I think I'm going to take a punt on Elia for my WC

Any Saints fans around? Who is his competition?
Mane seems to be out for a few more weeks, decent fixtures the next few.

      Saints fan here.
I think if you want to punt - why not. But you have to know that he hasn't a great goalscoring record (which I hope will change with Koemans Southampton). Mane will be back and they will be in competition.

      Best of luck

For the time he will be playing first team (4-6wks) I think excellent punt... He's in my WC team

What are the general thoughts on Bellerin becoming a fixture in the starting XI?

      I'd probably go Ospina
      The Bellerin/Chambers thing is frustrating

Ospina/Szczesny is not a resolved issue, either.

Worth a punt IMO if you have a decent back-ups in case of rotation.

I could have a backline of Azpi - Jones - Moreno - Bellerin (Wasi). Theoretically tempting!

    Forsten Given
    Terry Bertrand PVA Wisdom Cresswell*
    Hazard Sanchez Boyd Silva* ADM*
    Aguero Kane Austin*

GW 23: Cresswell, SIlva --> Dummet, Puncheon
GW 24: Austin, ADM --> Costa, Cazorla

    Are these good moves?

Yeah I'm taking a risk with him. Not a big deal if dropped though, you can play a Pulis defender any game 8)

    2. Ranaperro
      • 12 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

Very nice. I had a similar problem, the major issue being teams tightening up at the back so more clean sheets likely - scared to miss out on Chelsea/ United buckling down when it counts.

      1. JariL
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 4 months ago

Yeah, I'm a bit worried about the top teams tightening up too. Although it's always possible to downgrade one mid and trade in a big defender, especially since I have one Chelsea slot open. And on the other hand I think that SOU-ARS-SUN-WBA-WBA will get me cleanies as well with their kind fixtures, although as said Bellerin is a rotation risk.

Have to keep on pondering... Thanks for the comment!

I think Fpl should remove one of the Wc, either the general one or the jan one,
It erodes the quality players ability to shine and hands the 'casuals' a2nd bite of the cherry when they haven't really been paying attention.
All Fpl are trying to achieve in reality is ' Music for the masses '

I slightly agree, it's annoying but even on winter wc, if you've been playing and doing well then your transfer value will ultimately be better giving you the edge, albeit slight.

    3. Ruth_NZ

It wasn't the 'casuals' that dumped the PLs top goalscorer on wildcard for a player that couldn't possibly be 100% fit. It was the 'quality players' that did that.

The idea that managers who approach the game with insufficient obsession (in your eyes) should be penalised in some way is elitist nonsense. If you are that good you'll beat them anyway. Maybe you just aren't that good?

    Which one is better?
    Liverpool's defense(at home) OR West Ham's attack(on road)?
    - Liverpool have conceded only 11 times in 11 home games keeping 3 clean sheets

I honestly reckon that's a fairly smart move. You'll no doubt be making a significant profit on Kane as well. He will constinue to score this season but I would guess that his rate will drop with these tougher fixtures.

his spot is not a problem - I think he's always #1 striker for Wenger (when Walcott is fit, then that's another story). But I like Santi's potential more than him. Still I think Giroud is a quality pick. Good luck with that.

It's not based on the final score he received (7). The Bonus Points System is different, and accrues points for events during the match. I see how you can misconstrue the point though, hope that clears it up.

Is Berahino over Kane mad due to fixtures?

Yes, WBA attack won't be too explosive under Pulis

He will be central to all their attack though even if not much and on pens?

Berahino played wing back yesterday. Pulis will play him defensively on away games. Avoid.

Didn't Everton have like 70 something % possession and were on the attack all game though? It won't be like tart every game will it?

As I said, away games. Home games he will play upfront. But u also gotta remember, pulis teams don't score much, get defender(s) instead.

I've owned both Bojan and Ayoze before and been burned. Is it mad considering Blowjan again?

    Ospina, Pantilimon

    Baird, Gardos, Wisdom, Azpilicueta, Bellerin
    Fàbregas, Elia, Sanchez, Downing, Sigurdsson

I'd rather a Sot def than Azpi because you want one premium def at least that you can play every game and Azpi may be rotated?

You'll a big headache when West Brom have a tough game. Bellerin & Baird aren't exactly nailed on imo.

Pulis is in the market for a left back. Until they get someone, he is nailed on

I was tempted to get Giroud and bench Kane but feel like playing Kane now just to spite all the people doubling and tripling up on West Brom

    Bertrand Terry Clyne

Likewise, same front 8 (sold Costa and Downing), also doubled up on Saints defence and had Wisdom on the bench

I dont think anyone can answer that with the current injuries which southampton have.
