The ScoutCast – Episode 170 – Bingo

Forget two fat ladies, in ScoutCast Bingo it’s all about three men with paunches chatting Fantasy Football fortunes, rattling out a few familiar clichés along the way.

Thanks to Numb’s witty community contribution, this week’s episode finds us gripping our dabbers in preparation for mispronunciations, dropped connections and a regular helping of “blimeys”.

Around those fun and games, we tackle the serious matters – assessing the merits of Sergio Aguero, Callum Wilson’s replacements and my range of Christmas jumpers.

All those hard-hitting issues are addressed via another round of community questions, following on from our review of Gameweek 7 as Granville fights the urge to gloat having opened up a 40 point lead over yours truly.

This episode of the ScoutCast was broadcast live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday evening. You can view the full Google Hangout on the larger player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

vardy - berahino's stats are terrible. Would be tough for him to maintain that form in that highly defensive wbrom team

Okay thanks. Remembered only that Pedro thing 🙂
Checked also Mahrez and his price didn't rise either (altough he was doubtful at some time then).

Wildcards were flying during the last international break, which put a dampener on price movements.

    Whatcha reckon?

    A) No hits
    B) Pedro -> Silva/Wally (-4)
    C) Mane & Pelle -> Silva/Wally & Berahino (-8)

If C) then I will definitely WC in GW11. If A or B then I'm not sure.
    B) and C) raises an extra £1m if I go with Wally (i.e. for defensive upgrades)

    Ruddy
    Kolarov, Bellerin, Huth
    Sanchez, Pedro, Mane, Mahrez, Sinclair
    Aguero, Vardy

    Rudd, Pelle, Coates, Targett
    Bank 0.6m, 0FT

    Cheers!

I've heard a few rumours of this, but only due to a couple of poor performances. Willian has looked good of late also, so I think one of Oscar/Pedro could well make way. If Oscar makes way, who would play in the hole from Haz, Willian, Pedro? They could even push Fabs forward and start with Matic/Ramires in the double pivot.

Mmm, fair enough. I still don't think it's worth a hit though personally. The only player I'd be tempted to take a hit for is KDB though. Silva seems to be made of spaghetti this season.

I've got some real issues... Which one would you address first?

    A) Wilson
    B) Kompany
    C) Gomez
    D) chadli
    E) targett

I know... A lot of rubbish in there...

I've got 1.2 in the bank, one FT and this is the rest of them...

    Butland, McCarthy

    Zouma, Richards

    Sanchez, silva, shelvey, mahrez

    Martial, aguero

Wilson due to price dropping fast, but would defo consider a hit and remove one more and/or could play AOA chip if Kompany confirmed out

It's very template, but Wilson has to go first and Vardy looks the best replacement (it's what I've done also).

      Possibly Kompany -> Kolarov (-4) or Gomez/Targett -> Dier/Aldy (-4) also

Richards I reckon. Never doubt Pulis and Francis has attacking threat as well as well as having a decent chance of a cleanie

I was wondering about this... Richards v Francis...

I posed a question other day and got zero responses.

I need to put out a Huth or Gomez fire in my defence (and I'm not particularly keen on keeping Richards either).

What do you think about taking a -4 hit to do Gomez > Francis, then play him instead of Richards? Suppose he needs to outscore him by 4. I reckon there's a reasonable chance.

I'm try this one again, as I got not response the other day. I'll give you some more detail...

I could wait till next week, but I don't really want these future transfer plans building up, as I feel both a set to drop again soon, and I can't afford to let that happen.

          What's everyone think?

A Bournemouth defender for a hit is not a wise decision. Look at Swansea or Watford

I think if that are must have transfers due to injury, you can justify them also if francis outscores him with less as 4 points aotherwise you have other transfers delaying for weeks later that might give you a better return, too

Don't take a hit for a defender if you can field 3 that can play.

            Fix next week.

Even if you force enforced hits in your future as both Huth and Gomez are heading in the wrong direction ownership-wise, and you would rather spend an FT next week upgrading Westwood > Mane?

I respect your opinion, so subsequent question, how would you rate the chances of Richards v Francis being a points-neutral hit?

Buying defenders there needs to be a semblance of cs and looking beyond one game. Only get Francis if you think you'll get returns for the next 3 games and more.

If you get Dawson, Zumba and Kolorov, you can play them each week.

If you think you'll have a better transfer to make next GW I would go for it man. Can't see Richards getting more than 2 points.

That's my thinking, and I've wanted Francis since the beginning. In fact, Huth is only in my team because on a WC and held him because we all expected Francis' value to drop and I wanted to make myself that extra 0.1. Been stuck with him ever since, cos there's always something more pressing!

            Redmond or Blind.
Blind keeps going forward even though he's aligned as DEF.
He might well be on the LB for the next match, with Jones and Smalling on CB

            I reckon AoA too.

Mildly exciting getting a chip in the pot. Feels like limping with something ugly under the gun though only to get battered when it comes round. Brutal season so far.

          Wildcard team, need defensive suggestions

          Butland 4.0
          Kolarov Naughton Dawson Alderweireld 4.0
          Sanchez KdB Mata Payet Mahrez
          Sturridge Vardy Ighalo

          0.4 iTB

What if I change Alderweireld to Ben Davies? And upgrade 4.0 def to a playing DEF (Cook maybe) to have 5 playable defs?

Or is it better if I keep only 4 defenders and since I'll only be playing 3 of them, they're good value so can be transferred out easily and if it all goes to hell, I'll use the AOA chip maybe?

I am pretty set on playing Butland till GW18 so 4.0 GK is fine.

Davies is a risk for me. I'd keep Toby.
