The Scoreboard presents the Fantasy Premier League information you need from the day’s matches all on one screen, including the current top five BPS (Bonus Point System) standings from each match (potential Bonus Point earners are in bold). Actual Bonus Points will be shown when added – all points are provisional until then.
I'd be happy with a 29pt game week, well above average.
25p actually but my rival has more players to come and almost same score.
🙄
I know its above average but expected more.
We all did, take solace when seeing scout picks garnered 10pts from 7 players...truly awful 🙂
Lol, I have half of that from 6 too 😐
Like most on here, I enjoy the scout picks article but don't let it overly influence my team- it's one input among many. However, my approach has changed over last few months as I've noticed a bias in the official scout picks that was starting to sway my decision.
I've started to ignore the official scout picks and try to average the individual 4 scouts to get a better view of the world to eliminate this bias.
Case in point, Ozil was featured in 2 of the scout teams but failed to make the official picks.
Cazorla meanwhile is still riding high in the 'watch list' charts.
Costa would regularly appear in the picks during his dry spell despite only being tipped by Mark. Fair enough, it's his site and he gets to make a 'captain's call'. But this season the judgment seems to be unusually off.Wrote a long reply on my phone but reception cut out. In short the main picks don't have a price restriction hence Aguero over Kane
Ahh, hadn't thought about that. Fair point.
Suppose this season it just works out that the more expensive players haven't performed as well
- Liverpool's Battle For the Centre Ground
Pool, have a 6-3-1 record since the middle of December and not a single loss since the holidays. When did this resurgence start for Pool? Well, the turning point was a 3-0 defeat to ManUnited, when BR in his post-game conference insisted that his club had been the better side and deserved to have won despite the scoreline. The weeks that have followed are proof that this wasn't merely blasphemy, Pool have continued to play the 3-4-2-1 formation that BR first tried in that defeat, and the results have followed.
BR's opinion of that loss to United was indeed borne out in the statistics. In that match, Liverpool created nine shots from the "danger zone," the region in the center of the 18-yard-box from which most goals are scored. United had seven. Each club created three clear-cut chances, but United scored two of theirs and Liverpool could not convert. DDG saved nine shots on target and had a monstrous game in goal, and both Sterling and Balo helped him by misfiring in big situations. These are the sort of performances that often come just before a winning streak, and indeed, Liverpool's turnaround has followed just as BR predicted. The underlying stats show a team that is performing at an elite level.
With a back four, Liverpool won six of 15 league games, taking 21 points; with a back three, Liverpool have been victorious in six of ten, procuring 21 points. Pool already have kept five clean sheets in 10 games opting for three central defenders, as many as they managed with four at the back. They have had at least 20 shots in five league games this season; in four of those games, they were playing 3-4-2-1. They have scored as many goals (17) in ten matches in their new-look system (17) as they did in 15 beforehand.
And the 3-4-2-1 features the pivotal element in Rodgers' thinking: a numerical overload in midfield. The spare man accounts for the success. Unless opponents radically alter their own approach, Liverpool always have someone free. It is particularly dangerous when it is one of the twin No. 10s or, to use old-fashioned terminology, the modern-day inside-left and inside-right. Arsenal played a lone holding midfielder and Flamini was unable to track both Coutinho and Lallana. Choose a double pivot in a 4-2-3-1, however, and that leaves Hendo and Lucas able to dictate play against a lone attacking midfielder. Unless a rival manager can find a formation that permits him to pick a quartet of central midfielders (and in more of a rhombus than a diamond), or play 3-4-2-1 themselves, Liverpool will always have an extra man.
Every system has its imperfections, not least because no player is flawless. Liverpool's current shape shows a concentration of players in the centre of the pitch. The corollary is that invariably it means there is space elsewhere. One way of countering BR's tactics might be to use two wingers high up the field, a quartet in midfield and no real striker, as Martinez did against Arsenal last season. One potential flaw lies on the right of the defence, which is patrolled by Can and Markovic, who are both accustomed to operating further forward. Chelsea, and Hazard in particular, threatened to exploit their unfamiliarity with new duties in the Capital One Cup semifinal. Rodgers' squad features many with some of the attributes to play as a right wing-back -- Markovic, Can, Hendo, Johnson, Manquillo, the still injured Flanagan -- and even Sterling has been used there, but, valiantly as the Serb is doing, there is no natural candidate. Perhaps, in time, it is a deficiency that will be exposed.Wowzers again. Top post!!! 😀
Cheers Doora, glad you liked it 😀
You just copy pasted it...
You know Chile plays 3-5-2 ever since Bielsa took over? It works for certain squads but not for all.
Skrtel makes the 3-5-2 (or any variation) work I believe, because he can cover so much ground in the back. You also need players like Can who are comfortable with the ball in order for it to work. The wingbacks play an essential role as well, as they need to defend as well which may/may not come natural to some players.
I coach 12-13 year olds and we play that system.
The system does have a weakness though, do you know what it is?Exactly, great points Rub. Medel for Chile has a similar role to Can, albeit Medel has a big responsibility in bringing the ball into play and playing off Aranguiz and Diaz. Yes, a big key to this formation is the high-press and a great work-rate, especially for the wingbacks. Moreno thankfully has done a great jpb of covering ground and providing enough width on the left to give Sterling some space to maneuver
Curious, what it it mate?It is actually a lot more simple that it seems.
Let's assume that the 3-5-2 gives you the 'extra' man advantage on the wings.
Ibe had a field day vs Spurs.
Well how do you counter that?
By putting more players in an area where they don't have the advantage, which is the their backline.
With a 4-3-3 high press (similar to Spurs but not quite) and focus your attack through the middle. The goal is to halt the attack in their half. Prevent them from playing out the back. (This is what makes Can so effective bc he is so comfortable with the ball, most defenders are not)
With three up top, you can have one striker glued to the 'sweeper' (Skrtel in this case), make sure he is not free at anytime. This works because he is forced to hold his position and can't help out (sweep) his defenders without leaving a man wide open. Or worse case scenerio it forces the DM to stay back to help out, making him an extra defender, thereby cancelling the advantage.
Also, even though its not pretty, the long ball is deadly for the 3-5-2. Why? Because the ball travels faster than any defender so by playing long balls as soon as you regain possession to a dominant striker , you negate the wingbacks who are presumably further forward.
This is all in 'theory' of course, assuming everything will work out the way you planned.
The problem is that most managers won't risk playing with 3 up front and most strikers don't like to defend that much but given the right players, one can definitely make it work.
I hope that makes sense, its getting late here.
Always quote your source when you copy and paste articles - it's only fair on the person who actually wrote it (Richard Jolly, in this case):
http://www.espnfc.com/blog/tactics-and-analysis/67/post/2281522/rodgers-revamped-liverpool-formation-yet-to-be-exposedAye thanks for that PB,, this was a re-post from the other day at the DZ.
Great articlehttp://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2015/02/06/the-community-round-up-80/?hc_page=17#hc_comment_9670556
Sorry for not citing the source here guys, I've linked this before
Ahhh. 😉
Yeah, sorry for the blatant plagiarism here guys. This is quite embarrassing, stupid for doing this
Reported for plagiarism 😛
Yet still we have our frailties when playing Gerrard in CM. Time and again he left Eriksen and Lamela in acres of space just outside the box due to his woeful positioning...this lead to Kane's goal.
Lucas is a big loss on that front. We need Can at RCB and DM.Aye, he can't hold the midfield by himself and made some dumb fouls in the game (on Kane too). Also, what are your thoughts on Sakho from a real life perspective? Wasn't he the culprit for the goal more?
Aye, he certainly was partially at fault with his positioning on that, but the situation never would've got into that position had Gerrard been tracking the runners like he should be doing as a CM. Skrtel got sucked into the position Gerrard should've been in which then made Sakho drift too far inside.
Very insightful.
Bristol City love 3-5-2 doing us no harm...
Wowzers. Captain fail, but a decent green arrow.
How often does that happen? 😀When everyone around you has the same captain. San(c)hez?
I s'pose.
You tell me
Noice rank Doosra! Your doing something completely different this year.
No - that is the strange thing. I am still taking my hits, and following my tables.
But I still have three from the beginning, more or less. And my defence will have been settled, in two parts.
Dooooos remember you telling me Welbeck being the central to everything Arsenal do? Wenger didn't even plan on subbing him in, let alone start him!
It was Giroud and Ramsey who ended up getting benched! There you go. 🙂
You will see when it all settles down.
Wenger won't want to go through a second half like that again, I promise you.Yea I'm not sure if the 4-3-3 worked very well with a battered Alexis and Ozil/Walcott not doing much tracking back. They got exposed a bit, by Leicester for crying out loud!
It's always a good sign to have a good baseline score though, no?
Great job Doosra! 😛 You've been on a spectacular run man, break a legThanks, Zasa. 🙂
Not often enough
🙂
How did Sturridge play btw? 🙂
Fantastic, unlucky not to score with a back heel before HT and made great runs all game. Very, very threatening
So, Sturridge to Costa would be bad move? Plan was to get Sturridge as place holder and get Costa for Burnley game 🙂
Just watched LVG try to defend his long balls against West Ham, completely fail and end up proving yourself a long ball team. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/31394625
If this had been moyes he'd have been crucified but as its LVG's tacticsh the media lap it upnot sure what your on about, he destroyed big sam
If you look at the actual chart he hands out then he is very selective with the stats he presents.
Can you imagine moyes doing this and getting away with it?You are having a larf? 😕
I love the face of the PR lady when she hands his print outs to the media. EVERYONE, including those in the club know that he is an insecure clown.
this was epic
cant belive he tried to 'prove' himself to the media
😆
took a HIT.. kicked out Silva.. Sanchez(c) blanked and injured.. Defoe blanked..
31 + Foster + Jones + Clyne + Hazard + Aguero to go..
praying for Man City's blank now.One of the best scores I've seen.
could have pushed my rank up if I wasn't awake @ 12:30AM last night..
Expecting Foster and Jones to do good...and also expecting a Chelsea Blank (I also own Hazard)...Aguero to run riots with Toure return!
he was celebrating in Ivory Coast parade yesterday.. will he start tonight?
was he? 😯 I doubt then..City are Fecked
Highly doubt it.
Triple Sunderland defence hurt me hard. But luckily N'doye saved my week. That N'doye feeling though. 😛
N'Doye owner 😯
TRIPLE Sunderland defence? They are awful at it, Panti is only worth it because of all the saves he has to make with the plonkers in front of him.
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/671823/event-history/25/
you have none of the above..people make comments just for fecks sake? 🙂
attention hungry.i meant the above Sunderland comment....
got it 🙂
Excuse me? I have all of what I've mentioned.
Still waiting for my first defensive points since using my wwc 2 gameweeks ago...
😆
Somehow while juggling my mids I got 3 Sunderland defenders in..
Now dnno what to do with them... 🙁
Who will win this gw?
a. 14 point lead with adm to play
b. 14 points down with silva, fab and forster to playA .. 14 + (2 + 1 + 3 + 1) = 21
B .. 0 + (2 + 1) + (2 + 3 + 2) + (6 + 0) = 16
A it is! 🙂a beautiful mind
Probably B unless Maria gets something more than 2pts
B,silva 2 goals forster penalty save
Quick question, seems like fpldiscovery isnt updated any other sites to check on the stats?
they are the good one..so wait for it to upload..have Forbearance
Help please.
If Villa beat Leicester over the weekend can the Chelsea Leicester game move to GW28?
How much lead time to the FA have to give to clubs and supporters for rearranged games?I had the same doubt..I doubt it will move to GW28...later I guess..a weeks time will be less..but I am also waiting for a confirmed answer
Cheers MOIN. Obviously nobody has the answer. If you find out let me know.
Has Hull City finally found a solution to their problem in the new striker?

Nice format too... have you had a look at it?no.. do you have the link?
lemme find it.. a sec.
Excellent. Thanks, Siva.
Very nice, cheers for this!
Nice!
Are you saying Chelsea Leicester cannot be played GW28. Important for me as I want cover GW27.
they could play if LEI lose.. 20+ days notice is fine I think..
Don't the FA meet only once a week for rearrangements? It must be a close call. I am surprised there is no hard and fast rule just for the fans sake.
Great more homework 🙂
So who's jumping on the train with Mario?! :p
Even Liverpool are not jumping the train with him..
You are joking. Never, ever again.
Once in a lifetime and rotation risk, not for me mate, sorry
Not even Luigi
Koscielny, cazorla,defoe,kane = 25 points
Still got de gea, terry, jones, clyne, hazard, mane, aguero(c)
Hopefully can rack up many points!massive haul awaits
I used my wildcard before Gw23. Didn't transferred any players in GW 24 &25. So iam supposed to get 3 FT for GW 26 right? Or2FT is the maximum available?
2 FTs max..
Ohh. So I should have used one this week 🙁
you wasted one precious FT..
2 max
2 are the maximum available!
38 points and moved up to 218 on overall standings. Wally (c) plus Kosc and Kane - Clyne, Terry, Silva, ADM, Haz and Aguero to go 🙂
Wally still fantasy royalty for me! Holding out for a big night for ADM to cap it off...Nice!
Nice one. I'm lurking on the 1000 rank, cant seem to crack it. Capt fail week after week.
Good stuff, I dropped 10 places with 19 last night. From 130 to 140. Hazard (c) tonight though - for the first time this season!
Nice (c) choice! Most of the top teams have already tapped out with Sanchez...after following the crowd with Aguero at the weekend, I figured a strategic change would be the best move!
Seeing how Costa will be a real differential at the moment, anyone with WCs planning to play it in GW28 if Chelsea have a DGW?
2 FTs will do the job I guess..especially if you have ADM in your team
I still have my WC but honestly don't feel like I need it. Currently has 2 FTs, and I all goes well, I should have 2 for next GW also
Saw that LvG's explaination re long balls. Is playing long balls a bad tactic? Or have I missed something, not much into tactics and all, so no idea what he is talking abt and why he is talking abt this. 🙂
Big Sam trolled him and he munched. He is meant to be a top manager so would be offended by being called a long ball team.
So, I guess playing long ball isnt a good tactic?
not in the long run
dominant defenders (in the air) will easily screw up the whole systemBut why he is explaining all this? Even if someone said that they are a long ball team, is there any need to prove that we provided less long balls than our opponent etc etc...
I see your long ball and raise you a tiki taka snorefest.
Long Ball Tactic would've been nice if Scholes was still playing...Rooney is the only one who provides decent long balls maybe that's why he plays behind..but the problem is players should know how to receive those as well
Ummm.... Thanks! 🙄
an irony it worked for big Sam for so long.
Kane ✔️
Kos ✔️
Pva ✖️
Panti ✖️
Cazorla(c) ✖️
27 with 4 to go. Think my green arrow may turn red?just might remain green
50/50 PVA and Panti a common call. Cazorla also common but maybe not as captain. I had identical except captain pick.
How do you makes those checks and x?
Kane - tick
Walcott - tick
Sanchez (c) fail
Pva- fail
Pants - fail
24points 6 to play Probably red for both due to our captainsKane OK
PVA X
Panti X
Sanchez (c) XXX
Ibe X
19 - big red is comming 🙁should be a green one
So let me get this right...if Leicester lose to villa this weekend, then Che-lei match will be after the blank gameweek?
Apparently not. I have been asking about required lead times for rearranged matches.
Ah, thanks. It makes saving a FT for that week all the more important if it is
2 FT and 0.8 itb. Would ideally like to save one though, so..
Was thinking either Falcao to Sturridge, or keep Falcao another week and fix Albrighton. Thoughts?
Panti
Terry - Clyne - PvA
Hazard - Sanchez - ADM - Puncheon
Falcao - Kun - Kane
Hamer -- Naughton - Albrighton - BairdYou happy with Puncheon in there?
Not particularly but can't gather the required funds to upgrade at the moment unfortunately
Terry to Rose
Puncheon to ?Madness!
If anything I'd swap terry for azpiIt isn't madness, but never mind. Suit yourself. 🙂
Terry to rose is madness but puncheon to mane for the other one
I can get Azpi and still afford Mane with 0.4 leftover
Yeah, Falcao this week, Albrighton next and have 2FT for GW28
I have 3 Man Utd players but I don't hold out much hope for good returns from them. Treacle would move the ball quicker.
But ... why, Syd? 🙂
They aren't exactly playing good attractive football at the moment and they are conceding to many goals. They robbed your lot at the weekend and that's not the first time they've got a result were the performance didn't deserve anything.
Lovely to wake up to nice green arrows from 10.8k -> 6.6k in FPL and 29th -> 9th in Ultimate FPL.. Thanks Walcott (c) ! 🙂
Well done, mate! 🙂
Cheers Doos! 🙂
Well done, great punt! Was on him all week then see Sanchez OOP and clearly changed it.. Captain fail
Back in top 1000 OR for first time in two years 😎
Well done.
Having a decent season yourself there TM plus Torres has been a bit more magical since his move back to Athletico 😉
When are we going to put the Armband on HarriKane? Great getting his points but armband has to be on him next week right?
He deserves the armband, but Hazard (BUR) and Aguero (NEW) are great options too.
Tempted this week! GW 28 for sure
We did home to Sunderland remember
Last Man Standing safety score around 16.
Piece of piss
Didn't wake up?
I did and did nothing lol
Subs may do well. Sold your 2 for fails.
I have:
Hamer Schmeikel
Bertrand Shawcross Alder Chester Dan
Siggy sanchez Sterling YA YA
Bony Austin Bojan
Quick Fix?Give up
I will keep plugging away using the good advice from this medium.
😯 Any WC left?
No used it GW1.
Just a tease guys. Its my girlfriends team!
How's this look for my 2FT
Cahill >>> Bellerin
Giroud >>> CostaI like it a lot
Wait until after the blank for Costa
9 years, 3 months ago
What an utter disapointment yesterday was. 29 (-4) points and 5 players to go.
Playing Giroud ahead of Jones was truly masterstroke.
