Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 35

The injuries were kept to a relative minimum over the weekend’s action as we cast an eye over the latest batch of recruits to climb onto this Sunday’s Treatment Table.

Chelsea
Ramires was initially named in the Chelsea starting line-up to face Palace this afternoon but withdrew prior to kick-off due to illness. Jose Mourinho revealed post-match:

“Ramires went to the hospital. He was feeling so bad that we decided to take him out of the dressing room and take him to hospital. I’m going to visit him now. Maybe he’s not there anymore, but he was feeling really bad, really ill.”

Manchester City
Jesus Navas missed this afternoon’s trip to Tottenham with a tight hamstring, according to the local press. City’s problems on the flanks mounted after Samir Nasri lasted just three minutes as a substitute before suffering a recurrence of a groin problem.

Newcastle
Paul Dummett is an early doubt for the Magpies’ clash with West Brom after sustaining a hamstring problem during Saturday’s loss at Leicester.

QPR
Steven Caulker was subbed off at the break in the R’s loss at Liverpool due to a suspected broken hand.

Southampton
Sadio Mane was forced off during the Saints’ loss at Sunderland after failing to recover from a challenge from Lee Cattermole.

Swansea
Nelson Oliveira was replaced in the first-half of the Swans’ win over Stoke due to an ankle injury. Garry Monk conceded the forward – who has been playing with the problem for a fortnight – is set to be assessed:

“He’s had it for a couple of weeks that ankle injury. Under the challenge, it was a heavy challenge on him, he rolled his ankle and it was enough to come off. There was swelling, so it’s one of them that we’ll have to assess in 48 hours’ time. Hopefully the swelling goes down and he’s available for next week, but won’t really know until probably Tuesday.”

Sunderland
The Black Cats’ skipper John O’Shea was forced off with a rib injury and concussion in the 2-1 win over Southampton.

West Brom
James Morrison missed the Baggies’ win over United due to injury, according to post-match reports.

Which is better this week only
    a) kane and Sanchez
    B) Ramsey and Giroud
    C) too close to call (meaning I go with A as gives more flexibility)

I'll have all 3 arsenal and no kane next week regardless

    Noob question

How do you determine who your rival brought in before the next gw starts?

      You can't.

      🙂

You can make an educated guess though.

Changes when transfer is made and it shows 1 gameweek transfer.

To be a little more specific, go to your rivals page today. There should be a section toward the bottom right called Transfers & Finance. It will list the total number of transfers for the season and the number for this week (hopefully still 0). It will also list how much your rival has in the bank. Take a screenshot or write that down.

If you come back later in the week and your rival has made transfers, you won't be able to see what the transfers are, but it will list in this section how many transfers have been made and will show what the revised bank amount is. Based on the number of transfers made and any changes in the bank, you'll then make your educated guesses (starting with the assumption right now that your rival is bringing in Arsenal players or Benteke)....

          Good luck.

You also need to know the selling value of his players, which will depend on when he bought them.

Tbh it's probably a waste of time delving too deep. As da Beez says, it's gonna be Arsenal or Beneteke.

First priority should be having 3 Arsenal. Fine to do that without Giroud, but the only way I'd take Benteke over Giroud is if I'm otherwise going to be maxed out on Arsenal for GW37.

Forget about talk of who is the best, most attacking etc, how about which arsenal players are least vulnerable to rotation?

    I'm thinking Sanchez, Ozil, Kosc?

There's talk of giroud making way for welbeck and I don't think Ramsey is nailed on personally.

    Thoughts?

      • 14 Years

I've seen those comments about Ramsey and Giroud, and they factor into my rankings. BUT, even if they sit one, they're still likely to play at least as much as anyone else not wearing an Arsenal or Sunderland jersey, and still probably get 15-25 minutes in the game they don't start.

        Thanks Champ!

I think Jose has learnt his lesson in the Champions League - was playing relatively attacking football and leaving the defence exposed. Also we were a bit unlucky in that PSG game to concede from 2 set-pieces (you don't usually relate that with us). Will revert back to his winning formula now as he has done in the league recently and grind out results.

Got a lot of flair for sure but we defeated Barca at their peak as well 😉

I imagine Jose will sign another quality CM like Koke to really bolster our midfield for big games. That will make us perfectly set up for counter-attacking football.

Next season should be a breakaway season for the likes of Willian and Oscar I hope.

well he can watch mayweather embarrass pacquiao for inspiration. if anyone can mastermind a champions league win in this climate it is mourinho.
oscar is quality man. just needs some consistency. I don't think he'll ever fulfill his potential in a mourinho team though tbh.

Hey guys....I'm trailing in my ML by 40pts (Sanchez and Giroud left for me; Ramsey for him)
Also 2FT's and 0 in the bank.

    What would you do here?

    Ospina Schmeichel
    Terry Azpilicueta Moreno** PvA Duff**
    Hazard Alexis Sterling Coutinho Cambiasso
    Aguero Giroud Vardy

    Already 3 Arsenal
Want Liverpool out but for who?

Is Terry likely to drop to the bench now the title is won? I got him & Cahill in defense.

I could imagine Zouma getting a run out but Mourinho seems so obsessive that he wants to go for max points.

      Terry won't be dropped imo.

He made a big deal out of playing every minute this season in his post match interview and he's mentioned before he wants to play every game this season. it's a pride thing and i'm sure Jose will respect that.

    Team is:

    Schmechiel, Ospina
    Ivan, Skrtel, Alderweirald, PvA, McShane
    Hazard, Sterling, Silva, Fabregas, Henderson
    Aguero, Kane, Vardy

    Which option?

    A) Sterling + Fabregas/Silva + Kane ➡ Sanchez + Rodwell/Albrighton + Giroud (-4)
    B) Sterling + Vardy ➡ Gomez + Giroud, and then Silva ➡ Ozil/Ramsey next week.

    Cheers. 🙂

I bought him before he went up in price but now wish I hadn't. Not so much that he might get injured tonight, just that the extra money you pay really restricts your options elsewhere.

And not mention going into the Swansea game at home without an Arsenal mid. Could really prove costly. Still unsure though.

You aren't thinking straight. Sanchez fever has got you. October to December 2014 was when you needed him, not now.

Silva has QPR (h) next week. You think an Arsenal mid v Swansea (h) is worth taking a -4 to replace him? B is far more sensible.

Morning lads. What would you do with the following team this week?

    MIgs, Panti
    Bellerin, Ivan, Terry, Pva, Dawson
    Hazard, Silva, Sterling, Bolasie, Boydinho
    Kun, Kane, Giroud

    2FT, nothing ITB

    A) Ivan -> Morgan & Kun -> Bentekke
    B)Just Ivan -> Morgan
    C) Silva -> Ramsey
    D) Any other?

    Cheers.

    1. Shifty
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 7 days ago

      I'd keep Ivan.

If you want to keep Bellerin for the double, I'd do Migs > Gilks, Sterling > Ramsey/Ozil. Don't need Migs for rest of the season.

If you want to get rid of Bellerin, i'd do Bellerin > McShane, Sterling > Ramsey/Ozil this week. Frees up 1 Arsenal spot for GW37. then Silva > other of Ramsey/Ozil for free...or Sanchez for a hit.

      1. Coldplay
        • 12 Years
        9 years, 7 days ago

Hadn't thought about getting rid of Migs. This isn't bad actually. Cheers.

I'd wait and see if Bellerin starts today, if he does, I think I might keep him. His returns have been immense for the past few weeks.

        Thanks for the ideas.

No worries. Yea, your decision should revolve around Bellerin so just wait til the game is played. He's been in good form and will start the FA Cup final imo. Whether he's rested in GW37 or 38...no one knows.
