The Big Numbers – Gameweek 7

In our first members article of the week, we assess the displays of West Ham, Leicester and Villa’s forwards as the search for a Callum Wilson replacement intensifies. We cast an eye over Southampton, Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal’s midfields and also analyse the impact of Brendan Rodgers’ decision to switch to a 3-4-1-2 formation in the last two Gameweeks.

For those, like me, that are still waiting on bringing in KDB before ManC CL-game, but are afraid of tonight's possible price rise - here's some stats.

    At 23.00 GMT
    KDB 92,3%, DELTA 2954

    At 00.45
    KDB 92,8%, DELTA 2762

    Stats from http://www.fplstatistics.co.uk/

Based on these stats my conclusion is that he will NOT rise tonight, the DELTA isn't going down fast enough.

However, the stats could be wrong, so you will of course have to make your own assumption. I would still wait until tomorrow's CL-games are finished before I'm bringing him in to my team.
I will transfer him in for a -4 hit, so it would suck big time if he got injured AFTER I brought him in. Waste of a transfer, waste of points.

Just be careful if relying on those percentages, players in the low 90s have risen and fallen befroe

I know, but as long as he didn't show a clear 100% earlier today, I will still wait.
As I was saying, would suck if he got injured after i brought him in...

For example, look at the people transfering Yaya OUT, then Pellegrini declares him fit for the CL-game and very likely to be fit for the weekend. If only they would have waited a day or two, they wouldn't have "wasted" a transfer.

I'm thinking either Redmond or Ayew.

If I take out Ayew it's only so it wouldn't be so expensive bringing KDB in.
If I take out Redmond, I will get a 0.1 profit before Redmond's price fall.

        Thoughts?

I took Ayew out this week to help get Sanchez in. Seems like his and Swanseas form have taken a dip

Just afraid of SWA bouncing back up again. And Redmond has great fixtures these 2-3 upcoming GW3, he's however not 100% nailed.

Doesn't matter really who I choose, either one will be a bad transfer and it will come back and bite me in the ass.

I think its fairly obvious that KDB won't be playing as a #10 when Silva returns.

Indeed, he was on the right in that occasion and scored a long range goal. That won't happen all the time, in general he wasn't very threatening on the RW.

You seem to have a lot of hate for the guy, but the fact that you've kept him this long without changing him shows that you're worried he's going to explode against Newcastle.

I dont hate him. Just hate owning him. I've only kept him this long because I've had more pressing transfers to make and dont really fancy taking a hit for it. Yes, there is a chance of him coming into some points against Newcastle - the point for a CS - but he certain isnt going to 'explode'.

Then surely you can see that KDB is a far better footballer at this stage? OFC Sterling is just a baby and will get better and better but right now it's no contest

The stats suggest a much closer comparison than you make out. Sterling gets into dangerous areas a lot more than KDB. Yes KDB is a better finisher but when Silva returns he won't have as much freedom.

I also believe Sterling was bought to run on to Silva's delightful passes - he is pathetic at finishing but once Silva back, he'll have enough chances to grab the points

My comparison is between them as footballers, not how many touches they have in the box or whatever stats you are referring to. They are both good options in that attack, although KDB is worth the extra million at the moment imo

Agreed. TPBTP is too long and not engaging enough to warrant the extra screen time. Also a bit clumsy in its structure which leaves a huge vacuum right in the middle third of the film.

Have not seen Still Alice but would like to.

Ex Machina is one of the films of then year.

A story that affects so many in society, can hit anyone at anytime, and is incurable. Moore is such a great actress I can only imagine the tear jerking produced in that one.

As my wife and I were leaving the theater (like what, 4 months ago?), there was a 40 ish man sitting towards the back, alone, bawling inconsolably. I've never seen that after a performance of any kind. It haunts me, that moment.

He is, and so are Gabriel, Bellerin, and Coquelin. Our defence is brilliant, it's just our keepers and lack of balance in midfield that's letting us down. Ramsey should be our B2B with Alexis on the right and Cazorla on the left, that's the best solution IMO.

I'm not sure if Sakh gets the BAPS you so love. My greatest worry is Gomis hooked at the half at what the future holds. But the other forwards aren't at his level at Swansea. I'd think/hope it's just a one week tactical move.

Some people said I should play Ozil (MUN) over Ritchie (WAT) this week. Need some help on this. Can't say I'm confident about Ozil doing anything against Man U. Watford have been defensively solid but Ritchie is more of a differential and possibly on pens now that Wilson is injured. Plus I think Bournemouth have a better chance of a CS than Arsenal. Thoughts?

Another little tit bit from my journey into U15's footy management...

Been speaking to another manager who had his goalie sent off in a match....The FA have fined the club £35.00 and the club (as is common) have passed the fine on to the parents...

The parents have told the FA to f off and have stopped the goalie from playing anymore after a row...

No wonder grass roots footy isn't working.

Same manager played in a cup competition at the weekend against one of the best young clubs in the NW based in Manchester.

At half time they were 14-0 down...he said to the ref the kids had had enough and wanted to leave....The ref informed the manager that it was a£100.00 fine if they left !!...

        They ended up losing 22-1

I have to say I love your stories of everyday footy. Reminds me of the old times; I used to love my Sunday league teams. I'm on your side with the FA charges. It was bollocks years ago too, even in 5 a side. The amount of stupid little charges they give is insane. To register a team every half a year for a fee made my blood boil. I don't mind paying for the ref, and playing fees but registering a 5 a-side team? Bah

You got 31. Tricky week for teams with Wilson, Aguero, Ayew, Kolarov, Myhill, Mahrez, Azpi, Yaya etc
These players were common down the bottom.

    Morning all.

If anyone is interested in Fantasy NBA, we have a league specially designed for FFS community. Some regular & semi-regulars are in there already, i.e Billy, Snake Juice, Salmdog Millionaire, Les Bleus and me.

Feel free to contact me at mateen_dreams@yahoo.com or SJ if you're up for it. Draft is currently set on Sat Oct 17.

Who would you prefer to start?

    Westwood (STO)
    Prödl (bou)

This is assuming Shaqiri is ruled out. Otherwise I can replace him with a hit up to 7.4m. Thoughts?

True. Westwood rarely delivers though. Would be hilarious for ML rivals if he actually did something. Perfect fixture for it.

Exactly, his fixture is probably better too. I'm not sure about the last few games but early on in the season he was creating chances galore

Sold Sanchez for Hazard last week, as a few others did.

Now I'm tempted to bring Sanchez back in with Chelsea being in such dreadful form.

    Savvy or daft?

Yea that would be even tougher to come back from psychologically.

Nothing really suggests Hazard will come good though, Mourinho dropping him today was a bit of a mystery. Chelsea seem like a sinking ship at the moment.

Only 1 week left. After 6 months of fantasy baseball it's down to me (14421 points) and another guy (14353) but he should get another 80 points from 2 extra starters. 156 games through and I'm absolutely worn out, I can't wait for Sunday night when it will all be over I don't even care if I lose anymore

He is a bit pricey to be warming the bench at Liverpool so they will probably play together

On Wildcard... much ground to cover, but blessed with team value of 103.6 to tinker with. Current thinking:

    De Gea (Hennessy)
    Kolarov, Monreal, Evans (Hangeland, Kelly)
    Hazard, Sanchez, Mata, Mahrez (Drinkwater)
    Kun, Sakho, Vardy

Biggest headache is whether to stick with Hazard/Sakho (especially after today's Champions league display) or do one of De Bruyne/Martial or even Payet/Sturridge

Thoughts on my team? And is Hazard/Sakho the best combination?
