostly thanks to Charlie Austin, but their defense is still absolutely messy and leaky; a fantastic occasion for Sigurdsson and Bony.

    * Jedinak: Jedinak is officially the discount version of Steven Gerrard. Five goals and one assist so far this season, mostly from set-pieces/penalties, priced at 5.2M with a 6.6% ownership, the Crystal Palace player could be the perfect fifth midfielder until january.

    * Bony: Six goals and 43 points in the last seven games, even one goal against City, the ivorian is seriously in good form and a kind run of fixtures could see him delivering even more. Despite his form, though, the forward has a low ownership of 7.8% and priced at 8.4M he could very well offer an escape route for Costa for those looking to break the template a little bit.

    * Rooney: After scoring with England he delivered two consecutive goals against Arsenal and Hull, delivering 17 points in the last two games. With Di Maria injured at least for the next game(and maybe even longer than that), Falcao being too fragile and RVP being way too pricey, Rooney is currently the first and best attacking option for United.

    * Lukaku: The belgian is always a gamble and he's kind of a discount version of Costa with much less consistency but a game against Hull brings optimism since their defense conceded 7 goals in the last four games, five only in the last two against better teams such as Spurs and United. With a 9.3% i think Romelu is definitely worth a punt for this GW.

    (STO)

    Coleman/ Terry/ Baines
    (HUL) (TOT) (HUL)

    Mirallas/ Toure/ Sigurdsson/ Sanchez
    (HUL) (sun) (QPR) (SOU)

    Bony/ Drogba/ Lambert
    (QPR) (TOT) (lei)

    TV: 83.2

After conceding just once in their last three games, United's defence looks to be tightening. I cannot see the Smalling bandwagon bearing fruit again against Stoke's giants and I expect a quiet night for de Gea.
Baines and Coleman are ripe for rewards at both ends against a poor Hull side whose 3-5-2 formation may play right into the hands of the Everton's fullbacks. Terry is due a goal in Premier League and is known for getting big goals in the big games.
Mirallas's superb strike against Spurs earns him a place in my midfield and with the added bonus of free-kicks and corners in his locker, he could be set for his first double-figure haul. Toure and Sanchez also have free-kicks on their side (Sanchez scored a beauty against Saints in the cup) and make my team. Toure, unlike Oscar, has the power to dominate Lee Cattermole and overturn the jinx Sunderland hold over City. Hovering in a similar hole against a recently reality-checked Saints, I expect Alexis to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee on the way to one-sided Arsenal win. Sigurdsson completes my midfield quartet of free-kick maestros and the hold-up play of Bony coupled with Barton, Sandro and Henry's penchant for nibbling ankles, he may again be primed for more dead-ball opportunities.
Sunderland’s tendency to sit deep may negate Aguero’s output, while di Maria’s injury may push Rooney back into midfield. These, along with Costa’s suspension, are reason enough to look slightly left-field in the striker department this week (plus it helps afford Baines, Coleman, Toure and Sanchez). Lambert should continue to lead the line for a back-to-basics Liverpool side looking to kick-start their season with a refreshed Steven Gerrard at the helm. Costa’s absence should see Didier Drogba deputise to good effect against an error-prone pairing of Vertonghen and Fazio and The Big Bad Wilf completes my team, with his form and fixture impossible to ignore as the league’s leakiest defence roll into town.

    Fabianski

    Baines - Coleman - Chambers

    Cazorla - Mirallas - Sigurdsson - Jedinak

    Aguero - Rooney - Bony

Believe Hull are one of the worst teams in the league right now. marginally better than Leicester, hence the Baines and Coleman double, who are primed for a haul.

Chambers represents massive value with a home fixture and a strong back four with their key defender now back, Koscielny.

Personally love Cazorla as a player. Definitely someone to jump ship on when he's hit a bit of form (three assists in last two games) as we've all seen in the past.

Mirallas is another eye-catcher. Has produced strong performances in the three games he's had since his injury, which has translated into two goals and an assist on the field. Now finds himself with an absolute plum of a fixture this week. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/roberto-martinez-says-unique-kevin-8196654

Sigurdsson, an ever present in so many of our teams this year, impressive record at home with a lovely fixture. What's more to be said?

Jedinak with a strong fixture and a large presence in this Palace side. could easily find himself in the points again this week, offering up great value.

Aguero, he's not a bad player.

Rooney is United's best outfield performer right now, and someone who when on form, proves very hard to ignore. Will be shocked if he doesn't chip in with a goal, assist or two this week with the fixture.

Bony, the top scorer of 2014 calendar year, currently sitting on 18 Premier League goals.A record that puts him ahead of Aguero, Rooney, Sturridge... With two goals in his last two, I fully expect him to improve his record v QPR, who have picked up 0 points on the road and have achieved a gd of -13 alongside it.

Scout Picks GW 14 - by me

    Howard (5.3)
    Smalling (5.3), Baines (7.3), Terry (6.3)
    Sterling (8.4), Fer (5.5), Siggy (6.9), Cazorla (8.1), Oscar (8.5)
    RvP (12.4) , Bony (8.4)

Howard - Playing against Hull with 1 goal in the last 5, failed to score in last 4.

    DEF
Smalling - Nailed on, trying to make up for his red card. ManU in great form and want to be contenders for the title. Stoke team struggling for goals.

Terry - I don't see many teams scoring on Chelsea, especially the Spurs.

Baines - see Howard, plus great attacking threat and free kicks.

Sterling - he was the key to the attack vs Stoke, should get an assists goals versus a Leicester side. Liverpool improving.

Fer - QPR in Great form with 5 goals in last two games. Fer is a key player in the midfield.

Siggy - QPR defence struggling, there more of an attacking team Siggy good for goals and assits.

Cazorla - lots of injuries in Arsenal mid field, they are at home, cazorla in good form

Oscar - against a medicore spurs team with a need to win after draw v. sunderland

RVP - at home vs Stoke side that had problems with Liverpool in the 2nd half. RvP has scored 10 goals in 9 Premier League Games vs Stoke - and (4) of those were with United (every game ManU played v. Stoke her scored)

Bony - 6 goals in the last 7 against a struggling QPR defence.

    Defence:
With Burnley picking up lately and facing a depleted Newcastle at home, Tom Heaton has a great chance of a fourth shutout of the season at Turf Moor.
